Saturday was busy. I had RS then we had to clean the church then we were late for the baptism Isaac was conducting oh and the baby shower at the church in the middle off all of that was for the gal I minister to’s grandson. Whoops!
But that was just chaos-not that bad.
Sunday morning Isaac took off early and I got the kids loaded up-almost late-only to have to go back in because 2 of them didn’t have coats (in the 5 degree weather), and then I was turning off lights, grabbing pop tarts they had planned to eat in the car-and I run back out. Jumped in the van—threw it in reverse cranked the wheel so when I headed down I would grab new snow with my front tires and CRUNCH! I slammed right into the broke down skid steer-same one that had been there in plain sight for 4 days-and same one Isaac had warned me to be careful of at least 3 times. Ug.
And grab new snow nothing-I wasn’t going anywhere.
I called him.
He said to just drive the truck.
I didn’t want to drive anything but he was supposed to present names for his high council calling so he couldn’t come get us. So we piled in the truck and we were late. Isaac didn’t present the names until the end anyway???
But it was a cruddy morning.
It really only ruined the bumper—pretty amazing it sounded worse than that.
Isaac wasn’t near as mad about it as me-even though he warned me several times.
When he came home he said “The cost is worth it if I learn to be more careful.” …I think he was trying to be positive…I didn’t love that comment though. I would say something more like it would be worth it if I could learn to separate stupid things I do from who I am as a person.
Eh it sounds easy when I type it up but…
It totally ruined the day!
We still limped through some kids interviews.
And Cannon talked Isaac into watching most of the Chiefs game. Tanner cannot handle the emotional ups and downs of a ballgame…but “you can’t do anything about it” comments I made to him kinda helped me put the wreck in perspective—or at least know it should have.
Anyway that night we went to bed thinking they were finally going back to school.
I got up Monday morning-had lunches made-Isaac was going to take Cannon in because of the roads and he came in from starting the car as asked if I’d heard anything from the schools, I said “no” and he said there was a “layer of ice on the car” then right before the walked out the door
Hmm ok—I guess we’ll go back to bed.
When I tell them not to I get this:
And when I kick them outside…
π€·♀️
Snow day or not it was so much warmer (30’s) than last week we all did get outside…but the stupid horse is just too friendly-he was driving us crazy!
They did finally go back to school on Tues-late start. And Isaac took the and they did get stuck-mostly because someone else had so they had to stop and push him out then he came back and helped push them out. (I was so thankful Isaac took them!)
Cannon got to scrimmage Noah’s team in basketball with some of his buddies-then he talked me into going to the varsity game after. Wednesday was children and youth and stuff and somewhere in there I realized my new phone has a crack in the screen. ππ» I have no idea what or when it happened-it’s not bad-yet-but still a bummer! so the pictures have slowed …I need to be careful so I just don’t have it handy as much. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise…
But I did have it for this
He’s worried about rust so we came home to him laying on a tarp (mostly) in the snow spraying off the undercarriage.
Left my phone (and kids) unattended in the car and found these
Why?
More random:
And today’s the 26thππ» I asked Isaac if the day bothers him at all and he said “I don’t keep track of days.” I knew that. So I told him we found out Riz had died on the 26th…
But look at this girls smile? I have a lot to be thankful for!!

I think that’s about it.
I think that’s about it.
Oh but I did carve out one on one time with Cann Colt and Tanner this week—and Seth and Isaac got a little tonight so I felt like we were winning!!
