What a week! Saturday was Colt’s birthday so we started with a few presents.

He’s been pretty excited about that 3-D pen ever since Cannon got one for his birthday.

And spank’ns of course -worth it for the 20 bucksπŸ˜‰
And after that and some French toast we headed down to the church and he got baptized!

It was really cool with 3 kids getting baptized and great support for all there were actually too many people there for everybody to fit in the room with the font so that was an exciting —and rare for Kirksville-dilemma. But one of the coolest thing was Tanner during Colts confirmation. Colt and Tan are pretty close and in the middle of the blessing Tanner said to me “mom my eyes are leaking, and I can’t get them to stop!” It was really freaking him out because he didn’t equate it with crying at all because he wasn’t sad but he couldn’t figure out why his eyes wouldn’t stop leaking. It ended up just being a really tender thing -he was supposed to say the closing prayer and that was touch and go for a while but he pulled it together and he did an awesome job! So it was a really a great day for Colt and it was pretty neat for his brothers too.
After the baptism we slipped over to Izzy’s party at the park briefly and then headed home for Colt’s.
We had the zip line going (I swear Isaac and I both had to of hauled  kids up that hill 30 times-we need a better return plan!) the slack line, ninja warrior course (and some kids still wanted to go inside 🀯 we mostly stayed out though! We should’ve had those things like on screen doors have where they pull the door shut  automatically though because the doors just kept getting left open and there were so many flies oh man it was a disaster! My kids know to shut the door or there’s going to be a butt chew’n but man I can only “yell nicely” at others so many times 🀣) but anyway we roasted hotdogs and ate cupcakes and popsicles. And it was a good time.

Grama and Grampa wisely slipped out and started their long drive while all the party and chaos was going on -that was a lot easier on Tan he even commented that evening that he didn’t cry when they left but he made sure I knew that he was still sad they were gone!
Sunday Isaac needed a picture of himself in a suit and tie I was happy to oblige. He didn’t like this one but he’s not the author of the blog so I can put it on if I want, πŸ˜‰ and I think we got one that was good enough for what he needed that he was OK with. But look at that smile, I think he’s a keeper 😊

We also had our friend Jane over for dinner and since Saturday was so jampacked we didn’t really get to Colt‘s birthday cake so we got to do that Sunday

That night we rode over to Riz’s grave as a family Tanner made it on his little one speed the whole way (plus to the Maclanahan’s first) it was impressive!

He was pretty proud of himself too.
Monday we met the teachers
Tanner Mrs Freeney kindergarten
Colt Mrs Gordon 2nd grade
Cannon Mrs English 5th grade

And Tuesday was the first day of school

and good grief by Friday blog day summer feels like a distant memory! We’re in full swing!
After school on Tuesday Hayley,  Michaila and I ambushed the kids with water balloons -well that was a plan- it might not have worked quite to perfection but we still had a fun little celebration of  the first day of school with a water fight!
Wednesday it was football for Cann and Colt Thursday more football for Cann and meet the soccer coach for Colt, a parent night at football and the annual school of business picnic and by today…we’re tired!
Seth and I are getting a long pretty good, I thought he’d miss his brothers like crazy but really he just likes the mom time and having me all to himself. If you ask him who his teacher is he says “mom” πŸ‘πŸ»
The first day we ran all over town (4 stops really) looking for water balloons and the second day I didn’t finish but I kicked tail on the house…but as soon as everyone came home it looked like it always does so…that took some wind out of my sails! I haven’t been quite as ambitious since. Darn. But Sethy and I have been trying to mow a little everyday and keep up with the grass.
We went to the cemetery one day-I definitely miss being able to go in the mornings. I’ve been missing that little guy a lot this week but I think I finally figured it out it’s probably just cuz Seth and I are here by ourselves and I wish he were here too.

Someday!

Tonight we went to the football game cuz Cann and his teammates got to help form the tunnel for the varsity kids. (But we missed Colt’s cuz I didn’t realize games started ALREADY! Whoops.) And then just some of the pics I found on my phone. Some I took-some not!

Oh and watch this 3 seconds video I found if you wonder how kindergarten is going🀣 he was so worried about it…I think he’s doing fine!

2nd grade hasn’t been quite as smooth but hopefully It’s coming along. And Mr Social who got in a class with a bunch of his buddies is sailing right along loving 5th grade.

Bout it!

Grama and Grampa got here Saturday (oh man I should’ve just told the kids Sunday—that was a long day with hundreds of “how much longer?” Questions. But they made it and we love having them!

Sunday vibes

Cannon bought a sling shot the other day and the BBs shoot up fast but the rocks don’t go as straight so  they Figured out making  clay BBS. Good times.

Monday was project city!

Really so was Tuesday…and all week!

Look at either of the two pics ahove…safety’s really not out thing.
Grama and the kids making homade donuts-and Grampa’s “making” store bought.

No really after all that work Tanner told Grama he liked the store bought ones better. We need to work on Tact and manners around here! But Grampa and him when one morning to get the ones he likes and Seth doesn’t care which 🀣

Check it out front steps and trim around the door!!!
Now I just need to paint that porch and maybe I wouldn’t be embarrassed to have people gone to the front door! I think it looks awesome!

They painted the ugly yellow part on the back door that I hated  too while we were at the temple. They are the best!  And Grampa thought he was going to be bored and not have projects-ha yeah right! And He mowed my ENTIRE YARD! (And over at the cemetery too) it looks so good. The whole yard hadn’t been done all  at once since Kyler was here!!
Oh and Seth helped by painting the arm of  Riz’s bench. Thanks buddy. He said “Rizzi would like it.” I got most of it off -there’s a little bit of lingering love from Seth though.

But we’ve definitely played hard too!

And we got to go to the temple today-it was awesome. Since we had good baby sitters that we weren’t paying (shoot they even bought dinner tonight πŸ‘πŸ») we drove over to Montrose Iowa on the way home. Isaac dreams one someday owning  riverfront property with a view of the temple!! You can’t tell but the temple is right between our two heads and while the picture doesn’t do it justice at all In real life if is pretty cool.
Tonight we threw Colt a cake together. Hr wanted it to have a 3D pen on it…we tried!

And here’s the slideshow link for his baptism!
This one is just him but I did one with him and the other two kids getting baptized that we will play while they are changing.

Tomorrow should be a great day!
