Oh man I pretty much forgot to blog. We’re laying in bed—Isaac isn’t snoring yet but it’s close and Sethy is playing with my hair (his favorite way to fall asleep) and I just remembered it’s Friday!
The long and short of it is we made it to Utah! And we’re having a good time. Seth traveled better this time-thank heaven. And who know what else but I’ll try and throw on a few pics.
I took these two pics thinking I always wanted to remember how good these two play together...

It was a curse ALL of them fought the rest of the day. Ug!
Sethy trying to get in on their Outfoxed game.

A trip to a Walmart tire center is pretty standard procedure for us on a trip to Utah.

It worked out alright and we were glad we found it before they closed! We also got to stop and see the Tilton’s!!!!!!!! So good for my soul, man we love and miss that! But it was fun and then back to the road! We got to Grandma Ison’s and Isaac and I showered and napped while the kids and Grandmas rode bikes, went to the library and park, and she fixed lunch. The original plan was to spend the night but we hit the rode for St George that afternoon. Ug so much driving. I think Isaac was trying his best to get me a little more time with my family since we thought we had the whole week after the “Ison family fun week” but now we are going to have to get back because of a trip to StL that he will go on with the youth and I will stay behind! 👍🏻 But it’s good to be here and I’m just thankful for any time we get.
We got to meet the new dog Patch.

Pillow fights!

Park with cousins

Shooting the marshmallow gun with Grandpa.

Reunited with Grandpas tractor-ha!

Swimming at Grandma Kays with Riley and Alaina (but I didn’t get a picture of them)

The kitchen help.

And a trip to Shoal Creek. My abs Kami had other plans but dropped them to hang out with us—so nice!!! And the kids had a blast-of course!

Attack of the bumble bees—again!

Good thing they bought a skid steer with an enclosed cab. Yikes. They ran into the bees tearing down the boy’s fort and Sethy got the worst of it. Then they ran into more when they were tearing down the hill -oh I should’ve taken a picture, the hill is gone! Anyway at least that time Isaac was able to shut the cab up and stay safe...he’s more motivated to fix the AC on that thing now though.
Poor Seth-it was rough.
He got stung 5 times but that one under his eye was the worst.

One on his shoulder and 3 more on his head-mean little cusses. By Sunday evening it was mostly gone. But Saturday night was rough! I tried to keep him drinking but he couldn’t keep anything down!
Glad we survived it!
Who knows what these guys were up to but this was Monday and they were having fun!

Mostly the week kind just went by. One morning Colt asked what the plan was-I answered  “nothing, we have no plan-like usual”
Thankfully we did get to play with the Pettit’s a little yesterday and today.
In the next pic You can’t even tell what he’s sitting on but it’s the toy skid steer-he’s always wanting to run it like the real one. And pretty much all the pics are of him this week but whipped cream...the kids living his best life. (He dug it out of the trash-stinker)

Tan and I got to hit Waffle cone Wednesday for a mini kid date-he’s always asking when it’s Wednesday so we can go.

Isaac took all four boys canoeing while I had YW I think they had fun-they come back with stories but not pics.
And today we got in on a little service project, an elderly man with Dementia wandered off from his home and we went to help look for him.  We didn’t have any luck but we’ll keep him in our prayers. The boys were especially happy when they got to look from the truck bed. It was pretty hot walking around.

We’re hopefully Utah bound next week but I’m not sure I’ve recovered from the last go around. That drive and Seth are a terrible combination and I’m not looking forward to it. But I’m sure we’ll have fun once we get there.

Last week our friends the Bryant invited us to go down to Columbia with them. We checked out a cave called “Devils Icebox” and it was cool when we were actually in the cave but mostly it was a super hot sweaty day!!! After the boys played in the river then we hit a little splash pad too. (And since my most hated thing of any given day is figuring out what to have for dinner there’s a chance my favorite part was that we picked up pizza and yummy salads and I didn’t have to worry about it. Wahoo!)

It was super fun but it was also a long day!!
Sunday Isaac was gone alllll day church’n it. It was a little rough with the troops but oh well. The missionaries came over that night-Isaac got home just in time. Monday he was supposed to be at Bishop Sorhus’ at 5-they we’re going to get the skid steer but he must have been excited or something because he was up at 3:30 and he was NOT quiet! He sounded like and elephant stomping around the house.
When he finally got home that night the first thing he said was “oh I thought these guys would be in bed” I admit it was late-but it was the wrong thing to say! They’d been so anxious to see him and hear all about it and I’d talked to him at 6:30 when  he was at the Adam-ondi-ahmen turn off, which is only and hour and a half away. I thought he’d be home by 8. He wasn’t.  Oh well.
That day the boys and I masked up (even Sethy wore his most of the time) and went to Walmart. We just wanted out of the house!!!!! and they hadn’t  been in a store for 4 months. I bought hot wheels, doughnuts, sugar cereal, and pretty much any thing else that looked good. Haha!! Well really what happened is we went down to piano and we were hanging out at Michaila’s when I walked in and her house was spotless-I was blown away- we’d just left a complete disaster!! But I was inspired, like hey it can be done!!! So when we got home we hit the job charts hard and the boys were troopers, the did awesome! So once the house was livable I was totally game to take them to Walmart. I’m pretty easy to buy off-you’d think they’d figure it out! 😉
Oh and we played with balloons too. They had some fierce volleyball matches (undocumented 😏) but Seth is hilarious backing up and sitting then bouncing on the balloons-he loves it.

Tuesday Colt got to go down to Saige’s birthday party while Tanner and Cannon headed with Isaac over to Bishops to work on the skid steer (did I mention the one he bought had control “issues” ...of course right? No one reading this is surprised!)
When I went down to get Colt we found out Sis Vorkink their piano teacher got her hand in a table saw that morning. It is really bad. We are praying so hard for her! I know they couldn’t really do anything for her here and that she had surgery in Columbia today. I’m not sure if they were able to save her fingers or not. It’s super sad!
Eventually Isaac called and said I should probably come get the boys-hey at least that way I get pictures.

He finally ended up just bringing it home, they’d fixed a lot but were stuck the bucket still wasn’t working and he needed to pressure wash it before he could do any more. The boy’s were so happy to have it here!!

Ole Sethy just turns his nose up at riding on the lawn mower now-he wants to run the skid steer!! Pretty opinionated for a 1 year old! Anyway Isaac had the door off while they were working on it-so as not to get stuck inside of the bucket did raise and then wouldn’t lower. He just decided well there’s some wiring in that door I think I’ll put it back on and viola it worked! It’s wired like a safety of some sort. Anyway he was happy to have it working and reported back when he took Bishops trailer and Dan’s truck back. It was another late night.
Wednesday Seth had a well check-these dang masks, it’s a crazy world these boys are growing up in! He only had to get one shot but he didn’t cry at all. Little tuffy-I was impressed.

Yesterday they tore up some stumps in the yard and then were welding something on it-I dunno, I can’t keep track.
Below is a fun little sample of Cannons writing. With the job charts we try to do a little reading writing or math.

And this kids a helper I tell you! But as soon as his brothers saw this mess it automatically looked like a track for cars to them.

I went a long with it for a few minutes.
Tonight they are camping out to Hurdland with the Pettit’s and a few other families. They have been looking forward to it all week!! Hopefully they have fun (and hopefully the mess they bring home is containable) I kept Seth and we ran a few errands so they could get away without a complete meltdown.  He’s in bed now and it sure is quiet around here! That’s good occasionally 😉

Another Summer Week

It’s hot and humid and yuck! Cannons Mr Social and I am all peopled out. Ha! But it’s true,  he asked if we could do something fun today (which means with friends to him) and I was like No Way-I just want to stay home and not have anyone come over.
Truth.
Saturday we played tennis with the Pettit’s. We did that a lot in Mississippi but have only tried once here-the court was awful. But this time we went to the High School, it was really fun, and it keeps the kids entertained pretty well.

I ran away that afternoon just for a little break. I told Isaac “you go to work but I’m always here with the kids” but I went in two (lame) stores and came out empty handed. I ran into a good friend in one and we chatted for a while. She wasn’t kid free and her daughter was asking for things every 30 seconds so...while I was glad it wasn’t my kids I came home and  told Isaac I really don’t feel like I’ve been kid free for an hour. Darn.

The worst part of my adventure wasn’t that I came back to a little guy with grease in his hair-that’s to be expected 🤣 it was that Isaac called me and told me to pick up our favorite Mexican food takeout. SOLD!!! But when I called the restaurant there was no answer I don’t know if it was because it was the Fourth of July or what but my mouth was salivating ....and then I had to come home and cook dinner. It was a bummer!
We took the boys down to the church parking lot to ride their rollerblades while Isaac cleaned the church a little before Sunday’s meetings and then we were going to watch the fireworks. Little did we know that was the place to watch fireworks —it was a party!!! We had tons of fun with tons of friends, and especially loved getting to see the Moody’s!

Sunday’s disaster... he must have pinched the tube or something when he did the tire on the motorcycle.
It was a nightmare.

Borrowed a neighbor of the churches compressor but had to stop 3 more times on the way. We had to come in with the compressor and follow him. (Cuz he was at the 60 and over mtg without us) Oh and a stop at harbor freight on Sunday to buy an air chuck. My vote was to leave that ox right where it was in the mire but after I expressed that opinion once I decided whatever it wasn’t worth the contention.
The good news is round two it really is fixed.
That is truly one of the biggest differences between Isaac and I, things like that don’t rattle him at all. I’m like no way-you should have just paid to have it done right the first time. Him-never when can figure things out Himself-eventually. The cost? So many hours. But I care way more about time than him.
Oh well...anyway
Monday the missionaries were coming over so we had milkshakes! Yum. But then it was going to be after 8 before they got here-I was like ummm how bout we reschedule? These troops need to head to bed! Isaac scores on their milkshakes later in the week.

We also got to play with the Pettit’s on Monday and had Cohen over on Tuesday! Wednesday it was to the beach where we met up with a few ward friends and Trevor and Aimee’s family (Trevor and Isaac work together.) Thursday Dinner on the floating dock with Ray and his friends the Cody’s.

And while we’ve had a lot of fun, I was totally ready for a stay home no people day! Too bad I didn’t get a clean house out of it—that would have been awesome!! But we did work on the porch a little more.
Isaac took the big boys out in the canoe tonight-Seth was furious he had to stay, but it’s late and he was tired, and I guess I’m a mean mom but he finally did give in.

Oh and how could I forget yesterday might’ve been the best day of Cannon‘s life. Isaac bought this little gem he’s going to get it on Monday.

It doesn’t come with a bucket so they’re looking for one of those and he really hopes to just use it around here for a little while and then sell it but he has some pretty happy little boys they have been playing equipment like crazy ever since.

This weeks children and youth art project:

Tanners nod to Charlie Daniels 🤣

And hot/humid or not these boys love their motorcycles!

I’m sure I’ll have more stories to tell next week.
