This summer started out with Graduation, Isaac was done with his MBA, I was not quite done with my MEd, but true to our personalities when SUU sent out the email that said basically "you have to pay $50 to graduate" I sent a check, and Isaac was like "that's stupid, no way" So anyway I ended up paying $50 to walk and sit through a graduation. Whatever. Of course my Mom loved it, and my dad got drug along. Now that I really am done DONE though, I'm a pretty happy camper.
The first weekend of summer we went on the Pioneer Trek with our ward. We were an Aunt and Uncle for different families. We had super short notice about the whole deal but, I was dreading it none the less!!!! (Isaac of course had wanted to volunteer to go.) "All was Well" as it turned out, we had a good time.

In the middle of July we went to CA to watch the Cubs play the Dodgers. One of the most fun things was that we stayed in Anaheim and it was All-Star weekend. It was fun. Tommy Lasorda was at breakfast one morning, Mr. Cub was at the Friday night game, all of the hype was pretty fun. The cubs lost both games we saw :( but that's part of being a cubs fan! We also did a session at the Newport Beach temple, that was cool. We went to the beach a couple of times but it was too cold to get in the water. We didn't see the sun at all the whole time we were there, but it was great weather for wandering around checking out all the cool all-star stuff. It was a great way to start out my real summer! (The one where I wasn't finishing up my Master's degree.)
