the best day?

Every day with Cannon is the best day! And I really don't want to miss a thing! So on that note today I signed my letter of resignation. I'm not going back to Desert Hills High School to teach math.
I'm excited~and scared~ there is a...was...a great deal of security and stability with my job and two big I's Income and Insurance. I need that, but not as much as Cannon needs me. I think it makes a big difference when mom's are at home with their kids, I just feel like its the right thing to do, so I did it. It shouldn't have been a hard decision-but it kind of was. Isaac wouldn't really help at all, he was dead set on me doing "whatever I wanted". I didn't (and really don't) understand why it couldn't be OUR decision, what WE thought was best, but he was adamant that it was me who had to decide. He of course left no questions as to where he stood -so I kind of do think it was OUR decision- last week when I told him I was scared to quit my job I was pretty much hoping for a hug, and an "it's okay" or "things will work out" something like that. Instead I got a very matter of fact "Satan's the one who doesn't want you to stay home with Cannon." Seriously! I wanted to pop him in the nose. But I should be grateful, I waited a long time for someone as good and solid in the gospel as Isaac. (He could work on being a little more sensitive though-good grief)
For months now every time I've taught Sunday School something's come up about faith and not knowing things but doing the right thing and trusting what we know is right even if it doesn't make sense or we can't see or understand how it could ever work out. EVERY stink'n week! It's been a knot in my stomach every time. Would I practice what I preach? And even at basketball last week I found myself stressing to my girls the importance of doing the right thing and not worrying about the rest (Cuz seriously, if you have any idea how those games are officiated~YIKES~) So here's my giant leap of faith...maybe it should have been a simple little thing but it feels GIANT to me.

(Oh and I am really excited too~it's what I've always wanted!)

and a side note:
Still planning on coaching basketball because I love it and want to, I'm just not sure how much or in what capacity I'll coach because Cannon pretty much trumps everything.

Cannon has been super smiley today-I LOVE IT!
And remember my friend came and took baby pics, here's the sneak peak of those I got this week. This week was a little bit crazy with a LOT of basketball, and really compared to other years I didn't do much. Thankfully lots of mom's tended for me, it was great. And the JV group (basically my kids from last season) won the little tournament-so that was fun.
Monday Cannon (and I) got to meet Aunt Loxi and Aunt Permela. We went out to eat but I ran off to coach basketball I was sad we didn't get a picture but then it worked out to get together again the next day so I made sure to document it:)
It was really fun to meet Isaac's aunts and we had a good time visiting!
This weekend Cannon also got to meet Aunt Ginger and Mark too (not technically related but, totally family, so "aunt" it is, the best family friends that all started with missionary work -Chip served with Ginger's brother- anyway she liked him a little bit :)
The rest of the week?... I think that's about it, my phone camera broke ~possibly from overuse in the last 2 months~ that was a bummer. But the week was mostly a lot of basketball and little guy and I both got a little run down. When I started whining about a sore throat Isaac told me it was what he had last week. I told him next time I didn't want him to say his throat hurt a little I wanted him to say "It's killing me, I'm so miserable and REALLY hope you don't get it!" that way I'd know what was coming. I hope babies don't get sore throats cuz it was awful but Cannon's little eyes just looked like he didn't feel good. He's been sleeping a ton and I'm glad because I don't know but I think that's the best thing for him. If all the fun smiles today are any indication, he seems to be doing better.
Oh yesterday we went to the movie 17 miracles, its the first time Isaac and I have gone to a movie together :) we're just not much of movie people but it was really good and Isaac is related to the guy it was about (Levi Savage) We liked it.
And...maybe one more thing- Isaac rescued this turtle from the middle of the road...I'm the one that made him take a picture so-on the blog it goes :)

Father's Day/Shawn's Mission Weekend

Cannon's tummy wasn't feeling so hot, so Isaac put him on the arm of the chair to apply some pressure. I thought it was silly and grabbed the camera. And in the background (along with the mess) you can see the "Nap Nanny" I borrowed from a friend in my ward. I had never heard of one but they're a pretty ingenious. I don't really dig the name though so we call it the "Captain's Chair" Cannon is the Captain around here so it fits. I will probably purchase one of these before we have another kid...but I'll go for a baseball or sporty print...go figure.
This is the contraption Isaac built 3 days out of surgery...take'n it easy...not lifting more than a gallon of milk...yeah right. Oh well. Sometimes I want to control him but...I can't.
Oh and I can't even remember what it was -which is probably a good thing since I agreed-but something this week he said "Can you please NOT blog that?" So maybe Isaac hates me tell'n the blogger world about all of his adventures. Sometimes it's necessary though-this is our family journal :)
Cannon and I did a little basketball camp this week. Cann was really set when Coach Turley's wife held him the whole time.
We took some fresh veggies from Chip's garden up to Isaac's mom and grama, after we picked them up Chip told us the carrots would keep better if we'd top them. So naturally the funnest dad ever decided we should let Cannon feed the horses the tops and we stopped by the feed yard. I just wished I'd had my better Camera. It was great.
Saturday we went to the Manti temple, it was AWESOME, I loved the live session and the cool pioneer heritage in that building. It was also REALLY REALLY neat to be in the Temple with ALL of Isaac's family. Shawn was taking out his own endowment but I think it was a pretty special thing for Ralph on Fathers day weekend too. My mom and Bri tended then stayed and went to the Mormon Miracle Pageant. They said it was pretty good too. After the temple we headed to Huntington!

So for our first overnight excursion...

Pooped on? Check, poor Paula, did you really want to hold him during Relief Society?
Peeed on? Double Check
Puked on? Double Check
For some reason I thought 2 Jama's and 3 outfits and 4 blankets would be enough...I mean really it was 1 night-I thought wrong. And next time I'll pack at least 2 jama's for me too! As it turned out we just ended up doing laundry up there, no big deal, but Oh my Heck I was at my wit's end when EVERYTHING had gotten one of the "P's"
BUT-All of my complaining aside (really everything was no big deal it was just an onslaught) but we really had a great time! It was a fun fun weekend. So I'll just throw in some of the pics...
All of the cousins love Uncle Shawn, no matter what he's doing they like to be in on it!
Look at these strong cousins...actually we tried to take a picture of Cannon's first battle wound when he got bonked in the head by these guys
Aunt Tarra and Cannon are good buds!
Cannon? Isaac? It's a picture of a picture so its not that great but we looked through the baby books and I'm pretty sure I have a clone!
Cannon finally got to meet Great Grandma and Grandpa Kenworthy, oh and he hung out with Great Grampa Frei a little this week too.
I spend way too much time blogging (oh well Cannon is napping my house is really the only thing I'm neglecting right now) but it's just good memories! So I think its time well spent.

WHAT A WEEK!
Sunday after the blessing Isaac, Shawn, and their mom, along with Melissa and Georgette headed out for Havasupai.
I think they had a good time. It was the last shin dig with Shawn before he goes on his mission. I'm glad Isaac got to go-and I was extra glad to have them come back, I hope nothing ever happens to him, I don't want anything to do with being a single parent :)

Here's Cannon rock'n his Nike gear that Coach Potter gave him

We went to open gym twice this week but I just mostly worry about Cann and not so much coaching-life changes when you have a kid:) FOR THE BETTER
Friday Isaac had his hernia fixed. It was SO MUCH WORSE this time. I don't know last time I was just the girl friend but I dropped him off, came back, checked on him no big deal...but he was in pretty rough shape this time. But he's doing better now :) Thank Goodness. I'm not much of a nurse.
Cannon now weighs over 12 lbs! We had to find out just how big he was when we were at Grama's work showing him off. AND He's starting to smile! Its SO FUN, I wanted to catch one on camera tonight but he was pretty grouchy so...I'm sure we'll get some smiling pictures sooner than later!

Blessing Day

June 5, 2011
I know you've already seen this pic but I'm hoping to get to change the blog header so here it is again.

It was such a special day! All of Isaac's bothers were there, my brothers, our parents, Uncle Coy and Melissa came. Uncle Jer and his family, Great Grama and Grampa Frei and Great Grama Cottam. And of course all of a ward family-we love them too.
A hug for Daddy to start the day-Cannon gives the best hugs.

It was like pulling teeth to get this pic (my mom got a little taste of Isaac ignores you when you bug him to do something he doesn't want to do) but it I LOVE IT! I'm so glad he gave in!

I really need to figure out how post bigger pictures, so when I do collages like this you could actually see the people-but for now...

Cannon's not look'n so sure in the new blog header but-welcome to family pics I guess! We'll keep working for the perfect one!
We've had a busy/fun/great week!
So I guess we'll just start at the beginning and see how far we get. I've taken LOTS of pics but...we'll see how many actually make it.
Monday, Memorial Day, Isaac had to work so Cannon and I went to the cemeteries a with grama then she worked on his tux for his blessing day. In the beginning, so cute, so fun-

but by the end, after everything that could possible go wrong did, (sound a little bit like my wedding dress?) it was more like "Who's stupid idea was this?" The verdict-the fabric is cursed! Oh my heck I can't even do it justice describing it on the blog-it was a nightmare and there was really nothing we could do to help or fix it. Seriously Saturday when we were trying to shake poor little guy into the much too small tux like a sack of potatoes, it was so sad/funny/pathetic...I just grabbed the camera.

Anyway as it turns out...PERFECT (also like my wedding dress) and all's well that ends well right.
THANKS GRAMA you are so talented (you haven't lost a "stitch")

Little Green's AC hasn't been working, so this week we traded Isaac for the truck-I'm not sure why, it sure didn't seem like we went very far or did very much. I think my days of stopping at 3 groceries stores to get all the best deals are LONG GONE! Tuesday and Wednesday we did make it out for a walk. Wed Kami and Ann came up and walked with us that was fun. Every time I head up the trail I just think how pretty it is, and its not so bad coming back either! I LOVE IT, so I wanted to take pics (not to make any of our blogger-land followers homesick) but I felt like a dork taking pics so I didn't even back far enough away from the stroller so that Cannon was in them. Oh well, I promise I don't leave him home ;) and the pics don't do it justice anyway, its so pretty I promise!

Thursday was youth conference and neither Isaac or I really new what was going on but I ended up driving kids, then it ended up being and all day thing-little green...no AC ug! So Great Grama Frei tended and Rachel and Lydia came up to see Cannon (they took care of the diaper detail for us) and I borrowed Grama's car to haul the kids as it heated up. Everything ended up working out great. Isaac got home late that night, got a couple hours of sleep, then headed back to work at 1:00 in the morning (after the play had ended cuz it opened that night or something) anyway it made for a really good Friday because he didn't really worry about going into work, it was the closest thing to a "Saturday" we've had with him in a while. Saturday Cannon was 1 Month!! Crazy how time is flying, easily the best 1 month of my life though! Isaac did work and along with the traumatic tux fitting his family came down. Levi and Stacey and Nate and Melanie were staying at the same condo's so we went over there for a BBQ and it was a BLAST. SO NICE of everyone to come, and SO FUN to visit.
That is where Isaac took Little Guy swimming (Thank Goodness Melanie had a towel for us-we're rookie parents and didn't even think of it. GOOD GRIEF) Isaac is such a fun Uncle, the nieces and nephews love him. (But Shawn is probably the favorite-sorry Isaac) And Uncle nothing, he's the funnest DAD, Cannon LOVED swimming...just ask Isaac! Ask anyone else and you might not get the same enthusiasm, they might tell you the truth, that he wasn't so sure. He really wasn't sure when Ethan and Jacob got him with "Cannon Ball" splashes.

Two of my favorite things were first as he was getting in the pool Alli said "This is a big weekend for him, first swimming, then his blessing." It was cute. Then later as he was cuddled up on somebody (I can't remember who had him) Jacob came to check him out and said "He looks exsoxed." (Exhausted) It was darling!

That gets us to Sunday-Blessing Day- Isaac did an awesome job. We'll post more pics later :)
The little video at the end last week proved to be pretty fun so...here's one of the magic bink!

1 MONTH...Dad took me swimming

Could be the start of many swimming birthday celebrations :)

We've had a big week-TONS to post...we'll get to it eventually~
