Colt is 6

Let’s see...what have we been up to??
Seth means business about this scooting around stuff.
A friend text this to Isaac this week so I fwded to myself. It was from girls camp. Of course he would never shy away from something like this...
Sunday we did a fun thing where we took some of my Grandmas old pictures that we picked up while we were in Utah and put them on family search, it was fun and a good activity that the boys can help with, well Cannon could.
Colts teacher is AWESOME especially about sending pics I love it!
This is Seth’s “Dad, did you think I was going to stay on that blanket?” Grin.
We suffered through hair cuts and since my boys get the home clipper special it’s a little rough when Cannon wants the style his friends have and then Colt wants his like Cannons. Ug! We tried though. Even Seth got in on it...and he was about as cooperative as the other 3. But we FINALLY got rid of that patch in back. Yay! Colt was the photographer.
Goats. 🙄. Isaac wants goats, again, still, whatever. He found someone to let him borrow some though. They’re hoping to get them tomorrow-whenever it happens I’m sure I’ll have lots of pics so only 1 collage today.
They were going to the African market to see if they can sell them goat meat (for if it works out and he gets a herd of goat...yada yada bla bla bla) Seth and I weren’t going to go but last second we jumped in on the family adventure. Well he was asleep so I stayed in the car (aw shucks) but then I heard him grunting. Totally filled his pants...I’d left without the diaper bag since we jumped in last minute. No diapers in the car but I did have wipes so I figured whatever I’ll clean him up we’ll go by diapers. Oh no diaper bag not wallet Isaac didn’t have his either but luckily I did have some cash in the car. So we buy diaper and we swing by Bro Chases house because the mail man brought us his Ensign (and ours) so I jump out to diaper the little man and find this: of course those pants are soaked! So we ditched them and did the best we could!

But if I’m being honest I didn’t care if we impressed the goat people or not.

Wednesday was Colts birthday (oh but I did let him get his camera present -that he knew about- Tuesday night, my kids always want an “x” present early sometimes I give in sometimes I don’t)

The truth is it was a tough day.  (Well And after a long day of kindergarten that’s still pretty new I think he was just spent emotionally)
His Jersey didn’t fit, his robot wasn’t the right thing anyway and got broke in the first 5 minutes -it was innocent but Cann was having a dance off with it- I didn’t get him a mighty Rocky and I didn’t invite his friend Graham over and we “always” invite Cannons friends and...there were 3 or 4 more things on his rant.
Poor guy I did feel bad for him. I tried to do things he likes. We made shirts for his class, cinnamon rolls for breakfast, French toast for dinner...but just the one most anticipated day...wasn’t very fun. Darnit
And we did make a cake but Isaac and Cannon we’re gone to scouts and didn’t eat it with us. And he loves green but apparently only red Swedish fish. I’m telling you it was a big day of fails!

Mixed in with few cute smiles 😉

Thursday Michaila invited us over after school. It was really fun but when we got in the car it was fights galore! I was trying to keep my cool and not contribute to the fights when I said "Guys what if Jesus was in the car right now, would you want to be fighting over something dumb like that?" And Cannon answered "If Jesus was sitting right there we should've cleaned the car!" Then Colt added "He'd say 'Thou shall cleanth Thy car!" It was hilarious and we got a good laugh--and I was super thankful it changed the mood in the car too.
Poor Tanner avoided shots at his 3 year check up but...that was a mix up and for preschool he was missing one he should have had at 6 months. Oh what a circus chasing that around, honestly I bet he got it but it didn't get recorded but I called they said "Ya we give that one at 6 mo, then I said OK if he got every other one you give at 6 months why didn't he get that." They were like oh that's between you and the Dr. ... NO its not... Oh well you have to talk to a nurse...oh we give it at 15 months instead (then tell the people who answer the phone)
In the end...after a lot of the run around-Tanner had shots today. He's a little overly dramatic sometimes. YIKES.
But we were waiting in the Dr. office and he kept taking Seth's socks off, he said it was because he needed shoes. I said "Seth doesn't have shoes, should we find him some?" (I meant lets go shopping...of course) And he just looked at me like I was stupid (Tanner has that look DOWN just FYI) and said "There's no shoes here, there's just a bunch of random guys who is sick here." It was so funny.
Sometimes days are long but I'm happy these boys keep me laughing.
Today the neighbor kids stopped by and we were headed out to Hurdland but by time we got ready to leave it was going to be a go-turn around and come back for me so I just didn't go...not going to lie, its kinda nice quiet and peaceful right now :)
A few finally pics to wrap it up.
This one...doesn't require and explanation just makes me want to say "sorry Seth"

Summer must have made me dumb enough to think it was fine to take 4 kids to the store, when Tanner gave him a kiss I thought it was cute and told him to do it again and took the picture.

I do love the little bit of one on one time I get with this little cutie when all the other boys are at school.

And the mornings with this big bruv are pretty good too
(Cannon likes tall socks--so Tanner likes tall socks, often times I think Cannon has much more influence than I do...)

until next week...

School Started

Fridays come so fast! Here we are again!
Living the good life ... brother fun!

I love to watch Colt concentrate—shoot I’d even suffer through watching soccer if he wanted to sign up for it. (And really I got to where I could handle watching Soccer back when I was the announcer...ha-that was a funny memory.)
These little Monkeys! And about that Sethy scooching wherever he wants, as the weeks gone on he’s figured out this arms more and more but still not enough to keep his head from dragging.

How bout this fun sign?! They put them in the yards of ALL the new kindergarten students, I was pretty impressed. It was really fun!!

Oh better throw this one in there—a little bike ride Seth’s not so sure Tanners doing his best to convince him. Next weekend is a combined ward activity that’s a super mini triathlon...Isaac thought dusting off the bike would be a good idea, it was but the trailer tire popped before we even got 1/2 mile.

We got to meet all the teachers, Cann and Tanner Tuesday Colt Wednesday.

Oh Tuesday night ward bowling activity—we’re going to have to make a habit of this when it gets cold!

Oh we got our family pics back. Ug everyone was super happy with them...but I don’t love them. I hate what I wore I wish I would have curled my hair, there was one where the wind blew my hair so it didn’t look so slicked down and hippy-ish but Isaac isn’t smiling in it. Ug. He’s awesome at smiling for pics so no way would I settle for one where he’s not.
I liked this one ok-Seth’s pulling Cannons hair, Tanner is so unimpressed. But I thought Isaac and I had genuine smiles...

I like this one SOOO much better Seth’s in front of my ugly ratty white shirt, boys have smiles...and Isaacs heads cut off. Ug!

But look at these cute boys. I mostly just love the people in our family pics!

The boys have put in a lot of tree house time with Cohen this week!

Isaac started a caulking project. A project  (ahhh it really never ends and will probably never be done)

After I dropped Tann off at school Thurs Isaac and I got to go on a little lunch date!!!
That was awesome! Hopefully we can make a habit of it!
Here’s the first day pics: 3rd K and Pre-K

I got this from Colts teacher day one. We love her. She is Cannons kindergarten teachers sister and its perfect the brothers got sisters we are very happy!! He’s wearing the sharing hat in this pic

Tonight we had the Pettit’s and the Vorkink‘s over. It was super super fun, we have been wanting to have them over for a long time! Like since the Vorkink’s came and helped us paint! We bbq’d chicken and zip lined and slip’n slided and the boys “worked” in the tree house—it was a good time.
There is a ton more I could say. But it’s getting late! And I am tired!

Recovery week

The title of this post says it all.
Saturday we slept. I dunno what else. Isaac drove all But about 200 miles of the drive (and that really best because he doesn’t really like how I drive) but I’m telling you what-give that guy a book to listen to and you’re golden.
Oh and Sethy did awesome...until the last 3 hours he screamed his head off. He would occasionally wear himself out and sleep a little but only if he was holding my hand. It was rough-and kinda sweet too.

Sunday while I thought we were 15 minutes early for church we were in fact 45 minutes late!! What? True!! Neither my phone nor my watch-which syncs to my phone- switched from Utah time. Whoops! Good thing it was me and not Isaac!!!
Seth wasn’t real impressed with Isaacs popsicle. And sometimes he pillowfights with himself. Ha!

It was a week of a lot of friends. The Jacobs came, they invited us to the park but the boys begged to have them at park Ison. They had a blast with a dead raccoon...so gross! Jason no thanks on the older boy tricks—I’ve got it bad enough! I loved getting to chat with Sarah though, I’m so glad they moved back. Tuesday Dax came. Wednesday William, then Thursday all the Baker kids. Yeah recovery week has been pretty busy!
Wednesday Isaac threw together a beach night. So we had a late night. We had a swimming pool in the van when the water cooler he packed tipped. Whoops!

Thursday he threw together the ice cream social (ok this one was planned before but let’s be loosed on the word “planned” maybe scheduled would be better?) Started at 6:30, at 6:20 there was no Isaac no ice cream oh and nobody was supposed to be in the bldg because the carpets had been cleaned. I just started boss’s people around. I felt bad but...something needed to happen. I took my shoes off and went socken foot and had people shuttle chairs out to the grass and Isaac showed up at 6:24 (before leaving again to go pick people up) with ice cream. And all in all it was a success—go figure. My boys loved watching Jared make liquid nitrogen ice cream!!
And now it’s Friday! Sigh! Isaac worked on the door downstairs for me—that was awesome! I took Colt and we did some school shopping, we had fun. Tonight we played a little baseball, I was happy the younger boys wanted a turn. I guess that’s it.
Maybe a few more random pics..

And wait!!! That is not it... this little toad can MOVE!!!!
It’s not really scooting but it’s definitely not staying where you set him down either!!!

They grow too fast! That’s for sure!!
