Easter and Such

In an effort (fail—keep reading) to keep Sunday focused on the Savior the Easter Bunny  comes to our house on Saturday—
It was a mad house!
An Easter Bomb we might call it—especially after Grama’s Bunny Mrs Hardee showed up! Yikes! But the boys were having fun.

And while the Bunny brought a massive new slip and slide, Dad was focused on the red neck pool. Way focused. The Isaac gets involved in a project and you might as well kiss him goodbye kind of focused. I took so many pictures but who knows what you’ll get. And to really appreciate it you’d have to have them all...and in order so you too could scratch your head and think wait I thought they had it in and we’re swimming, why is out out on the lawn now...
I’m telling you it was around and around-just a circus.
I wasn’t a very happy camper when I pulled up and he was using my new (Well Christmas) cordless vacuume out there. He-baffled-couldn’t figure out why it mattered. I settled this issue by determining if it got broke I would buy a new one and not worry about the budget—then I was able to just not care and not be a beasty wife. He was like what could possibly happen to ruin it??? ... it was just a good thing I settled the matter in my mind 😉 and really he won out, it was fine.

Above is my view out the kitchen window...they look so longingly...
And he let them in...but if you’re going to swim in your underwear-I’m going to put it on the blog. They could’ve stayed off the blog if they’d skinny dipped but don’t tell them, I’m sure they’ll have that bright idea soon enough.

Sunday when Isaac got home the liner was blown back in and rain was coming...what did Elder Holland this last conference about about selling the ox and fixing the mire? I guess maybe this was him fixing the mire? Hardly an Easter Sunday activity but...oh well. Notice long sleeves, cowboy hat, collar up, he got pretty darn sunburnt the day before!

Mostly I’m so glad my little Sethy kept me  mostly out of this project. Thanks buddy!
But was there any doubt Super dad you have them having fun? Not really.

They’re loving it
The boys got new suits for church for Easter. I bought them last November on a scream’n deal, and put them away. Too bad the one I bought Colt fit Cannon 😳 whoops. But it worked out cuz Colt could wear the one we got from Eric that Cann had been wearing. The one I got for Cann eh one of the will get it sometime, I don’t know if it would fit now or when he’s 10, that’s just part of clearance shopping, I didn’t even get it out—I didn’t want him to get 2 new ones and Colt get none. I really didn’t love the grey color for Cannon but I’ll get used to it. Colt likes grey ...and he’ll get it eventually!! Tanners fit perfect and was my favorite! (But his new orange tie didn’t make it in time for Easter-bummer for him, better pics for me)

Seth blessing outfit (is what led me to the screaming deals in the first place) came with a suit coat but it is huge! So we’ll skip the coat but, look at the cutie! I think he’s excited for all the family to come for he and Cannons big days!!

Let’s see what else?
Tuesday for the first time in a long time I got to play b-ball at the church. So much fun. Total Jello legs-yikes-2 trips up and down the (small) court and my poor legs thought they’d run a marathon. Ha. Oh well. I had a blast! I took Seth so when he’d really start screaming we’d have to take a break. He was saving me.

Tanner got to go to Sister Moody’s while I took Colt to the dentist—he was in heaven!!! We all love the Moody’s, and that Jeep is just icing on the cake!

Poor Colt is a little bit too much like me making that dentist chair a second home. 4 cavities one each top left and right bottom left and right. But we got two punched out this week and we’ll go back twice next week too, then be done-for a while, we hope!!
And last but not least just my boys... I sure love them!!

Tan my helper...just check’n Seth’s diaper for me.

Tonight we’re in Nauvoo-always fun!

Oh wait!! I got so busy tell’n stories on Isaac I forgot what else we did Saturday. The Zimmerman’s invited both the Pettits and us over and we hat a little hot dog roast and Easter egg hunt. It was really fun!
Tanner wanted us to just leave him home. So Mr Stubborn he just stayed in the car the whole time. We were there for 3-4 hours!!! He finally got out the last 15 min or so. So stubborn.

Oh and we printed a few of these up for Cannon to share!

Today I have tons to do and it’s kind of stressing me out so I decided to talk to text because it will be faster for blogging well...then you have to go back and edit it (it’s pretty hilarious the difference between what the phone thinks I say and what I said)

Here we go though hopefully I can catch all the mistakes

These two goofballs! Total Frien-amies. The play and play and play, and fight and fight and fight. They’re pretty cute and they have Easter on the brain... (hopefully the bunny comes)

I was busy around the house and holding Seth then...Blowout. I had a mess to clean up! Shrug. Just part of the job. So after I took care of the worst of it I set him in the crib and in just a diaper and went to work on the laundry side of things, when I came back little mostly naked man was sporting the ears.
His brothers loved it and giggled and giggled but Seth could only tolerate the nonsense for so long. Ha.

So the week:
Saturday was a Nauvoo perfect day.
We didn’t hurry to get out of town. Only semi worried about packing a cooler (that meant Isaac was game to stop if we needed to 👍) He stopped in to check on the youth activity. I fed Seth. Oh and he traveled like a champ! We ran into two  sister Missionaries who had served in our ward! We love them!!

And when it was time for us to go to the temple another family from our ward pulled up! They also have four little kids so we just traded and watched kids at the park so we could both go to the temple together! It was awesome!

Isaac sleeping on the grass while I was responsible for eight children (9 if we count the big one -Him-) maybe not the best **his nap didn’t last long I had to have his help.
Isaac letting the three-year-old drive on the streets of Nauvoo... also maybe not the best...But I take pictures and then it makes it fun. Come to think of it that’s how I handle stressful situations often. Whatever works.

And Sunday we survived—with help from friends! It was just one of those Sundays! Bath in the sink in the mother’s lounge. Check. I swear each of my kids earn that at least once.

This week at school Colton got to be the star of the week he was pretty excited about it. I started to help him make a poster but he wanted creative independence and hey—he was the star, not me— so he went to town on the posters and I’m pretty sure every picture we’ve ever actually printed up ended up on that bad boy!

It was fun, he got to take toys for show’n tell, and a special star of the week treat. He had a good time.

This week we finally made Tanners $.49 under armour shorts. (Colts pants hat ??? No clue)

I had bought them on clearance when I was ordering some stuff for Basketball. They were really short running shorts but they were under armor and Cannon’s sold Tanner on the name brand stuff 🙄 so so we channeled our inner Grama Nette and remade them! They turned out Coltons length and Tanner  width. So we rolled them and went with it.

Tuesday we bought a new chair for the living room. It’s a little big but I like it. sometimes the boys still accidentally call it the “red chair” then Tanner corrects them and says “it’s not a red chair it’s a new chair it’s brown!” we moved the other one into our bedroom and I love having it in there!!! probably more than I love the new one! I vetoed a picture of it because the truth is we’ll end up with hundreds right?

Wednesday mowing season officially began. It was a little too windy for Seth so we didn’t last long but we started and it’s it’s Missouri so now we will mow and mow and mow. Verdict: I think correcting talk to text errors takes longer than typing it out. Ug. Talk to text gave me “know and mold and mold” instead of mow and mow and mow. Live and learn I guess.

Thursday Cannon had baseball practice. He Fouled a ball up into his face! It was quite the bloody nose! Poor guy!!

Tonight was the ward spaghetti dinner and virtual temple tour. Isaac might fly by the seat of his pants but he pulled off a great activity! We had lots of help! We didn’t get the “bring a friend” crowd we’d hoped for but it was still a great turn out of ward members and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I’m glad it’s over though too—I get a little stressed. 😉

Seth buddy  pics

I tried to get a picture of how Tanners face lit up when “if you’re gunna play in Texas” came across the car speakers... all week I kept thinking of things that easily could have made the Tanner Tales list. I’m sure his antics will get laced into the stories here on the blog.

When Tanner has the camera pics

And lastly, sometimes it’s rough getting up with Seth—but sometimes I get to see pretty amazing sunrises. Even if the pictures doesn’t do it justice-this was awesome to watch!

Have a great week!

I think we’re back in the picture business. I hope.
This kid...just watering his brother so he can grow (thankfully there wasn't actually water involved—see I should count my blessings)
Tanner Tales (sigh) I should have told the stories last week on his birthday. He’s just 3 and as is usually the case with 3 year olds he says the funniest things, here are a few:

“Are you kidding?” He says it all the time it reminds me of when colt used to say “Do you tazy?” And -back to Tanner- “that’s Ridiculous” but pronounced  “dats E dit a yus” and “you weirdo”  to anybody...for any reason...

If I ever start to count like when he’s been warned about something I say “one” and he yells -usually in complete meltdown mode- “3! I said 3 YOU need a consequence!” As if it’s all just a race to say the word 3 then the other person gets the consequence. As I said it’s usually a complete meltdown for him...and so hard not to laugh for me.

I can’t remember where we were but I said “What are you growling about?” And he answered “It’s my motor.”  Duh!

Last week when we went to pick up Colt from preschool I was getting Seth out of the car and I heard a ping...like rock on a window kind of ping. I looked up and sure enough Tan had thrown a rock at the school...just cuz... thankfully he didn’t break it but I told him he could have and that it was dangerous  and that he couldn’t do that and that he was going to have to tell Ms Jen, the principal, sorry for throwing the rock  at the school. HOLY COW melt down. He just wanted to go home and so on. Then Ms Jen wasn't even there so I said well you can just tell Ms Sharon, the nurse, cuz she was a grown on up and worked at the school and was right there. Good enough right. Oh man. He was just crying and carrying on but as soon as he thought I was distracted he screamed through his tears "I'm sorry I threw a rock at your school." Twice. I kindof looked up and Sharon and said Did he say it? And she was like I think so. She was super sweet with him too even before he said it just said "Oh we want to be safe we don't want you or anybody to get hurt and when we throw rocks people can get hurt."

Anyway on to a little happier one. If Seth cries Tan runs to him and gives him a kiss on the head its pretty sweet. If that doesn't work he sings him his "Tanner loves (lubs) you" song. (I think I have a video of it I need to check, its pretty cute) And if all else fails he'll gag him with a binky.

He cracks me up when he compliments me. For example if I get a wasp out of mid air with the vacuum he'll say "oooh nice one mommy" or "good one mommy" its hilarious.

And the poor kid, can’t for the life of him figure out why we can’t pee outside at the park, or just anywhere outside. Farmhouse problems.

And when the weathers finally nice...I guess ya just head outside dressed or not... And he loves to wear the snow boots -not necessarily his own just any-because they slip on so easy.
I need to teach the kid how to wear a hat...as if I have any influence at this point. Mr. Independent.

He keeps us hoppin.

Anyway the week...
Saturday community service project at the ball fields...but it was too windy for little Seth man so Isaac was like “eh do you want to just take the boys to Home Depot? ... so I did! All 4 of them 😳😳😳
Poor Cannon looks like a goof if the only (other) picture I have with all 4 our them (new blog header) so we were trying again...we'll keep trying.
Saturday after service and home depot we enjoyed conference. Maybe I'm a stinker...ok not maybe I am. But I had to take a picture of what happens when Isaac cooks the corndogs. Tanner was like "Its Burnt" Isaac was like "no its not...it doesn't taste burnt." Umm I voted with Tanner and scraped  off the burnt part for Tan. There is a reason I'm so possessive in the kitchen. Then sweet Seth just sleeping away.

I wish he looked like that right now. Man he has some tummy troubles. Poor little guy.
The boys did awesome listening for specific words to get treats during conference. We had a little dollar store stencil and art canvas fun too. They totally scored a big pile of skittles when the word they picked for Elder Cook's talk was "Love" It was fun because Tanner and Colt both love Elder Cook! Then a little post conference fun in the rain on the tramp.

Tanner and Colt wrecked on their bikes on the driveway. Just life. Colt really is doing good on riding his bike he's been practicing but for some reason he wouldn't move over. He was mad that he got hurt too but it didn't look as bad as Tanners. Well...tonight riding down the hill out front in the wagon. It was bad. Cannon was in pretty hot water with his dad for putting Colt up to things that are dangerous AND that he wouldn't do himself.
But for all the rough times...these ones melt my heart!
We've been working on the upstairs bathroom. The guys came and laid the vinyl and we started to put the vanity in tonight.
And we decided to plant a little garden...where the grass they planted last week didn't grow...hmmm....

I think that’s it, I’m going to see what I can do for my poor little tummy trouble man.
