The Ison's: November 2017

Right now Isaacs name is mud! Because he just up and went to bed and I had to deal with the bedtime routine solo. This has been the case for days on end, at my parents house the him just go to bed thing is normal, usually at his parents house he just stays up late visiting. He says "they'll figure it out" as far as getting the kids to bed. Yeah right! So we've had a blast, but the structure of home and our routine and having his help will be nice too!!

Ok rant over I'll try to keep it positive now...

Oh boy, I guess we start at the temple. Isaac and I dropped the boys off at Ky's and went to wait in line because the Saturday before the line had been outrageous. But...it wasn't bad at all and we ended up in the "waiting for the rest of our party" section WAY longer than we waited in line. Oh well, my folks brought the boys and Ann and we all went through the temple together. It was BEAUTIFUL, and perfect to be in the temple with Isaac, our boys, and my parents. I loved the temple! Except for the trying to keep them reverent and quiet part-for a moment, my world was perfect. (They weren't too bad...but they could have been better.) When we first got to Ky and Kami's Ann said "You guys are going to love the temple!" so it was cute that she helped the boys get excited and came with us too.

I know I was supposed to have my phone put away already but we were still outside so I was still legal, I thought their little feet covered in the booties were so cute!!

Cannon Ann and Isaac were too far ahead of us to get a picture. Once inside I did request we all stay together and they obliged 😊

After we went to Ky's and just visited while the kids played and played. They sure love (and beg for) "Cousin time!"

Then we headed down to St. George.

Sunday we had our own little Frei family "Fake Thanksgiving" but really there was nothing fake about it. It was great. And we have so much to be thankful for! We had a great time and I realized while we've been back for Christmas 3 times, its been 5 years since we've done thanksgiving with my family! Crazy huh? Thanksgiving is such a good family holiday I really love it.
Of course we got a little time at the corrals in. (aka Grampa's sandbox)

While the above picture is cute, I had asked Cannon not to put those boards up and not to climb on the haystack...so along with being cute it's also evidence of about how well he minds lately. 🙄

And if Tanner is every missing...check in at Grandpa's computer...is there really any wonder why his internet wasn't working? --not really--

Monday felt like Black Friday--the day after thanksgiving of course because our Thanksgiving was REAL in every way. So we busted out the tree!

And here we have documentation of the VERY LAST TIME Grampa will put up Christmas lights. (Someone else can do it next time) But Crap. So Scary! He had taken a 1/2 day off work for this little project with the Grandkids. Let me tell ya-they were a ton of help too...NOT! But anyway he'd slipped up to the corrals and grabbed his 20ft ladder. It had blown over up at the corrals the other day and he didn't think anything of it. BUT, in that fall the structural integrity of it was totally compromised! He was on it, at the very peak of one of the eves when he heard a crack. The sucker broke right in half. He turned to bail but his foot went through it and tipped him upside down and he landed right on his head! I just was messing with lights in the bushes and heard the crash- it was an awful sound! Its a miracle he didn't get seriously injured...or worse. Luckily it was on the grass and he walked away with a really bad headache. We got him into his chiropractor that day and as his headache lessened he kept finding more and more places that hurt and he was really really sore the next two mornings...shoot-he probably still is I just haven't talked to him. But ya, his feet were above his 6 foot ladder when it happened (that ladder got bent all to heck in the crash cuz it was underneath) and it was SO close to the cement. Yikes. Close one. We are very thankful he was okay!
Just a few minutes prior to that Tanner rode this little CAT truck that was Cannon's down the drive way to a face plant on the asphalt. Bummer. Poor little dude-and little did we know that was the mild head injury of the day.

Monday night was Grama Nettes annual donut party. She gave all the families a "Little Lamb from Bethlehem" we love it.

And the kids got Christmas pajamas.
Oh boy, Colton (tired as he was) thought there was going to be a toy in those packages. Disaster. Only Grama's little darling would get away with a fit like that. I was so mad and disappointed in his behavior, I didn't care if he ever gets a toy again. Thankfully he got over that! And he did apologize. But YIKES.

Isaac isn't the best at interacting with my family. In fact, sometimes its like he's a completely different person than normal. Not when they come to our house, but when we go there. He's ALWAYS good to help if something needs done but he's VERY quiet. And usually doesn't say much-But this trip he was pretty good, he talked and seemed comfortable! Yay! I noticed him interacting a with them a few different times. In fact so much so I snapped the above picture--Isaac talking with my dad AND brothers. I dunno, it just seemed rare. Well...then I found out the truth. Kyler has his permit to sell guns and he was gun shopping. HA, So that explains it. Whatever it takes.

I'm pretty sure Kyler was showing him a gun in the picture. I know we bought a gun anyway. (Second one this trip.)

I had this great idea to take picture of them in front of the tree they'd set up all in their matching Jammie's so I'd have something for a Christmas card...FAIL!! Stinkers!!!

Tuesday we both got to go to the temple and I got to go on a little "date" with both of my big boys.
Colt really wanted to do a craft so we went to the dollar store. We ended up buying a sail boat to make and he wanted to buy a thing to do sand art too but instead we ended up "sand hunting" for different colors of sand around town and had a good time.

Cannon wanted a blue icee and to go hike around the Dixie rock. We did, then I drug him around on a few errands and we bought a little dollar store project for him too. (I can't believe I didn't get a picture.)

Isaac wanted to go swimming that night, I was game after feeding but once it gets dark he was game over it took too long to feed so we didn't make it but I just love the time we spend up to the feed yard! Its part of the trips home for me.

Wednesday morning we packed up for Emery County. Isaac is so funny, he came in to see how close I was to being ready to go...looked around at the piles of suitcases and laundry and said "I haven't been very helpful have I?" Haha at least he recognized it. And then he knew we'd be a few minutes getting out of town still. He played super dad and took the boys for a spin on the Rhino. And he did haul stuff up to the attic for my mom, and of course super dad took all 3 boys up with him...But LEFT THEM UP THERE with the door open while he came inside to see if there was anything else to go up. Oh brother...I freaked out of course.
When we got to Emery County it was Motorcyle time.

TanO LOVES IT!

Cann's zip'n around like a pro and even tried Chelsea's 65 today! Colt was hesitant but had a blast once he got back on! They had fun on the four wheeler and side by side too!

Its been PERFECT weather! So beautiful.

And more cousins and card games and fun. The boys are in heaven and have the tired eyes to prove it! (Tired. Onery....and totally worth it!)

Madi Jacob Eric and I bet Isaac that if he mixed the pink ice cubes with the green ones it would turn out brown! It basic understanding of the color wheel right?!?! Do you think we could convince him we won the bet--no way.

We had ANOTHER (sheesh I sure am using all caps a lot this post, sorry that's kindof annoying!) but AWESOME Thanksgiving.

And tonight the wave pool! Isaac seriously took Tanner off the diving board! He asked him if he wanted to and Tanner nodded. I could've killed him. It seemed strikingly familiar to when he took Colt down the slide at Stacy's parents house.

I told him I was strictly against it but I would still take pictures. Oh Tanner...you have no idea what you're getting into buddy...
