Tanner was the photographer on that second one π
It definitely has the feel of a crazy week
I’m going to have to blog tomorrow though we’re in the middle of living Isaacs dream. We brought the motorhome to Nauvoo.
Tanner said “I should write an ‘I survived” book, I survived the trip to Nauvoo in the motorhome.”

I’m Pretty sure this blog is my attempt at being his co-author.
Ok it’s tomorrow
And I assure you I didn’t get anywhere near enough sleep to “keep the blog positive” yikes. It’s a 28 ft motorhome. We went to bed about 11:00. My pedometer watch resets at midnight and by morning I had about 300 steps…so that’s about how my night went.
Last Saturday was way to long ago to remember but I’m sure Isaac tinkered on the motorhome-that’s just a given. But if he (isaac) gets a nap then we’re all up SUPER late because the prime working time is in the evening after the suns gone down and it’s not so hot and well… the LONGEST day of the year was this last week.. sunset at 8:44 no thanks. Here’s to getting to bed sooner and sooner. π€π»π€π»π€π»
But last week I just kept telling myself eh Happy Fathers Day
Good thing Fathers Day is always by the longest day of the year ππ€£
Sunday I tried to snag some wall pics of the kids before church but here we are Sunday morning after being up too late
Zonked!
But we got the beginnings of a smile from sister.
She’s pretty dang fun!
Tanner does this cute thing we’re he says “sister sister touch my finger is you love me” but his fingers in this pic look like he’s the one saying I love you ππ€
I’ll keep trying on these but some of them I really like…
The other crazy thing was Cannon’s 11-I’ve been a parent for 11 years, after that long we have a little girl and Sunday my BOYS came home with dolls from primary! ???what???? The first dolls to grace my house are the brothers? I guess some of the primary presidency have a beef with the problem in society of fatherless homes and so this was there pitch to get all the little boys excited to be dads??? I don’t know. I think the church has always had higher/different standards and expectations than society so kinda barking up the wrong tree but whatever the boys gave sister their dolls.
Monday the boys wanted to earn money…that’s a lie they really wanted to spend money but they were willing to earn some first. Overall I think it cost me $7 and they were great little helpers-it was nice to have help recovering from the weekend bomb but I was having them do stuff I think they should help with anyway so maybe it wasn’t the smartest long term but whatever
I took them to Hobby Lobby and lectured them the whole way in about how we weren’t going to do that over and over but then we got there and the models they wanted that are usually 40% off weren’t, so then I was like eh come one guys don’t waste your money let’s try again next week. π€¦πΌ♀️
They were so disappointed!
But I had another trick up my sleeve-a couple of weeks ago we put together a goodie bag for the Moody’s that was really from the Speaks who are serving a mission and wouldn’t get to say goodbye. Well Sister Speaks sent me a check for it (I didn’t want to deposit it but I know she watches her account closely so I figured I’d better then hopefully we’ll just do something nice for them when they come back) but anyway she sent extra money for us to get a treat too-so since HobLob was a bust it was a good day to take the boys to DQ on the Speaks…and it got them to eat their lunch too!
So that was fun. Cannon had baseball that night too, it was late so we put Seth to bed, took Addi and left Colt and Tanner with a phone watching living scriptures. We came home and Seth was watching with them. Ok. It worked perfect though, as it started to get dark they called and we were actually on our way home but I thought it was so good that they called. They were just nervous with the darkness so they called as soon as they talked to me they were like oh she’s almost home let’s hurry and get back to watching. Ha! But later in the week we were doing come follow me and Tanner pretty much taught the lesson-I said “how’d you know that?!” He said “we watched it on living scriptures” sweet! They watched other stuff too but I was pumped!
Tuesday Seth had a well check so I left the big boys with Isaac and took Addi and Seth. As soon as the nurse came and called his name we stood up I had Addi in my left arm I reached for the diaper bag and —-she Launched! Puke everywhere-but Seth’s head caught a good chunk of it. He just stood there-frozen. Of course I took a picture. He was a sport but yikes.
My Mulberry fun. When Seth doesn’t like what I make for dinner (so everyday lunch and dinner) he says “I’ll just have mulberries.” It was actually pretty cool that there was Mulberry trees in this weeks CFM reading. Not super important but awesome for my kids to be able to make a connection.

He totally has a shiner on that right eye this week too, I’m not sure when he got it but I just thought he didn’t get his face washed off…sorry about trying to scrub your bruise buddy.

“Cannon will you hold Adalyn?”
“Can we watch MLB Gane of the Week?”
“Sure”
I always liked watching baseball with my Grampa-maybe she’ll like watching it with her big bro.

Swimming with dad!

Sister-you puke all over me and I’m not going to let you stay in pajama all day-your gunna have to get all cute π

Wednesday we had a bunch of friends over the boys had children and youth and Cann had baseball. I was taking pictures and decided I didn’t want the RAW files too so when I was trying to switch it I accidentally switched it to black and whiteπ€¦πΌ♀️
I’m blogging on my phone so I can’t even see the ball in this pic but he really did hit the middle of the ball and his head was down on it so I was happy. Since then we’ve been trying to work on his lower half and trying to get a little power from his legs-we want hits not one hop groundouts! He really would play baseball all the time if I would play with him but I don’t have time or hands to give him my undivided attention.

We try to find a few minutes here or there though. And my new favorite thing is when he asks for grounders put Tanner up to hitting off the Tee :)

Thursday the big boys paddled the canoe out to the new swim dock with the Pettits Vorkink’s and Pages but Tanner, Sister, and I hung back at the beach. It got a little more fun when our neighbors the Neff’s showed up and I got to chat with Brittany while Tanner was working on his sand project.
I can’t remember much else from Thursday-it was Grama’s birthday so we sent a video but that’s about it.
And Friday
Oh Friday
If I were Elder Bednar I’d say something like “I frankly to not have the words to describe…” the circus or the disasters of the first motorhome adventure.
Picture 4 boys running all kinds of stuff -needed and not- out to load that thing up.
Isaac had the cordless vacuume out there but he certainly hadn’t vacuumed with it!
We didn’t think through sleeping arrangements-there is no table bed because previous owners took it out so the dang thing only sleeps 4 ummm…there’s 7 of us. And where was I supposed to feed Addi? We just took hotdogs for dinner (oh but mr adventure was the grocery shopper and he’s pretty darn fun in adventure mode Cannon was like “mom check out this extra chocolate dad bought you!” But treats-check hot dogs and better ones for us-check check. Chips fruit all the good stuff we were set. Except, I forgot ALL the condiments. Whoops-I got distracted while packing the cooler-and it wasn’t like oh run to dollar general and get some _______. We didn’t have a car and had to weigh out whether it was worth going to get it in the motorhome or just do without. We forgot matches or a lighter to start a fire with—and wood to burn for that matter too. We did stop and buy a lighter on the way. The boys all have poison ivy we assume is from it being on the ground where they were picking up pine needles for the fire we scavenged wood for. Oh I know I’m forgetting some of the stories but who can remember ALL of this. We stopped to get water and I went to the camp showers to clean up Addi who had a blow out. (No water heater yet in the RV) I got back to the guys and there’s sign “waste water do NOT drink” Isaac says “they drank it” then I found out he did too. What???? From Tanner up CAN read. We looked Friday there were tons of temple appointments available-we get over there none for Friday. But tons Saturday should’ve reserved right then by Saturday morning the earliest was 11:00. Oh and back to those camp showers I reached down to shave my leg and there was a freaking spider on it. I’m telling you it was non stop one thing after another. But the temple was good-they dropped me off first and I hear “sister Ison…did you come in a bus?” The Bertolio’s we’re there and I got caught. (We love then he ministers to our family and is Seth’s nursery teacher) Isaac: “What, why would you be embarrassed???” I dunno Honey I dunno!
Putting a can of baked beans on the Engine to cook. I was hoping the folklore of them doing it as a kid would suffice but now my kids will have their own story.
Addi’s first trip to Nauvoo!!!
I really would’ve like to blog last night but service at the campground was minimal. Oh and it’s an RV place so we’re supposed to have our own bathroom right-we’ll the ones by camp were plain old outhouses.
Oh well
And the temple is why we go!
Oh dang it so late and I’m so tired but I love to tell stories-so obviously I married the perfect person for me-this guy will keep me in stories!!
But Coming home besides trying to get the kids to nap we were sweating to death turning the generator (which runs the AC) off to save fuel mileage, taking bets what it would be.
It took 34 Gallons of gas!!! We only went 103 miles!! That’s 3miles to the gallon! I’ve been cracking up since we figured it out. Telling Isaac it was our $500 Nauvoo trip. But luckily me-the former math teacher (hey that was a lot of kids ago) but luckily I can’t do math. Yeah it was only 103 miles but we drove home too so we actually got a whopping 6 miles to the gallon. Sweet π when we took off he was 50/50 on taking it to Utah, by the way back -and him watching that gas gage it was a firm no way!
So funny.
Such good stories.
And he did get me to drive it. Once we were home so he could look while he listened to the engine. There’s a clicking and he doesn’t like it!
Next weeks blog has got to be a let down…π€£
