Whew! We made it to Friday blog day here in Ison adventure land.
Saturday the boys played and played with Aliyah
While Shawn and Lauren worked and worked on cleaning out Grandpa Ison’s shop. Isaac helped too but I’m telling you Shawn and Lauren are the work horses! Oh and Isaacs cousin came over with his backhoe and the worked on stuff and they put up stairs out and stuff.
Just all kinds of projects.
Sunday Grandma headed for Wyoming and Monday we hung out with Lauren and Shawn, until they headed home. Then we started in on our own little adventures.
Lots of them!
But Great news-Colt has overcome his deep seeded hate of the motorcycle. And we have 2 new riders!!! (Cost me a couple of light sabers but whatever!)
Colt is Super cautious—Tanner...oh boy it would be great if he had just a smidge of fear! He goes like a bat out of you know where until he wrecks. Really he’s got a lot better as the weeks gone on-they both have but yikes that kid!
Let’s see I better go back and see what the pictures remind me of-heaven knows I took a million of them!
Monday we met up with Steven and Allison’s family out at the sewer ponds to ride.
To say Tan was excited might be an understatement.

Colt however-no interest! But the Daley’s have training wheels on their little 50 that their Cannon rides. I thought it would help colt gain some confidence with throttle control knowing he wouldn’t tip over-so I bribed him with a slushy. Reluctantly he tried it...

And managed to run over his foot! I swear! We were working in the wrong direction! But I still owed him a slushy. When I said something about paying up he said he didn’t really want a slushy he wanted a light saber-I said fine but not for just getting on the training wheel one he had to actually ride our 50! Tanner wanted in on the deal too so we had two Highly motivated novice motorcycle riders. Cautious Colt with impeccable balance-I didn’t know you could go that slow! But seriously 100 percent my preference cuz on the other hand you have full throttle 4 year old. Hope nuthin is in his way. The first time he took off crazy Isaacs lost his shoe and his hat running him down but miraculously Tann turned just right and he was able to catch him. The 2nd time...not so much. Oh wait I WAS videoing that one. Ok I’ll have to put that link in but here’s the pic.

Not going to lie it was pretty awful to helplessly watch. Finding the pic did show me those were two incidents were actually a couple days apart-it been good to be here where they can do it every day sometimes twice a day and just get better and better. Here’s the video:
I felt like had to make sure he was by me so he wouldn't hurt Seth too then I set Seth down and ran after him but I couldn’t catch him...
Anyway getting he gets back on that’s the important part.
Anyway after all that fun Monday we took hot dogs and headed up Huntington Canyon for a cookout and exploring.
Seth pooped everywhere on the way up so he got a butt dip in the cold mountain run off-poor sucker! But that and muddy feet were the only two really messes, that’s a win for us!
I insisted that we stopped by Grandpas grave on the way home-it was Memorial Day after all. The picture was lacking, but we were there.

Tuesday we took the Side by side up on Gentry (a mountain) There was still snow it was Freezing!!!🥶
It might have been fun if we weren’t all in shorts and t-shirts. We even had jackets—at the car. Whoops.
This first picture though-it’s the epitome of Isaac. So much work for so little pay off. We didn’t even unload them until we were basically back to the van!
Colt and Tanner switched off and actually wore a helmet. No helmets at the farmhouse I’m fine with. On the pavement I was having a slight heart attack.
There are a lot of weird little quirks here. Like the water heater going off is normal-Grandma told us where the tablet was to reset it. If you use the oven you have to turn it off at the breaker. Shawn crawled up on the roof while he was here to get the AC turned on for his mom. None of these are a big deal, and none of them are news to me but it was like while here in the project capitol of the Ison world my life came crashing down. I have long thought we live the most Ison like of all his siblings-ug I just had that “Comparison is the theif of Joy” quote from Sis Joy D Jones pop into my head. Whoops. But anyway I’ve never really communicated to Isaac what I’m not ok with and what I want to be different at our house (because don’t kid yourself it’s not like it would go smoothly) i.e. we did hire the loggers to do our roof but Isaac really wanted to do it himself... anyway it was like this is my life in 30 years if things don’t change now! So whatever, like I said I survived the whole thing, that’s the good news, and the other good news is I started making a list on my phone of things to change-things to throw away!!! Things that I really can do myself...and so on. Oh and I’m old and I’m all kinds of out of shape but I also went jogging a couple times and I just love how that makes me feel in control! It was good for my soul! (And really for the boys too cuz when the stress piles on it’s not like I’m nice or kind or patient) anyway enough of that. -but I don’t have my journal here and I thought it was worth documenting- but back to the fun and adventures.
After the bike ride it was more motorcycle riding.

And fishing at Jesses pond!
Me’n Seth watching.

Tann loop success
Colt loop success
https://youtu.be/1HpuNtZ8Pj4Colt braving a hill—and Cann always wants me to get a picture of him jumping but it’s kinda hard to catch the split second his tires are off the ground.

Yesterday we finally smartened up and had Tan play follow the leader when he wanted to go around more than the loop. He went up a hill a little too fast and wrecked once today but for the most part it’s been a good thing. (He saved one wreck today too that was pretty dang impressive) we’ve also learned it best if Isaac has his bike there! Cannon does a great job on “rescue missions” but I’m partial to having an adult. Call me crazy.

Sethy likes getting to ride with dad!
*** hopefully I’ll finish this soon
We’re headed camping ...
