A little rash Heck!

Wednesday night I put this little cutie to bed with a little rash under his left eye that I had noticed earlier in the day--but it didn't slow us down! We still had a bike wreck and a an evening trip to the lake to report on. Thursday he woke up like this 😩  and it just got worse!  We called our good friend Ryan who is a Derm resident just to make sure our "eh-ride it out" mentality was a good one. He advised us to watch it very closely, for sure go to the derm clinic the next day but maybe a visit to the ER if it got worse. Ahhhhh!  So we watched him really closely through the night, it stayed on his face, his breathing was never labored, we had Benadryl on board so we just kept checking on him -his breathing was good-but it was dark. But once it was light, actually barely light he was still asleep, but as soon as we could see him I knew it was bad! Poor little dude! We met Ryan at the clinic right first thing but waiting for 8:00 was a killer! I was ready to head for the ER at 6:30!
Sooooo that's been today--
What a nightmare! We can't figure out what it's from. The dermatologists thought maybe smoke from the fire last weekend--seems like a long time for it to show up. Cannon, as of today, has little spots on his torso.
We did have our first Tick last week, it almost made last weeks post but either I forgot or was too grossed out to give it any more attention. Who knows! With steroids, hydrocortisone, and antihistamines we are seeing progress but dang it's slow! Still not back to the kid I put to bed last night (below-showing ya the pig) but...

Colt Thurs night
And I thought it was swollen then. Dang! Not going to lie I'm kinda nervous for tonight even with all the meds!
Isaac eventually went into work but then he just kept researching things about the rash and calling which was very stressful for me I finally freaked. He came home and then decided he'd go and get the EpiPen prescription- just in case! (Of course he drove clear to Columbia cuz he could get it for $54 instead of $315 at Walmart) yikes! We hope we're out of the woods but we're just not sure.

While there really was a rest of the week-it hardly feels like it today.

Sooo I'll see how far we get, it might have to be a later post, but I know how those go so I'll see what I can do!
Before we left to go camping we found the little surprise the YW left for us, there were hearts and Hershey kisses EVERYWHERE! (What a mess...did I say that? I'm not complaining about the chocolate stash I've had, that's for sure)

Tanner was loving life and I pulled many-a-wrapped Hershey kiss out of his mouth while we were down there frantically trying to clean it up before we left to go camping.
I totally had to eat crow on the little camping trip, it was really fun. A picture just couldn't do it justice--all five of us piled in a little green with camping supplies! (Isaac said that we had plenty a room,  he was driving, I was sharing my seat with two fishing poles a shovel the diaper bag and two bags of food. The Pettits even took our tent for us! Right honey, plenty of room.)

I'm pretty sure it was a four-man tent that all five of us were in but it was really fun. Tanner played leapfrog for a while and we wondered if he was ever going to go to sleep, but he finally gave up between Isaac and Cannon so Isaac took care of him all night-that was awesome. The pic above shows the little leap frog and his losing battle from falling on a pair of tongs :( I think everyone ended up sleeping really pretty good though!
The next morning the boys needed some dry fire wood! (Whatever that wood is the tinfoil breakfast burritos tasted like poison!!!!)

We had to hurry home so Isaac could help people move. But Cannon got to stay and go fishing with the Pettit's. And that evening we snuck out to the lake that for some family fun. We found the Goehrings out there-good times- and Colt was pretty cute waving at the deer we saw.

Isaac can't figure figure out why won't get in that thing, I told him when all the kids have a life jacket we'll talk-heck, we'll go! Leah was freaking out too--that made me feel better! Misery loves company and I guess so do heart attacks!
Sunday I let the boys paint my toenails. -and pic the color-I might not be a cool mom but better get points for that!

Monday I didn't a single picture but we got to spend a few hours with our good friends the Jacobs who moved to Texas last year but are back for a visit. The boys were in heaven and so was I, Sara is the sweetest!  Tuesday we got out the  park, Wednesday we had the little bike wreck but that's kinda life around here. When Colt took off his shirt I at the lake that night I was surprised to see more bruises! Whoops-Sorry buddy! But they had a blast playing around!

Tanner's walk'n everywhere like it's no big deal these days but it's still weird for me when he comes up behind me and I turn and he's standing there! He's growing up fast.
The boys were particularly proud of their "mid air" and sandy pictures. Haha!

Cann lost another tooth? Did you know the tooth fairy doesn't come when it's stormy? Ya! How bout that?
Parent fail-check!
Luckily it wasn't stormy the next night and she came!

And as of yesterday this rash crud has taken over our lives😔
Dangit!

Camp Ison

Okay quick post today because we're going camping tonight...AHHHH do you know me?...The things we do for our kids, right?
(And the pictures are a little crazy because it won't let me center them or change the sizes...oh well)
So the week:
Isaac aka Superdad has been taking the boys fishing...Poor Tanner had to hang out with me. But when he does cute little things like the wobbly walk with scriptures in his hand--I love it.
The boys happily caught fish!--And were each others photographers! I was so proud of them for taking pictures for me. The pics are from Saturday but they've been two or 2 times since...gotta use up those worms!

Last week the Goering's had us over for a BBQ. We had a great time! And we had a little Fathers Day fun. Last week the Goering's had us over for a BBQ. We had a great time! And we had a little Fathers Day fun.

It had been a long time since we've had a picnic at Dad's school--so we did that this week! And Cannon's glasses came!

I lured the boys into the tub with a promise of a bubble bath. HA, they loved it.
And Colt and I both had shiners this week and the hands of the other two. Cannon got Colt and Tanner got me trying to show me or give me or something his tractor.

They are good kids...mostly...and I love them. But no kidding this next picture is what my days are FILLED with. Ug!

Above was just a picture of their fashion statement socks. HAHA.
This week we got to have some of the Keokuk YW with us. After a really scary abduction where the stake usually has girls camp they vetoed that and came to Kirksville so they needed places for the girls to stay and we volunteer. It wasn't a big deal to help out, we just gave them the basement, and as it turned out we were able to rig up at least a foam pad for everyone a bed. The boys gave up their bed (and mattress toppers) and were pumped to sleep on our air mattress. They were SO excited to have the young women come and had a great time staying up waiting for them. They are busy all day and really just sleep here and eat breakfast but my boys have still had a really great time with their new little best friends. Today they wrote them some "thanks for coming" notes. It was pretty cute-they both have their favorites! HAHA

So quick post. Crazy misaligned pictues...and probably more adventure awaits....its what we do. :)

Last Saturday Isaac spent the morning moving people in the ward--its just part of the summer around here. I'm so impressed with some of the local faithful permanent people here, they've probably helped 300 families moved...and they'll just keep helping. Isaac's probably starting to think he's catching up to them. Ha, just kidding. The boys and I hit the wading pool while he caught a nap on the couch after all the moving stuff. The wading pool was fun, we inadvertently ran into the Jarvis' there, so it was fun to visit with them. Cannon had hoped for the Tilton boys but they fell victim (or won out--ya, probably that) to naps. We actually went to that wading pool 3 times in the last week.

The fact that I only have two little collages of pictures is evidence that after last week I didn't want to get too carried away. I usually love to blog and its a stress reliever for me. Not last week. Oh well. I think I figured out that I lost pictures that I had  tried to edit-so the ones I was going to use-
It must have had something to do with when I was cleaning up my iCloud  but it was dumb. Also for whatever reason it freezes up when I try to embed the movies...so I guess its link's only until I figure something out. Who knows.

And this little toad...he loves to be perched up on the table. We left a salt shaker on the table and he got to it...whoops

This kid has quite the little temper but when he's frustrated or mad (or things just aren't going his way) he hits himself in the head...so I tried to get pictures. I would say "at least he's not hitting other people" but he does that too. Bummer. He's a handful, but he's so dang cute! I love it when he laughs!
Tanner laughing video
Monday Isaac took off on a little river trip with the scouts. So we hung out with the Tilton's. It worked out perfect that both our dads were out of town the same night--so we hung out and had mac'n cheese for dinner and it was just a good time. We're lucky to have lots of really good friend here. We couldn't corral Tanner for out lastest attempt at the 6-5-4-3-2-1 pic...we'll keep trying.

We had fun but by the time Isaac got back, we were ready for him!!! And as much as I would love the boys to save their money I gave in an let them spend it, they got  these Transformer toys and afterwards they played together pretty much perfectly all morning. I thought to myself...So why am I so against them wasting money on that junk?  Well it is junk but I was ready for some peace-so I figured it was a win.

Look at that smile! (he picked out his own clothes just for the record)
Right now the boys oscillate between being obsessed with Power Rangers and Transformers. I told Cannon we would buy him a Power Ranger when he memorizes the Living Christ Document. So little Mr. Memory man has turned on the jets and he's pretty darn close! I told Colt he could get one for the articles of faith, but Isaac told him if he learns to ride his bike! So that's what we worked on tonight. Tanner LOVES being out with the big boys and riding too!

Anyway other than that the week just zoomed by. We had the missionaries and some friends over tonight. Last night I tended while our friends went to Nauvoo to do a temple cleaning assignment. She thought I was doing her a favor, but really it was Isaac's job to find people to go clean so its like they were doing us a favor! Anyway I drove home from their house last night (only a few blocks) in the CRAZIEST storm. It was wild! Lightening everywhere but it wasn't like it was up in the sky it seemed so low flashing on every side, plus the sideways wind and rain.  A (really small) tree branch fell on little green and made a huge bang. It was crazy. I got home and the power was out. Cannon was awake, Tanner was awake-and had a fever and Colt was burning up and starting to wake up. What a night, but we survived it. I am grateful for flashlights and Tylenol.
Until next time!
