Seth’s first Utah trip

Oh the drive across was the worst ever-do I say that every time? Ug!!! But I guess I better go back to Saturday first Isaac was gone with Scouts and these boys went outside barefooted and came back in covered in mud. I was so frustrated with the mess and extra work I finally decided bologna! They are going to help around here! And it was awesome!!!

This next picture just really sums up life at our house-Cannon (sneaky) trying to get Colton (world is black and white -actually things that are truly grey throw him for a loop) anyway he’s trying to get Colt not to tell.

We also got a little baseball in and had the bakers over that night.

And then it was Sunday—which started with the boys getting Seth some good reading material 😊

Then we had to swing by the Lingwall’s quick and the Bakers actually fed us lunch. Crazy-so nice!! We are sad to see the Lingwall’s go. So sad. They have been great friends for us but we are super happy for them to get to move west! (Boise) But I had to laugh at Trevor giving Isaac one last hug. Mr Affectionate couldn’t even fake it, hands straight down to his size then trying to peel them away. Sorry Trevor he does hug-but ONLY me 😊

While the plan was to leave anytime before 5 (Really even 6 we could’ve made it) and go to liberty jail...Isaac got busy Bishoping it -more important- and we didn’t get out of there until 7. So we’ve lived in Missouri 4 years and STILL never been to liberty jail. Maybe next time.
It was awful! No wonder we dont usually travel on Sundays. A bridge was washed out so we had a detour but it wasn’t marked so we had a BIG LONG detour. We had trailer tire trouble and ended up in Liberty MO after all. At 11:30 at night, at Walmart buying trailer tires. I started driving at 12:30 and drive until 3:30 by 4:30 Isaac was ready for me to have another turn 😩that time I only lasted an hour. Once it got light again he drove most of it. I made him let me drive again when I saw his eyes looking Really heavy.  But we didn’t get to Huntington until 5 Monday -6 our time so it was a 23 hour trip. It was miserable. Seth puked twice. The lesson...go back to no Sundays? naps before we go? Especially if he had early mtgs. I dunno.
Getting into Huntington that late we didn’t go right to bed (probably should have) so by 9:30 or so when we did. Holy cow, it was long.
Playing with Grampa’s toys then Seth chill’n while Isaac works on that same engine for the ____th time. (It looks like he’s trying to torch his arm but it’s just a light)  he’s a million times more patient than me. We knew that.

Tuesday we headed South for SG. And I didn’t feel great but just got sicker and sicker. I know it’s just cuz I got run down. Tanner though-poor guy he’s been sick the WHOLE time...well I guess he fought through a little the first day but it’s been rough. When he’s older and looking at the blog he’ll appreciate that I left off details because it has not been pretty!!! Seth’s been a little under the weather too but the big boys have been loving life and cashing in on Grandparents Time and cousin time!!
As I looked through the pics I felt like oh good we have been able to have some fun even with sickies and Grama laid up (knees surgery)
So here’s the pics...
First stop leaving EC...of course... watusis???

Apparently they’ve had lots of rain in Kirksville our neighbor posted this

Of course these could all use better explainations and stories but I’ve gotta sleep when I can!
Oh but the weather here has been absolutely beautiful!!!

I don’t think Seth has quite got the I’m tired andvwant to go to bed memo...hmmm
Let’s see what have we been up to this week?
Last weekend Isaac had graduation I don’t know what the boys and I did—nothing exciting enough to take a picture of. I did ask Cannon to clean up by the back door, it was a deal where they all had to help with something and that was his thing. Which led him to his backpack and instead of cleaning I had more of a mess of things scattered all over. Great. I did take a picture...not the only mess picture I took this week but I think it’s best not to post them. Not really what I’m trying to remember by keeping this blog.
 πŸ˜‰
But how bout this proud big brother and not so sure little brother?

I don’t know what they were up to but I sure love them.
Sunday was Mother’s Day. We got both of our moms called so that’s a win. Isaac came home with a couple rose bushes and a flower to plant Saturday night...we still haven’t planted them. Hmm. Maybe tomorrow???
Monday night we had the Tilton’s over and grilled hamburgers. We’re going to head to Utah next week then when we come back they’ll be gone. ☹️😩😭 They have been such great friends the last 4 years. We knew this was coming but it still stinks! Luckily their town for residency is just off I70 in Kansas so we hope to cross paths as we’re driving through but it won’t be the same. I hope Cassie and I can stay in touch!!! Her friendship has been a huge blessing in my life! The world needs more Cassie’s!! We did dinner Monday and then I hoped we’d get to hang out again this week but it didn’t happen-that’s what makes me nervous about the future.
Anyway. Monday night I was also inducted into the SCHS hall of fame. What is that you might ask? Answer—I don’t know! They told me about it, and asked if I would be able to make the awards banquet or whatever it was. I took an honest look at it and contimplated different options but in the end it just really wasn’t possible. We could have made it by Tuesday but not Monday. I said thanked them for the honor and sent my parents in my stead. My mom said it was really nice. Thinking about HS definitely brought back some fun memories.

Tuesday I had thought we would do Cannons little play date birthday party but most of his friends had football camp. So we ended up just having Cohen and Isaac over, they had a good time. On they drive home from school today Cannon asked “mom when are we going to do my birthday party!”  Uhhh I thought that was it.
Here’s a funny picture from my phone this week, dad trying to help these two work it out...well we all know he’s an optimist.

Yikes
This week we also got the ground ready and started to plant the ward garden. The YM/YW came over Wednesday and RS was here Thursday. Wednesday we spent pretty much the whole day trying to get the spot ready. Look who Isaac recruited to help.

Sethy’s first tractor ride!! Ok really he just sat there while Isaac hooked up the tiller.
Wednesday was also pack meeting for cub scouts. We intended to divide and conquer but then they all wanted to stay there with me. Ug. Ok. Oh and while there I found out our good friends the Beals are moving...to St George!!!!! I’m super happy for them and happy we’ll get to see them but also sad for us and maybe just a liiiittle jealous. I mean I know I shouldn’t be I know the Lord is mindful of all of us!! But...if I’m being honest, just say’n!

Thursday was Colts last day of preschool!!! He wouldn’t go for the cap and gown but I got a smile so—good enough!
Today dad stayed home and tended (...and napped after cooking breakfast for the Seminary kids early this morning) while I took this little cutie with me to watch the 2nd grade track meet.

Poor Cann was zonked and feeling sick after school today. Maybe a mild case of heatstroke, it lasted all night, even after the 2hour nap. He made the finals in the 400 but regretted it. “Running” it the 2nd time kicked his tail. He was zapped! On the 50 yard dash they just ran it on the football field but if someone would come toward him into his would be lane he’d just let’m in and go behind. I congratulated him on being nice, and told him if they would’ve had lanes I thought he would have won...maybe 2nd at worst but with the route he took he was way back.

And last but not least-dad hanging out with his boys. Sleeping again 🀦🏼‍♂️and that same stink’n engine for the unrelenting time 🀦🏼‍♂️🀦🏼‍♂️🀦🏼‍♂️

That’s gotta be it, I’m super tired and Seth actually finally gave up! Good night!!

8 the Great! Cannons Baptism and Seth’s blessing

Birthday Fun... Cannon got up at 4:20! I had anticipated early-but not that early! I left a present that he could unwrap and then play with on the table. Legos-I thought it would keep him busy and quiet (As my brothers didn't get in until around 11:00 the night before.) But when he came in at 4:22 I told him he had to wait until at least 6:30. He does this thing where he's so super quiet but he gets right in my face and whispers "Mom" quietly until I wake up. UG it as if he thinks if he's super quiet about it it doesn't really count as him waking me up. But I'll give him a pass this time because it was his birthday. Well he came back, I don't know when, I'd gone back to sleep, could've been 30 seconds later, 5 minutes? 15 minutes? I don't know I didn't re-look at my watch or even open my eyes I just said "its on the table!" Well...it wasn't 6:30 because he, Colton, AND TANNER were all up by 5:30. Oh boy--it was going to be a day!

But we had a little birthday fun (not the cake yet, I'm not sure why I put that picture there) then headed for the baptism!

I love this picture of Cann and brother Chase. I told Isaac the worst part of it was his shoes, he said it would really be better if he wasn't in it at all but, its just still so sweet. Bro Chase is 87 and our ministering brother, I loved that I caught the handshake and Bro Chase's grin.
I thought we had a nice little baptismal service. Tons of support for the Cann Man. Mrs. Hardee came. Our friends the Jarvis'  came. Michael that Isaac works with (and always plays with the kids when we do accounting get together things) Tons of ward support (and the Jackson's from the other ward too) and technically we took these next two pictures the next day, but loads of family support! Here for Cannons big day! And I thought it was extra cool he got to be baptized on his 8th birthday!
We are so blessed!

After the baptism (luckily Tanner crashed--he slept for about 3 hours-he missed a ton of cousin fun but it really was to EVERYONE's benefit!) We invited everyone out to the farm house for sandwiches and cake-a few families came and it was fun, but the cousins played and played and played!!! Grandma Ison hooked them up with the fun massive new turtle for the swimming pool. They love it. (I was really glad the slip'n slide was tried with family before when had friends on it. Yikes.  (Not that I’m glad family got hurt!!) Elsie went down-got hurt. Colt went down-got hurt. Ann when down-got hurt. STOP GOING ON IT! Tree stumps must be cleared first!) Isaac however made it clear down. But even his chest got scraped up. Who knows??
He's a pretty fun guy though!!

He and Kami played and played with the kids. Good thing us Frei’s are at least smart enough to marry nice people. 😊
After Cannon's big day it was Seth Man's turn.

I of course had the brilliant idea to have family pictures. UG...but how could I not with those cute matching ties???

It was another neat thing to be in our home ward and have so much family support. It was awesome! Sunday was a little tough reining the kids in and sticking with more appropriate activities. They still played pretty hard, we ended up painting rocks...and painting nails, I don't know where the pics are, but we took tons.
Monday everyone but Grama Nette and Grampa Chip had to leave. Grandma and Grandpa Ison hit the road and drove west. Everyone else (well not me Isaac or Seth) headed east to Hannibal. The plan was a river boat tour and fun park before the boys finished out the drive to St. Louis and caught their flight. But there was major flooding and no boat. darn. We skipped school got a long car ride and lunch...and extra cousin time!!

Tuesday was a project day. Chip put a light in by the stairs for me, my mom kinda just did her thing where she makes things look nice and finished. I’m grateful for all of their help. We found time to play too! And Isaac put us up a motion light because he had the other light that was always on disconnected. We even found a minute to head to the bowling alley. We had a good time!

Wednesday we had to take Grama and Grampa back to the airport ☹️ luckily it’s not as bad when we have a Utah trip in our sites!
These guys are goofs!

Cannon LOVED cub scouts Wednesday! And Colt made me this cute butterfly at school. I didn’t even get a picture taken before we spilled on it, but now I have one so basically it can go speedily to its final destination...as soon as I can sneak it there!

Today Cann had his 2nd grade field trip! Here he his with his best buddy Isaac, I was glad Isaacs mom went and sent some pics. Then that’s Blake in the middle on the next picture down.  They’re kindof the 3 amigos of Miss Ranchels class this year! I just think it’s funny their names are Blake and Isaac because of Isaacs (my Isaac)  best friend Blake...

A few more random pics I thought I would sort out better when I threw them in but...it’s late and this is long and it’s not happening
The lastest little Mr King of our bed.

Some poppa time!

My date tonight cuz the rest of them are at fathers and sons 😊 not sleeping over though cuz Isaac has graduation stuff tomorrow.

And last but not least just sitting around doing come follow me. Grandma Ison took the picture and I figured it was blog worthy because it’s just what we do!
Until next week!
Oh and one of my favorite pics from our little photo shoot
