Saturday or neighbors invited us to the Halloween Town Eggstravaganza in town...we weren’t thrilled about going but we’ve never done anything with those neighbors so we felt like we probably should go-it was super fun.
Mahomes stayed but we had a couple costume changes...

Above Seth is pointing back at the field-he wanted more! I took the big boys to their designated fields while Isaac stayed with Seth Tan and the neighbors. He said he had about four eggs and Seth would bring him one then when he turned to go get another one Isaac would just throw one of the ones he’d just brought back out-it was perfect-he was having a blast! As were the bigger boys!
But guess what the living room looked like after...

Darn.
Then just playing upstairs. Today there was no school and I made them clean up there-they hated it and I wonder why we have so much stuff???? Saving everything when we had one kid...ok...but when we have 4.5–we’ve gotta get rid of some junk!

What else?
These are just pics of the pics but here’s this years school pics: (Tan told me he did his best smile for me...🀣)

I don’t have a finished product (I thought they were still working on it but something about Cannon cut the mouth way too low and it would t stand up????) I don’t know but the best part of this pumpkin carving project was that it was 100% the boys! Maybe a small amount of adult supervision would have ended in a better finished project. But Isaac and I enjoyed our few minutes of peace instead 😊

This year was the first time the kids have got to dress up at school. Mahomes stayed -no pic 😏 mom fail- and colt switched again and went tiger. He won the “most original” costume award at his class and the green bag was his prize

We made some cookies...I had lots of help!

And they’ve been doing this funny Toy Story thing where they say “Andy’s coming” and everyone flops on the floor and doesn’t move.

Tonight we have the Baker kids over and it hide and seek/Ghost in the graveyard and who knows what else. Lots of giggling while I blog though. And a late night.
Isaac and Cannon are supposed to go hunting. Cannon prays they’ll get something and I pray they won’t!

I’ll report who wins out next week
(Please be me please be me please be me 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻)

Oh man another week gone by. Saturday the boys scouted out their hunting spot and we met our new missionaries. I can’t remember much else.

Sunday the only pic I took was of my rashy foot-I’ll spare ya- but we did have a super fun highlight that day because we went to dinner at the Williams and the Bakers came too! So fun!! It was just great to get to visit with both families. Naomi said “I miss 2nd ward” I thought Ha-you guys this is where it’s at. We have such good friends in the 1st ward, hopefully when this coronavirus thing ends we’ll get to do more together.
Naomi also made the kids little Halloween bags-so nice! We stayed so late at the Williams that I didn’t let them touch them until Monday after school. They were a hit though! Cannon is in the background diligently practicing piano because that was the price to get to watch the rescheduled Chiefs game on amazon prime. Truthfully we both loved watching it and it was perfect! It was a 4:00 start on a night Isaac ended up having to work late. We ate dinner at half time it was pretty fun. Colt watched a little with us but mostly Cannon and I just watched while the younger boys played it was fun. Definitely something I did a lot of as a kid-watching ballgames with my dad and Grampa-so kind of nostalgic,  but not something we do much of.

And don’t mind that Seth decided to ditch his pants-but I love it when this kids dive into books. I pick up a lot of books off the floor but I think it’s worth it.
Then just Tann living the good life trying to catch some rain...and Sethy following

Wednesday we brought Cohen home with us but Grama had a great idea and told us she was buying and to go get Waffle cone Wednesday...so we did! Yum!

Tonight was the ward trunk or treat -not sure why it was so early- but Cannon wanted to be Patrick Mahomes and the other boys were good with just picking something out of the costume box. Sweet. (Somehow I need Cannon to recognize how spoiled he is....hmmm...but I know it’s ultimately my fault,  I’m to blame but...I had fun with this too) Actually I’d bought the football uniform for a couple bucks probably over a year ago and Tann and I worked our magic with the silhouette to make it the Mahomes. It was fun. I was too cheap to buy a helmet so he had to settle for a $6 wig. I thought it was hilarious!

The trunk or treat was perfect. Short sweet fun-the kids had a blast! Good enough for us! And we had a lot of fun with that silly wig.

But I think that’s about it-unless you want to see how come follow me goes around here...

And I just got these pics from Tans teacher today-kinda fun.

😑 I had a novel typed out and I didn’t push publish. It usually saves automatically. Oh well.
Dang. I don’t really want to start over. It was a big rash  vent but maybe if I’m up in the middle of the night-again- I’ll retype it.
So the shorter version of the week:
Saturday Isaac had to work in the morning -dumb because no prospective students are going to go to a virtual Truman showcase. Oh well. We went to a baptism that afternoon and had the missionaries over that night. Good thing too-we knew Sister McMillan was headed home but we didn’t think we would lose Sister Broschinsky too. Bummer. We love the missionaries-I’m sure we’ll love the next ones too.

Sethy...cute but trouble!

He’s a tornado!
Colts enjoying school. And I hope we’re turning a corner on reading 🀞🏻🀞🏻🀞🏻

Tanner bought a model tank this week. I’m pretty sure there was some Cannon influence there. I told Isaac we need to do more together and I got invited to help then put it together.

Oh I had no idea. What a pain in the butt I won’t being taking any of them back to Hobby Lobby to buy more. Sorry Guys and truthfully I only lasted a few minutes then I was on Seth the destroyer duty.
Other than that rash rash miserable rash! Oh the rash actually isn’t so bad it’s the itch. The steroid creams actually help the rash but not the itch. It’s weird.

At some point I better tell the story of our little brother here on the blog. Friday’s I’m just to tired and since the allergies hit-drugged!
Last June when we drove home from Montana it was the worst cross country drive EVER!!! It waa a couple hours longer than usual but a million times worse! I didn’t know why. Then we got home and I tried to start running a little-with any luck drop some Sethy weight, but I was dealing with that stupid foot injury from wrecking Sabrinas motorcycle that got infected Ug. I even said to Isaac do you think my body fighting that infection could be making me so tired? But we soon found out that wasn’t it and I guess Seth won’t be the baby forever after all-that drive was the worst ever because I was pregnant although I had no clue. Our next little brother will be here around Feb 5th. Making him and Seth our closest 2 kids! Yikes! 5 Little boys-my own little basketball team, I always liked basketball, oh and speaking of which Cannon was super bummed I can’t coach. Sorry buddy-they don’t even start until almost January this year! That’s too close.
And on that little brother note—I’m getting kind old!!!! Hopefully these boys are keeping me young 🀞🏻

But anyway that little bit of info will make me telling (complaining) about the rash make a little more sense. Actually I purposely didn’t email the blog last week because it was too much of a rash rant. Ha-here comes the next one:
Truly though as mentioned here on the blog several times the seasonal allergies have kicked my trash this year-so bad! But I don’t like to take anything when I’m pregnant but it was getting unbearable so I toughed it out until I had an dr appt so I could ask what can I take what should I take and so on. My Dr said oh those medicines seem to be fine in pregnancy just pick one. Naturally I picked the cheapest one πŸ™„πŸ€£ great,  medicine on board things should get better right? Nope. But I took the rest  of It hoping maybe it was helping a little but I was anxious to switch. I had terrible itchy eyes by time bought and started the next one-super itchy turned quickly to swollen. Miserable. But my mom came after a few days and brought yet another kind of allergy medicine with a different active ingredient so I switched again. It helped with the swelling but didn’t tough the itching. Within a few days I’d started to develop a rash-mostly on my tummy. Throw in some environmental factors like we plant the whole front yard then I plant the wheat we mixed in. But no worries I’m headed back to the Dr. -nope- he has a delivery so they reschedule me for 10 days later. I have ridiculously pink eyes  (here’s a little sample of the eyes circus over WEEKS I actually had to recover several of these when I was trying to piece everything together)

Anyway so at that point just my eyes were like the top left pic and I itchy everywhere. I say “ok that reschedule is fine but I needed to talk to him about itching everywhere” they were like “oh sure, we’ll have a nurse call you” she does I explain the best I can they have me go in the next day and get my blood drawn to make sure my liver is working and they refer me to derm-she makes and appointment for me-for two weeks from then...oh and they tell me to take the second medicine (Allegra) and double it up with Benadryl
Ok
I took it twice. Immediate swollen eyes. I took the Benadryl 4 times as I suffer through the weekend but it was a disaster. Monday called (notes in last weeks post) and the got me right in. They diagnosed it as a pregnancy rash “PUPPS” (that people usually get with their first pregnancy πŸ™„) and gave me some steroid ointments. Great. Eyes-fixed! Magic! Rest of me...significantly better after one day, the rash was less red. Mostly clears it from my belly and tops of my thighs but then it stalls. Oh and they want me doubling up on the Claritin stuff and Benadryl at night. I don’t love that but I do it because it seems dumb to seek medical advice only to ignore it. Anyway  the rash rages on spreading all over my arms and legs. Friday I saw the OB he takes one look at my arm (He also saw my mostly cleared belly but raging rash sides when he measured me) and says “there are lots of derm things that can happen in pregnancy but that’s not one of them” ...hmm...great... he also said ask the derm people if they thought I should see an allergist. Basically he was like I know you’re miserable but everything I take care of looks good (phew-really so glad little buddy is fine but ahhhhh) so I continue to itch. It’s not getting better-at all.
I suffer through last weekend. Then I went back Monday to derm where I saw a different resident (not our friend I saw last week because his wife was having their baby) but the new gal is like “no it’s definitely PUPPS look at these pictures” 🀦🏼‍♀️ As if I couldn’t google the images myself. And when I asked her about an allergist she chuckled oh and she suggested a biopsy. Thankfully they have some checks and balances in place and the real Dr comes in next, he was like no a biopsy isn’t going to tell us anything. But they gave me a way more powerful steroid and wanted me to keep on the antihistamine-I said ok but that I wanted to switch kinds.
So basically we all know I’m miserable but derm thinks it’s PUPPS the OB is like no way and I think I’m allergic to the stupid antihistamines. I know no one is allergic to them and they are what you take when your allergic to something else but I didn’t have any of this madness before I took the dumb things! So at this point medical advice or not I quit.
So that’s not all the details but that’s not exactly the short version either😬
I could have just stopped with itching everywhere is ruling my life ahhhh!!!!!!!!!
Oh by on a happier note-how bout that front lawn!!!

Until next week!

Friday, October 9, 2020

Oh man what a week. Conference was good! We enjoyed listening. Sometimes I miss watching but it is not worth trying to stream it with our weak internet. But the week for me boiled down to dealing with my raging rash. My eyelids were swollen again last weekend-so Monday I called the dermatologist office and said I have an appointment in two weeks but I have a raging rash all over my body and miserable red itchy eyes now! I need to come sooner!” Really it was a big debate with Isaac and I which one of us should call because he figured I’d just let them tell me they didn’t have any opening and he was like no way they have to get you in-so he was going to call-but then he had students he was helping and busy and when he called they put him on hold and then he had to go so I had to call and they said “how about today at 3?” I said “I’ll take it” and I thought “God bless whoever canceled!... And Michaila for tending my kids!” So I got some steroid ointments and they want me to take antihistamines....nooooooo I didn’t have any of this before I started those but I figured I could do it for a week. We’ll see, I saw immediate improvement, my eyes seemed pretty normal after 2 days but I keep putting that stuff on them. My body though...basically it helped with the rash-not the itching at all, ever, and now I seem to have a totally different rash. Ug whatever-lots of itching! Lots of up in the night itching but if I’m looking for positives I LOVE waking up to a clean house and I can be pretty dang productive in the middle of the night when little hands aren’t undoing everything I do!
Let’s see what the pics tell as far as our other shenanigans...
Oh yeah it’s been beautiful weather and they’ve been riding motorcycles. The 50’s not running great so everyone’s been riding the 65. Tan thinks he’s a big shot!

I love that you can see Isaac trying to slow him down in the above pic 🀣
Cann loves it and Colt tolerates the motorcycles.

I have one pic -not posted-of his eyes brimming with tears-he didn’t wreck or anything he just got nervous.
And Sethy just waits for his turn.

Colt got a positive office referral this week.

These two goofs are my morning buddies. Just snuggling on the chair then so proud of himself for sharpening the pencil.

We hung out with the Bryant kids while the big brothers had children and youth. It was fun.

Little fence’n job.

Fall leaves and friends— the best!

And Isaac conducting  the “smell test” on his business idea with the students. 🀣🀣🀣

Oh brother!

I think that’s all I’ve got. Until next week!
