We have had a really fun week. Monday we went down to hang out with my mom, we were going to run a couple of errands, while we were there Klint and his family showed up. It ended up being a heck of a family day, we stayed all afternoon, made dinner together (I was feeling pretty smart showing my mom how I make Chicken enchiladas...that's rare, usually its the other way around) it was a fun impromptu way to celebrate Pioneer day. We also got to meet our new neighbor Keegan, he and Cannon will be buddies for sure! I noticed us slipping into a pretty sedentary lifestyle with the July heat, so Cann and I have made a point to get out on a couple of walks again when Isaac leaves for work. Its hot out there but I feel better about it so that's good. We went for a family swim...same pool as last time but last time it was bath water warm...not this time. Cann was hate'n it-so it didn't last long but it was fun to spend the evening together as a family. We went to lunch with two of my best friends Wednesday, lunch was delicious and the company was even better. Thursday Grampa Chip tended while we went to the temple it was great to go do sealings! Friday we got to visit with Matt, Nichole, & Lilah. She's growing so fast we hadn't seen her since she was about 2 months old. It was so fun to visit and catch up. Isaac worked on his trees that night too and finished them (except the stakes) Saturday morning.
Friday when we were out for our walk Bro Orr gave us some HUGE zucchini, so Saturday while Isaac was messing with his tree project I was feeling super domestic as I grated it up so I could freeze it and we made some zucchini bread and muffins with part of it too. Cann Man was swing'n away watching me when Isaac came into play with him. He relieved him of his burdensome socks -Isaac hates that I always have socks on him, but I'm kind of old school with that I think ya keep their feet covered- anyway he said "he's bleeding, he's got a cut between his toes" I felt so bad...and neglectful-for not even knowing it was there. So when I got my hands cleaned up and went to check it out it was red sock LINT, I was glad he wasn't cut (I couldn't figure out how it would have happened) and I think Isaac had his contacts in but for his sake-lets say he didn't and that's why he thought it was blood.
The other day my mom came up to our house, once she got inside she said "Open the door, let some hot air in and cool this place off" I thought of that when I noticed the beads of sweat on Cannon's head while he was eating, I wiped them off, then again, and again...maybe I should have turned the AC down a little. I guess its July...what do I expect? but after today its not :)
I was hope'n to cut Cannon's hair today-get rid of his old man ring but it hasn't happened yet, maybe later. I told Isaac we need one more person, one to hold him, one to cut it, and one more to be the picture taker :)

SUPERMAN! When I taught P.E. one of the exercises we'd have the students do was "supermans" Both arms are supposed to be out but, Cann's pretty much got them down! Really its his "why'd you set me down?" position.
Mostly uneventful week-a pleasant change to say the least! Isaac started his new job and even mentioned the potential he sees in the company. I was happy to hear that because that is definitely a part of business he likes, growing it. I like the income and insurance as its already established side of things! Friday Grandma and Grandpa Ison came down. Little Guy loved the heck out of being spoiled by his Grandma. She did dare to set him down once after he fell asleep in her arms (that totally wasn't on his agenda-and he let her know it) but it was fun. I think there is something special about kids relationships with their grandparents so game on, the more time the get to spend with'm the better! Coy and Georgette came over and we all ate dinner then they went to Tuachan. (Little Mermaid got good reviews from them.) Saturday we were going to hike to Kanaraville falls. (Isaac has been on extra duty a little helping my grandparents though because everyone else was out of town and Grandpa fell this week.) So after he got the water changed, we went down to feed the lame cow. He's been wanting to try and get her up for a while but it was going to be quite a project. After his mom saw the cow though, they kind of changed plans, vetoed the hike (the falls weren't going anywhere) and they were pretty much on a mission. So after a ton of work in the heat they finally got her lifted up but it was sad, disgusting, and obvious that instead of up, she needed to be put down. I got out of there in a fat hurry, I'm way too weak for that stuff, and my in-laws got out of town (a little later than expected) and Isaac had a long rest of the day.

Cann Man and Grandma ready for the hike that was for not. It was so fun to have them come. I love his little hat (even better when it matches what he's wearing but Isaac thought he looked pretty silly.)
And when we forgot his hat we protected his little head with dad's :)
I documented more of the cow project but as it turned out...I just deleted most of the pics, too sad. Isaac's mom was all about jumping in and helping him with the project, I think he occasionally is disappointed with my lack of such ambition...oh well.
As promised...the after picture of the trailers...
Too bad I didn't have a camera for Isaac letting Cannon play in the sprinklers for the first time.
And we finally bought Isaac his fathers day tree this week, that was fun. I'll have to take pictures when we plant it :)
Isaac told me this week "things are going [my] way" TRUE! We live in St. George and he has a normal job, and I am VERY THANKFUL!

Never a dull moment around here! Its the family journal so I have to elaborate-it might get kind of long~ If I start out writing about the truck quitting us you might think-duh Lyndi, last week you wrote that-that's what I was thinking when we were stuck on the side of the road too. But really Isaac fixed the shifter Monday morning, and it was good to go. But we blew a tire, Cann Man slept right through it, he's the best! But I guess the truck sensed that we'd got in a wreck because of the jerk the truck made when it happened so the gas automatically shuts off (really Isaac explained it to me, something about a ball bearing...whatever I don't know) But so then we were tire-less (oh and no spare) and the truck wouldn't start, it would start on natural gas but we were all but out of natural gas and it wouldn't start on regular gas. Anyway, he and his dad figured it out the fuel reset button, they're smart at car stuff, and we limped into Vegas. We were SO lucky that we just lost the tread and could limp. It's probably for the best that I don't know some things (like No spare) ahead of time. I need to start thinking precautions on my own! Little guy was such a sport he just smiled and cooed at me, so cute, having him to worry about definitely kept me from getting wound up. And we had Ginger & Britt ready to rescue us if we didn't make it, that was definitely comforting!
So lets start over...the week...
Sunday night we went over and said Hi to Burke and Emily and got to meet little Dafney. (spelling?) She's a cutie. Then Monday came, Isaac has been wanting to get some of those trailers that mix small amounts of concrete, so he found some in Bakersfield CA for a pretty good price (well and they need a little work-Isaac's kind of project) Cannon and I rode as far are Primm with him where we stayed the night! We stayed at Primm on the way back from our honeymoon. If you know me at all I'm a cheapskate, if you know Isaac...he's worse than me! So even as honeymooners when we got a room for $15 bucks we were both pretty pumped, just cuz we love a good deal. So we headed back to Primm, it did cost us $20 bucks this time but easily a $5 upgrade so game on! Isaac got up WAY early and headed the rest of the way for his trailers, then picked us up on his way back.
Here we go, hitting the road! I love it when this little toad holds my hand! (to bad the "advertencia" is in the background)They didn't have a none smoking king, so we got 2 queens and Cannon had his own bed, I'm glad he doesn't roll yet but the pillows were just in case, then we tried to take a picture of ourselves hang'n out at the hotel.

When I was checking the picture I found pics from our honeymoon on that camera that I hadn't seen since. It was a fun trip down memory lane, its the only camera we took. The view is out of our hotel room door. Too bad I didn't take pics of process to get there (3rd world!) The pic of us eating was at the Bufadora-a big blow hole- but really it was the best quesadilla I've ever had in my life:)

u

Back to the week though, it took longer than he thought but he got back to Primm and we took off-we really couldn't have been more than 3 miles out of town when we blew the tire (ok just flipped the tread-but all the same). I resisted the urge to take pictures of us stuck on the side of I-15 (and maybe I was scared to death that I was going to end up a horrible memory instead of just a memory...), how bout Cannon's face~What is going on? He really was an angel though! The delay just made me a nervous wreck cuz we ended up driving in the dark part of the way and I knew we didn't have trailer lights.
Nervous wreck? How bout when we stopped to change Cannon and I saw the hitchhiker crawling in the back of our truck. There are definitely times when I think I could start a new blog titled "I could've killed him..." but that sounds a little harsh so maybe "I wanted to ring his neck" same result... maybe I could start it up, I pretty sure all women could contribute too.
The hitchhiker...my smile is at the thought of being able to document it-that's all though!
If we're going to pick one up -that's exactly where I want him to ride but I would just rather not pick them up at all! Isaac's mentality is he (hitchhiker) is a child of God too and we are helping him out. He missed his son's 8th birthday and he's trying to get to see him (in New York) cuz they chatted. My mentality is its not safe, and when was the last time he showered and why is he hitchhiking in the first place and on and on. I've given people rides before too, but I found them on the BYU "ride board" its a little different! Isaac gave him a job though of watching the tie downs on the trailer and making sure everything was a-ok. Classic Isaac. When Isaac got back in I said "Really? A hitchhiker when your wife breastfeeds?" I was really REALLY REALLY thankful I had one of those formula already mixed up things for Cann! I am rambling and this is getting long but seriously I have to document this stuff, or who would believe it? (ok anyone that knows Isaac would.) Cannon ate the formula just fine and everything worked out. I missed the rodeo of unloading the trailers. Isaac's just worked on those trailers the whole rest of the week-so focused-and I'm so much better with this focus than the goats!
I need to take an "after" picture they really do look so much better now, he's done a good job! Friday evening I helped him paint a tiny bit. But he's trying to get them going before he starts his new job, oh dangit in all the story telling I forgot the best news. Things are good to go with the new job, should start this next week. That's pretty much the best phone call a wife can get!
The rest of the week Cannon and I pretty much had a thumb war! He loves to suck his thumb and I make him stop. The binky's just not adequate in his mind, I am glad he's strong willed, I think that's a positive. I've been working on my application for the online school, I don't know what all it entails but if I had the exact same student load I'm make less than 1/2, so its a bit of a rip off but maybe its 1/2 as much work? Who knows I still plan on applying. In Isaac's mind he's think'n make the application perfect, make sure I put the best references and so on, I say "No, I'm done, they get what they get" and I'm just arrogant enough to think they'd be lucky to have me. I guess that's pretty arrogant-oh well.
Believe it or not I'm finally done rambling-that's all I can think of for now.

This little guy can find his thumb unbelievably quick these days, I only have one pair of jama's this size that I can take his hands away from him. I went to change him (hence the unbuttoned look) and looked down and saw that the "take his hands away" jama's are totally ineffective. But I tried, I tried socks on his hands one night too. The kid is persistent! The whole fist thing wouldn't even bother me...if it didn't sneak into just his thumb so quickly.
We didn't come home from Huntington until Tuesday-by the time Wednesday was over I was happy I was only dealing with half a week. Wednesday morning little guy had to get shots :( plus at that "well child" check up we found out he had an ear infection. Bummer. It explained a some of the uncharacteristic fussiness. He really is such a good baby, when he cries its cuz something's wrong, the kicker is just me figuring it out. I hoping the increased thumb sucking is somehow related to that ear infection and will slow down again soon. At noon that day Isaac left for a river trip with the scouts, I know I've mentioned it before but I hate being a single parent!
I left the house in little green...then finally turned around because something just wasn't right and I didn't want to get any further from home. About 1/2 way back the car felt normal, I thought I'd over reacted but when I got out it totally stunk so I was glad. The culprit? The emergency break was stuck (not pulled I swear...just stuck) I was just so happy it was no big deal. Leary none the less I drove the truck Thurs. (plus I like it cuz you don't have to put little guy in the back seat) Filled it up with natural gas-then listened (and smiled and waved at all the cars trying to get my attention) as every last drop of it leaked out. I just switched it over to regular gas and went on my merry way. When Isaac got home he said "You should have called my dad." I didn't even think of it, maybe next time. Little guy and I went down to clean out my classroom, when I decided he'd had enough we went to leave but the truck wouldn't start. Good thing Chip works close, and good thing I pack lunch with me. We went back inside and waited for grampa to get off work. The truck disaster aside, we were riding home with him talking about my teaching career and he said "You and Bubba are starting a new career." it was just a really cute thing for my dad to say. Friday we went to Sister Birks funeral, it was a really nice service and I feel fortunate to have gotten to know her the last year of her life. I also got to try Kelly's legendary Stir Fry-"The BEST batch ever" they tell me.
Chip and Klem (Kelly Graff) stir fry'n it up! It was delicious!
I missed Isaac a lot, I'm glad he's back! Saturday night we went down to get the truck, it shifted (it wouldn't do that for me or Chip) then started right up! (Thankfully) but something with the shifter is messed up.
Life's an adventure!

4th of July

Our little guy finally got to meet Aunt Laur! That was fun and we spent as much time as we could with her. It was great having a tender while I went to the dentist and basketball and whatever else, plus...being a little bit spoiled by Aunt Laur is good for kids (in my opinion) and I LOVE this picture of him and Shad. Its special to be because I can remember standing in their living room, holding Shad for the first time and knowing I wanted to have kids of my own someday. Shad and I have always been pretty close, in makes sense since his mom and I are close too.
I had to take a pic of Cann Man in his "Little Guy" Jama's before he grows out of them. Then he and Isaac are out chopping weeds. He was on the blanket, then the next thing I knew the swing was outside. The pic is bad because I was being sneaky so its through window and screen :)

With the cousins on the Frei side. Then stingy Isaac wouldn't share his pizza with Chip's dogs. Can you believe that?
Saturday morning we headed to Panguitch, Cannon's first trip! Luckily I got a few pics before the camera just quit working! We were going to stay Saturday night but opted to just head to Huntington instead. We drove a mustang that Isaac bought for Jesse at the auction, a little cramped for a family trip but fun all the same. Not too much excitement it was mostly keep him out of the sun, keep him out of the wind, next year he'll have more fun at Panguitch. I loved his expression in the center pic. That's about what I thought of the back seat when I crawled back there to sit by him too.
Huntington was a blast! That little town does 4th of July right, we had a good time and Aaron fixed my camera Sunday night so we even have a little evidence :) not near enough though-I didn't take the camera out for the "show" the nieces put on. The kids are just fun, if they want an adult to do something with them they just start with their best option and then keep on asking. I was the one to play in the rain with them. It was a blast, but instead of bringing more rain with a rain dance we scared it off...bummer.Some memories worth documenting...
We went to church Sunday, I'm enjoying getting to know Isaac's home ward, I love it when I recognize people or ask him about different Old Timers. But the memory... we let Paula (Isaac's good friend Nick's mom) hold him again...Pooped ALL over AGAIN, got on her skirt, clear up to his shoulders-the kids got range! She's a sport about it, and we didn't give up though, I cleaned that disaster up and gave him back to her. Finally! My little snuggle bug just chilled with Paula during church like normal.
And I loved it when at the Parade Nathan (who is serving as bishop) yelled at the Maverick truck "Throw another shirt!" and they did-pretty much right to him. It was a bud light shirt-we laughed pretty hard.
When we were just about to leave we noticed little guy and Jacob's Camo bear had twin outfits on...so we had to take a quick phone pic.

The next update...

Oh its Monday instead of Sunday and I have so much to post-and fun pictures too- but one thing at a time and time will tell how much gets documented. So we'll start with the update.
Last Monday I posted about quitting my job, that was my leap of faith. I'm hoping that Tuesday was the parting of my Red Sea. I walked into the District office to turn in my I.D. badge and I was showing Cannon off a little bit when this lady in a red shirt, I don't even know her name but she had a red shirt and a smile that was straight from heaven I'm sure! Anyway she asked if I taught at Desert Hills (cuz I had a DH bball shirt on) and I explained that I had taught math but had decided to stay home, then she said "Keep your eye on the website." I started to re-explain, but she kind of stopped me in a "I get it" kind of way and explained to me that the online high school will be hiring soon, they are just starting up this year!! Nothing's worked out yet but I will apply and I just think something will, it was more than coincidence, even if that's not the thing that works out...something will work out, and it helped me recognize that even if I can't see how-things can work out-I'm not in charge.
