Oh man! It’s late but not really that late I’m just really that tired. I thought oh surely I don’t have that much to block about but then I looked at the pics, I forgot our trip to St. Louis!!! I have tons to blog about. So we’ll see what I can do.
We didn’t get out of town very early and by time we stopped and bought that gun I think I finished up blogging last week just as we were rolling in to St. Louis. So we stayed pretty much right down town, the kids loved that the hotel had a parking garage, they were so excited.
Tan said ”the van gets out hotel too! Everybody in our family except for Belle does”. It was so funny. But when we got there the pool is still open so first thing we busted it for the swimming pool. Next we got them to bed (a little longer everybody waiting on one shower than when we can send them to 3) and the next morning we did breakfast and then we walked over to the arch! (Btw I did snap this pic then scream and get to Seth just barely before he got to the street. I was mad at myself for wanting a picture and mad at Isaac for not being closer to him!—I mean he’s is looking at him but you can tell by the direction his body is facing about how worried about it he was.)

Museums and kids are an interesting combination.
And we headed to City Museum next-more of a kid place but still.
We were going to walk but since walking was kind of disastrous the fist time (the arch pic above) and there was the rain and Isaac doesn’t really like to follow pedestrian traffic rules and such -he doesn’t wait for the crosswalk and when he gets honked at I get wound up so it’s just…better that we loaded up and drove.
City museum was a disaster! First of all I had no idea what we were getting into. Isaac had been there once or twice before with the youth at different times but I was picturing like a giant bright happy fun colorful McDonald’s play place on steroids-multiple levels…
Not even close!

Try a dank dark dungeon old city building that was strangely “decorated” was kind of gross. And within the first 20 minutes a worker guy had brought me two kids crying and I got a phone call about another one (who actually stayed around long enough for me to write my phone # on his wrist band) and found his way back up to the front gate because Isaac was just like turn them loose go play wherever it’s fun. Not fun-disaster! Holy cow.
But once we figured out a better schedule like dad will always be sitting right here if he moves mom will sit right there and so kind of one parent was always where they knew they could get back to us and one parent was out having fun with them then they really did like it they had fun-and really after the first level it wasn’t so dungeon-ish. Tons of people though you had to have masks on but I definitely have not been around that many people since Covid hit -and my introverted self kind of doesn’t like people-ha ha.
After that we busted it for the zoo because we have to go to the zoo if we go to St. Louis or at least that’s what our kids think-we were just quick and in the rain but they had fun and Sethy cracking up at the monkeys hopping around was awesome.
Then we headed to Troy Missouri its where Isaac’s students wedding was. Isaac went to the wedding and the boys and I just found a playground at a nearby state park, and then we came home, so it’s kind of a whirlwind trip but we had a really good time.
Sunday Seth found the stickers for Isaac skid steer and Isaac was just laying in bed with his new gun so of course I took a picture!
We rode over to Rizzy’s grave again

Which was a whole lot better before Belle killed a chicken! We don’t know that neighbor but he was so seething mad it was horrible but he wasn’t talking so we just rode her off —I don’t know if Isaac has been over to pay him for that chicken yet or not. I would have liked to run there Monday morning since there was no school but I did not! Stupid dog-ruining my life’ It was kinda weird, I’ve never seen chickens there any of the times I’ve been by -which has been tons this summer-but they were all just out in his yard and now he’s minus 1. Isaac thinks he’s going to teach Belle to not kill them by getting some here… and we have some friends who have some roosters to get rid of so he thinks he’s going to start with roosters that won’t back down to her…and my opinion is that that logic isn’t very sound. It’s just a game for her and can he not remember the guinea fowl??? Whatever! (I hope he’s not teaching at logic classes this semester!) he’s going to do what he wants to anyway so I just shrug my shoulders.
I don’t really know what we did with our day off Monday-whatever it was I didn’t take any pictures of it. On Tuesday while we were mowing we busted out Sethy’s little jeep that was pretty fun.
Wednesday we had his friend Lewis over to play, he loved that and has asked so many times to have him back over.
Yesterday we mowed some more and today we had farmhouse Friday where we had a few friends out and had lunch it was pretty fun! All the evenings are just busy whether it’s football or soccer or…I guess just those two things but it feels like we’re slammed! And Isaac never played organized sports-all of this scheduled-ness is cramping his free spirited style! Hopefully he survives it! Colts football tonight and Cannon‘s is tomorrow.
We need to work with Colt on catching, sometimes Cann let’s the ball get too deep on him-not Colt! Come on bud-ya gotta let your body help ya, go to it!!
