Well…he bought those two horses last Saturday…
I told him IF we’re lucky we might sit on them a bit and get some enjoyment out of them…so why haven’t I bought couches we would sit on EVERY SINGLE DAY!???… I dunno. I’ve  hounded Isaac enough about it he’s said I can do it but —it’s too much pressure I don’t want to pick out couches the kids will just destroy and we’re never going to get rid ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
But I think the highlight or rather lowlight of the week was the family skunk hunt…
Oh boy!
But how Can I start there when the boys got to hear from an apostle last week!
I better just go with picture order…
A little concrete work before they went back to check on the new horses.
But they felt good about them so Cann Colt and Isaac took the guy the money on their way out of town. They were headed to StL to hear Elder Kearon speak at a youth devotional. It was a long way to go, but I’m so glad they went! They went a little early so they could do something fun beforehand… I think the plan was laser tag, but they ended up just playing at an arcade or something And they didn’t go out to eat till afterwards! I would’ve been starving!
Colton didn’t say much about it, but Cannon told me that Elder Kearon straightened his suit for him when he went up to shake his hand (Which is the perfect interaction for Cannon to have with an apostle right?  because he cares so much about how he looks๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) And he also said that elder Bangetar, kind of put his hand on his shoulder and gave it a little shake and said “You’re too kind” When Cann told him that he enjoyed the story he told about President Nelson.

When I found out it was on Zoom (which is how I watched) I was ok when them just watching but Isaac was adamant they go (and I was fine with that too—I even would have taken them if he wanted) but, I’m glad he felt strongly about it. I’m glad they went!
And I was pumped BYU hung on and beat Wisconsin to advance to the sweet sixteen (even though they got torched last night so that fun is over ๐Ÿ˜) but I think they got back around 1:30–not sure because I was definitely asleep- but Sunday came quick!
No pics to report on though so on to Monday and the Skunk hunt…

Trying to scare it out with firecrackers๐Ÿ˜ณ
It wouldn’t come out so they decided to shoot it under the porch.
Regret! Oh the regret! That night Isaac crawled into bed and said “I think we should have left it alone” yeah no kidding! I woke up several times that night just gagging my eyes watering. It stunk so bad in here. It wasn’t just the smell. It’s like you could taste it.๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ

Video here:

Addi can open the door herself these days (which is nice sometimes and sometimes it’s not!) but she’ll just head out and go over and comb Enzo a little. I think he likes her too ๐Ÿ˜‰

This next picture.
I was a little embarrassed when Seth was telling me about digging the cupcake toppers from Ms Bevel’s (the classroom teacher next to his class) out of the garbage—licking the frosting off ๐Ÿ˜ฉ—and then bringing them home as treasures. I mean I know we collect junk but….Have mercy!

We used the mini to help us pant a couple new apple trees. 4 years in we should be getting apples but instead we were down to one tree…so hopefully we’re back on track. Colt wants to plant a pear tree…
Maybe.

I wanted more tulips and so far it’s looking like I’m going to get them! Seth wanted some yellow flowers so that’s the daffodils mixed in (I think the cats might play with and ruin them)

The weren’t planning on getting the horses tonight—just going to ride them.
But instead they brought them home (and didn’t ride them) I didn’t really get in on the circus but there was kind of one. I think that trailer Isaac bought it too small!

Anyway
I think that’s about it.

Wrapping up spring break

By not really blogging last week I missed out on some pretty good stories to tell. My parents flew in the KC on Thursday and we met them there. We really had a great spring break. But no stories is just the breaks I guess. Part of the disaster.
One story worth backtracking for was when Isaac and I went to the Kansas City Temple. We had never been there. We tried one time, back before you had to make appointments  but they were done for the day. But this time we walked in and went to have them print us out family names, where we ran into a grandpa we know, his family live in our ward. We recognized him from being up here, so that was kind of fun then we got to the chapel and sat down and  couple sat behind us that had been in our ward here in Kirksville. And then the coolest part was when we stood up to leave the chapel and head on up to the endowment room. There was a couple from my hometown —Sheldon and Carma Wittwer were there-he was in the bishopric when Isaac and I were in the singles ward, so it was just cool. I love it when you see people you know in the temple! And especially people from far away!  Maybe it’s just a little reminder that God knows all of us. We’re not far away from Him.
Anyway, so as for this week, Saturday morning, we got up and had breakfast then the younger kids wanted to have one last swim in the pool. So we did that,  then we got checked out and headed to the church sites in Independence… Well, really we just went to the visitor center, where we got a little tour from a less than dynamic missionary…(And realized how spoiled we are in Nauvoo ๐Ÿ˜‰)
Tan got a kick out of reading the title of the Book of Mormon in different languages and Cann found one in Guarani (a language his cousin Jacob is using in Paraguay)
The kids liked playing in the interactive area…

We’ve lived here for almost 10 years and never been to those sites but… Now we’ve been… I’m good!
Then despite plans for a Costco trip and Krispy Kreme’s we just came home. And by time we got here Grampa was basically crippled so he didn’t even get to check out Isaac’s building project or any of that fun.
We went to church Sunday morning and left him in bed.
Tanner and Isaac spoke in Moberly.
I went to the Relief Society broadcast that night.
Grampa went up to a friend in our ward (Oh actually, the same family that we saw the grandpa in the temple) and she did some OMM work on him so they were actually able to drive to KC Monday morning. And fly out (delayed ๐Ÿ˜ฉ) that afternoon. It was a fast trip, it felt fast, but it was good to see them.

Oh and Grampa was able to give a few birthday spank’ns

Seth told me they’re the best because Grampa’s “hardest Doesn’t Even hurt! AND you get money” ๐Ÿ˜‚

Monday, Isaac had to work but the kids still weren’t  back to school —unfortunately for them I’d schedule dentist appointment six months ago so not only did we have to say goodbye to grandma and grandpa. We couldn’t do anything fun cause we had to go to the dentist. Bummer.  The younger kids and I did slip over to one of our primary friends birthday party afterward.

Tuesday it was back to school and the weather was beautiful so Addi and I helped Isaac with his concrete.

Looking over my shoulder while I was typing this up, she asked where I was and I said I was the one taking the picture and she said “you shouldn’t take pictures because then you’re not working.” Crack’n the whip!
The spring soccer also got started Tuesday so we’re back at that.
Wednesday we went up to Cantril to our favorite Mennonite store. A bit of a drive but I love shopping there and that there’s not tax on food in Iowa. I didn’t look at the weather though and we got caught in a bit of torrential downpour when we were going to leave. So I had her use a makeshift umbrella. ๐Ÿ˜Š she was still mad the whole way home that her back was wet! Oh well.

No pics of my phone from yesterday, but March madness has begun so we watched a little basketball and I enjoyed it!

Finally I got a movie made this week ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Oh and a few pics from Isaac’s phone:

Yeah…they’re still looking at more horses…sigh…
