So last Saturday morning we were laying in bed and Isaac said “What do we have to do today?” To which I replied we had one last Soccer game (Seth’s) and Cannon and I had big plans to sit on our behinds and watch the BYU game. Oh and I comment that it would be in our best interest if I went to the grocery store.
That’s it.
We headed to the game maybe talking about dinner ideas for the trip to grocery store and Isaac said “Maybe we should celebrate fall sports being over by going to La Fuente.”
Sold!
Soccer was horrible, Seth’s team was lost 8,9?,10? -0 but who cares-it’s over! And the good news is the other teams coach I always see at the tennis courts. I coached the daughter on Seth’s basketball team last year and their son has played soccer with Tanner before. So I just said “Hey my oldest might want to try Tennis, what do you think?” And they were so awesome and totally willing to help Cann!!
I am THRILLED about the idea of Cannon playing tennis! I think it could be so good for him. I think he has a great build for it-and could be good. Mostly I love that he has to do it-doubles you have a partner but mostly it’s a game you play by yourself. He needs that where he can’t shy away from the moment.
Just go do your best-learn from whatever happens and get back to work!
Anyway. I was excited. And we survived soccer, and I did make it to the grocery store so all the boxes were checked and I was watching the ball game when Colt walked in the front door—I was surprised he and Isaac were back from mowing already. It was supposed to be fast with Colts help but a 1/2 hour? No way. He looked kinda up to no good but I didn’t know what or why when Grama and Grampa walked in the back door!
I had NO idea! Total surprise! And so dang fun! They came for the primary program! (Thank you Sister Browning for the conference talk that got them to come π and thanks to my brothers for tending the animals to make it happen!!)
So we did head to La Fuente and it was even better than expected!! (Apparently the original plan was to just see them there but they knew I wouldn’t leave a good ball game π€£…and they also knew just showing up in the congregation Sunday would throw me for a loop. They know me well, it worked out perfect!)

So fun-I know I already said that but it’s been such a great “bonus” kind of week!!
Sunday we survived the primary program—the kids did awesome!!! Grama and Grampa were so glad they came too! (And I’m glad it’s over)
Isaac and Chip mowed and have Rizzy’s cemetary looking great!! I’m super happy about that and I got some cardboard down and got it mulched today.
We’ve had the laser guns out-the tickle monster is definitely here! And Grama’s phone is always a hit!

Isaac has been wanting to get another saddle (pictured by Grama’s feet) so they could take all three horses out riding at once— Well, Grampa being here seems like a good reason to go get it done. He could kinda help coach Isaac up a little bit, on What was a good one and what not. They Came home with all kinds of junk—I mean tack. I probably should’ve zoomed in so you could see his grin and those spurs a little better.
This girl’s been a little hot and cold as far as whether she is going to have anything to do with Grampa or not, and how clingy she’s going to be to me in general but I caught them reading a story!
And Grama got her some sticker earrings—those two both like their bling!!
Grama and Grampa here mean donuts for after school snack π✅

Wednesday was the trunk or treat at the church-Addi wanted to be Santa right up until we were getting costumes on—Marshall again? Ok. Seth is a parrot. Tanner and I decided we probably better think things through a little better next year. But he’s…some kind of too small bird. Colt…just kept finding more and more random things in the costume box and having fun with them and Cann—saw this online and thought he could pull it off, I thought he looked pretty creepy. Bishop Stinson asked him to ditch the mask at the church so then he decided he was just somebody named “Ethan” off of Mission Impossible. Good enough. My Non movie watching self doesn’t even know who that is.
Because I serve in Primary I decided I better get on it so I grabbed Cann’s Chase jersey and the cosmo head and we called it good. Isaac found himself a seat in the gym. Ha!
The boys (and other youth) were in charge of games for the kids, while people decorated their trunks. They (all) did a great job!

I’ve never decorated my trunk, if I ever do I’m sure I’ll blog about it. The other fun thing was Seth’s buddy Kamden came! That made the night for Seth.
Thursday we had a “fake” Thanksgiving with Grana and Grampa! It’s was a feast—so I’m pretty sure I can feed them cold cereal in Novemberππ€£

Oh and Grama put Grampa to work sharpening my kitchen knives. Sweet!
Isaac got home a half hour before we were planning on eating…and wanted to ride his horses. So it was time to eat and…we ate later, after the sun had gone down. I never get used to it but whatever. Tan’s in the pics first but Colt actually went first. He couldn’t reach the stirrups-(part of why they decided they better actually shorten them for Tan) oh and no one bothered to tell him to hold the reins with one hand. And Randy was kindof being dumb…It was just a disaster —and unfortunately that seems so normal for me to write something was a disaster for Colt, poor kid. Thankfully he’s resilient!

Our delayed dinner was delicious!
It was kinda bam bam bam fake Halloween fake Thanksgiving then today real Halloween. The kids had parties at school but we didn’t do anything around here. They have plenty of candy!
Today I went to Seth’s fall party.
Isaac picked the big boys up from school and they headed to St Louis. They bought some more steel for the building on the way (left the trailer with the steel on it at the place) then headed to the temple. We have a stake temple trip tomorrow and Isaac is on the committee so he needed to go but I had no idea why he wouldn’t just make a plan and commit to going, but he was in on Grama and Grampa coming. We still hummed and hawed and eventually decided just he and the boys would go tonight, then find something fun to do (we ended up buying 6 flags season passes today π³ well there went my Christmas idea-oh well having them for longer will be more fun and I think I was pregnant with Seth the last time we had them so it’s been a while. Hopefully, we use them and have some fun with them. —We Actually, didn’t buy one for everybody tonight, but we will you just have to use them at your “home park” first and we might want that to be the one in KC) anyway those guys will help with the lunch tomorrow and then bust it back and Cannon will get to do the youth hunt in the evening. I thought all of the non-commitment was about that hunt and I was not amused, but sometimes it’s good to be wrong. We also thought about me going with them but…depending which Addi shows up that could’ve been long and miserable for Grama and Grampa. I’ll just have to get my own temple trip in another time.
Around here it was little Tag and a little tickle monster with Grampa. ππ»

McDonalds for dinner and watched game 6 of the World Series, ok only Grampa and I watched, and we’ll watch game 7 tomorrow!
What a great week.
Sometimes life is just good and you have to enjoy it!!
