After new couches this week’s pretty anticlimactic.

Addi: “Mom, why do your eyes have lines?”

Me: “Oh those are called wrinkles! You’ll never know me without them.” 🤣

Lets see! Why do I sign my kids up for soccer if I get so happy when it gets rained out??? 🤷🏻‍♀️ But…it’s like we get this bonus day back and we love it. Colt asked mid morning what was for breakfast, I said the best case scenario was going to be him using those FACS skills he’s been learning and making pancakes! He was totally game.

And we finally made our plant run. I’m not saying we do it every year but we definitely like to buy a few plants to plant either here or at the cemetery to remind us of Rizzy Roo.

Sunday we got out on a walk! And stopped by Rich’s to check on our horses.

And Seth’s a little too cute to be a grinch but somehow this seems close.
Monday it was Addi to the dentist. She was super tough.

Seth had a make up soccer game instead of practice. Cann had tennis but he didn’t actually get to play a match so we didn’t worry about going. Today he did have a match (but out of town) and when he called he told me he had 7 service aces! He sounded pumped so—great job bud!
Tuesday it was down to Columbia for Colts ortho appointment. Dang in the 10 months Cannon got them they’ve gone up $700. 🙄 annoying but oh well. Colt doesn’t actually want them at all but…I think he’ll thank me later. It was fun to just chit chat going down-he’s a great kid- but he read the whole way coming back and it was hard to stay awake! We had another make game that evening. Tanner this time. Hopefully Elise’s dad took awesome pics that I’ll get to post later. 🤞🏻
I can’t remember much about Wednesday but I have pics so we’ll see what they remind me of. I thought I finally got done with the YW shirts but…now one more wants one. So —almost!
Pics are all Addster
Oh yeah-don’t write on my walls. I know I have a similar pic of Cannon in Mississippi. At least here they’re our walls! That rental stuff was stressful!
Showing off our plants!
And this look was silly enough I took a picture of it at home but she shoved ALL of that stuff in her backpack plus her too small red/pink dress coat she self proclaimed turned into a work coat and went to school. Well she always likes here backpack as full as possible (coat lunchbox you name it) but one of the teachers told me she never gets into while she’s there so it’s not a big deal, I didn’t think anything off it…until the same teacher that told me that. Showed me a picture similar to this one (just missing the coat) that she put in before going out to the playground.
Oh brother!

Anyway yesterday I had Relief Society, today we fed the missionaries. Bout it! Oh that’s not true, I got chat with a friend about what I like about sending my kids to school. Seriously so good for my soul to get to chat with someone that is like minded! I need more of that! Oh and Isaac sent me this video where Elder Anderson’s son interview him. It was so good (but also so long and so many ads) but at one point they bring up that Elder Anderson’s grandson is a junior in high school at a public school in California-not at all the focus of the interview but I definitely noticed it—its the apostles grandkids…we should be ok too! A challenge for a person of faith? (I think he said something about that) Sure! But rise up and meet the challenge! That’s my vote. This is the world my kids are going to live in.

New Couches!!!!!!

After yesterday-definitely a best day- I’m so excited to blog! But we’ll get there-I always start with Saturday so I’d better start with Saturday.

We had some cold soccer games! We ended with a loss (my and Seth-a-roo’s team) a tie and a win. I didn’t get any pictures of Seth but I had Colt committed to come take some for me tomorrow—but it already got canceled…maybe the next week.

Saturday night we helped out with the youth missionary night down in Moberly. Basically, we were a family that had invited the missionaries over and they got to practice teaching a lesson…We could decorate our “house”  room however we wanted, So I just let the younger kids bring whatever they wanted and we took a mess —like our normal house.

Hopefully it was a good experience for the youth.  I got good reports on both Colton and Cannon (they didn’t come to us) that they did a good job but… What else are they gonna tell me?? 😉  I asked the Missionaries later what they felt like was the roughest part? And the sister said “the false doctrine” 🤣 Oh yeah, that’s gonna be a problem! But I was guessing the lack of social skills. It was a little rough with some of the groups. But they gotta learn sometime! Isaac would never say that…he’s just nicer than me-it’s not that it’s not true.

Addi had so much fun running around exploring that building and whatever else she’s asked several times to go back to Moberly.

Sunday Cannon went to State FBLA. Addi was so enamored by the idea that he had ridden somewhere on a bus-she wondered if it was a bus like we rode from the parking lot to the airport when we went to Puerto Rico?  I said “no it was like the school bus” She rode to the petting zoo with her class in, but anyways, I ended up taking a picture of him when he come back just to show the Addster.

It was so weird not having him around on a Sunday. I didn’t like it. It was five hours away. I think if it had been closer, maybe I would’ve just driven him down Monday morning….??? I dunno.

We had normal Sunday stuff, It was fast and testimony meeting there were tons of visitors, and somebody shared their testimony of polygamy. 🤦🏻‍♀️ It was so well intended she was just talking about the righteous leaders of the past who had grown up in polygamist homes. —I mean we’re studying the children of Israel right now in the Old Testament Israel definitely definitely grew up in a polygamist home.  But she was talking more modern prophets and I was cringing thinking of the  4 or 5 Truman students I’d just met. Oh well! … Pres Uchtdorf gave that talk recently where he cringed but his friend ended up loving it…🤞🏻we’ll hope for that!

After we had President Lewis and his wife from the mission presidency over for lunch. Isaac has meetings with him every month so he knew them. I just met them briefly Saturday Night at the thing in Moberly, but then they came up here to both Ward sacrament meetings. It’s just tough when you’re in Kirksville for church meetings and then you have to drive 2 or 3 hours, So we like to have them over when we can, -we did it with President Thomas when we were in the Nauvoo stake—but it was amazing,  so fun, just good good people we loved to visiting with them. I’d Recommend the experience to  anyone! They had a granddaughter with them whose dad had actually gone to medical school here but this little granddaughter I think she was 13, Addi and Seth  loved playing with her. They had a blast and wanted to know when she was coming back. It was so fun!

I guess we survived Monday although I have no picture evidence!

Tuesday this helper girl (Who decided she wanted to convert her church jacket to a work jacket)  and I went out to help her dad.

Hopefully we’re as much help as we think we are. 😉

And we got our Cann Man back! He got 9th place in Intro to Supply Chain Management.

Tuesday evening a boy that was in Colts class last year ran a stop sign  on his bike, got hit by car, and passed away, that was a really sad deal. The whole school was pretty shook up. 😔 I noticed Colt didn’t hardly touch his lunch the next day when everyone found out. 😔

Isaac’s been working on working on getting the boat ready to go!

But Thursday!!!! Let’s talk Thursday!!!

I don’t know what got in to Isaac but I hope it stays!!! Actually I don’t know this but I could 100% see him listening to a conference talk -or maybe BYU speecch something along those lines and  them saying something like “Brethren if there’s something you could do to make your wife happy-Do it!”  And then he just went for it! It was awesome! If it was a nudge-like that great! If it was on his own initiative even better! But let me tell you about it!

I didn’t jog that morning so Addi and I were going to ride to the cemetery. He came along, and therefore did the work of lugging the tag along bike! And he fixed the tires in Seth’s bike and he and Add have been working on riding it.

After we got home and cleaned up we headed for town and he registered the boat!!!!  Finally!!! I am so relieved! (I didn’t care when it was broken down but once he got it running…) He didn’t 100% for me. And I’m so glad—I finally feel like we’re legal -and honest! He definitely sees it differently and was willing to pay a fine if we got one considering it the “cost of compliance”  whatever. Too gray for me! I’m a black and white kind of gal!

After the licensing office we headed to the new furniture store in town. I wanted to go too but I was game to just look around but he went to buy! I’ve been nagging him about new couches for at least 2 years probably longer. He’s definitely given me the go ahead but I couldn’t do it. I didn’t know what I wanted I’m afraid there supposed to last FOREVER (cuz we’re us and we don’t get rid of anything)  it was too much pressure.

But we found some I kinda liked and then the salesmen were trying g to push us over the edge and they said they’d throw in a free rug (which I thought was 10x12 really close size wise to the one we had but it’s actually only 8x10-whoops-oh well good enough) but anyway we ended up taking a picture then coming home and having our lunch date salads and I took a picture of the living room and had AI put the new couches in it and I liked it… And then I had AI put the rug in with it and I really liked it and when…I went to pick up kids, Isaac went to the furniture store!

They charged a percentage of you used a card-no way-so I swung by with the checkbook and a load of kids. For $35 they would have delivered them and taken the old ones out too but (still us…no I would have paid it, still Isaac—no way)

The finished product..or project
We’re loving them!
Tan said after school today “I can’t believe we have new couches!” Me either buddy!

But we’re loving them.
I want to include the ChatGPT images
I love that we could do it, and I went for it, but I think it definitely made the couches look more gray than blue, which is probably why I went with the lighter rug! Time will tell if  I regret that, but you can see the darker blue one did not match very good in the ChatGPT image.
But the biggest thing is Isaac just did it for me and I love them!

This next picture is just me being  a little bit ornery because
Cannon hates it when I make t-shirts and swears he’ll never wear anything I make…but I made his whole team these tennis jersey shirts  (I bought them for $.49 so I made them for the whole team for less than I paid for his one normal jersey) But now they’re called their “ White jerseys” And he had to wear it. Ha! 🤣 That’s a win for mom! 😉

I really have been making a lot of YW Walk with Me t-shirts this week too.

The animals like the couches outside (Colt thought we were gonna move them upstairs but… They really belong in the burn pile… Along with the ones that are upstairs That never should’ve moved from Ivins! )

I think that’s about it-We had the missionaries over for dinner tonight and there was a big tornado watch-they even let the kids out of school an hour early, but we survived. 👍🏻

I’m sure we’ll hear eventually if any tornados really formed or touched down.

Until next time.

Conf Easter and Tanner’s 10! Plus Grama and Grampa time!!!

What a week, we’re currently in the middle of suffering through the let down but…we had a great time-I might as well get to the stories!

Saturday morning soccer got rained out and…I wasn’t sad about that. The Easter Bunny always comes on Saturday here so we had plenty going on.

Always so special to get to participate in a solemn assembly!

Isaac and my dad made a little Home Depot run but when they got back he -obviously had something to work on- but sat and watched conf with me!!!! This is a long awaited for milestone! I hope it becomes a thing!

The tickle mister was here!

And they got a lot done as far as wiring the building

Sunday Tanner turned 10!!!

(Just for the record that means we can get a new car anytime now… I wanted to van to us for 10 years✅) I think Tan had a fun day 🤞🏻 One of the days he prayed to be able to have fun when it wasn’t his birthday or Easter or or grama and Grampa  were here. Maybe that should be my prayer too.😉

We made our Easter visit to the cemetery before conference

Cann didn’t want to come so we didn’t force him, but I wish he had, oh well.
And my tulips here are pretty good too

And we finished up the day with chocolate pie and birthday spank’ns

Oh and snuggles and horse’n around

Monday Isaac and Grampa worked.
And we went to Cantril shop’n. They were more productive…but I was just glad Isaac spent more $$ than me. 🤣

We had all day we just had to be back in time for Cann to play tennis-he played a doubles match (he likes that) and they won!

I gave his team the shirts I had made-they loved them! They were so kind and appreciative, I like those kids, they played me right-I  totally wished I’d bought the orange ones too. I’ll hook them up again!

Seth and I headed from tennis to soccer practice.
Tuesday Grama was doing what Grama does-and  teaching  Addi  along the way. Hopefully it sticks because she definitely taught me to keep a cleaner house than I do… it’s just so futile, but I do love it when it’s clean.
I’ve been promising Colt a pear tree for probably 2-3 years, so we finally bought some up at Cantril and planted them Wednesday. (Hopefully they do better than the apple trees we planted 5 years ago and haven't got a single apple off of…😏

A few more snuggles!
And then it felt so fast but Grama and Grampa had to take off to get home in time for their friends sealing. We are SO THANKFUL they came! It was so fun to see them and we’re thankful for all their help too.
Thursday I came home from my eye exam and found Addi and Isaac trimming the oak tree…but they found a raccoon family! Yikes!

I don’t know what else…the day I took the brothers to the Orthodontist and Grama took Addi to school they didn’t get a slushy because it would just melt. So on account of that Add and I made it happen today on our one on one day (what we call Fridays.) . She’s obviously pretty happy about it.
We also got our conf train printed but not up yet -it needs to be more basketball proof than the last version with those flimsy clips! Because Tanner and Cannon play pretty rough in th.
We better call that good —if soccer doesn’t get rained out it could be a busy day for us tomorrow, but of course I’ll tell ya all about it next time! 👍🏻
