Motorcycles. Motorcycles. Motorcycles.
Today I uploaded all the pictures...but in reverse order--like I don't blog EVERY. Single. Week. I'm losing my mind. Oh well. I've fixed it but-
Fitting that these are the first pics...Motorcycles have consumed our week. I think I dare say that-cuz its true and I told Isaac last night, I'm happy for him but I struggle with the singular focus.
So here's the story, Isaac rode motorcycles growing up. Its just something his family did. He's said all along "As soon as they can ride a bike, they can ride a motorcycle." Well then his sister had a motorcycle that her kids have kind-of out grown so we said "We'll buy it!" And that was a while ago. We haven't actually paid for it yet, but their family was going to Huntington this last week so they were going to take the bike down-and we'll pick it up next time we go. SO...He talked to Sabrina and they worked out a deal and there ya have it--motorcylces on the the brain for Isaac. Enter singular focus. They next thing I know is he was shopping for me? a motorcycle on craigslist....but what he found was one for him. HAHA that's better anyway. And really I have no complaints, before he buys anything he checks with me and makes sure I'm good with it. (see-this is way better than how we ended up with a dog) Anyway, he found himself this motorcycle and its broken -of course that's perfect for Isaac, so Monday he went to look at it. Bought it. And the guy had this little orange one the boys are sitting on that he'd sell him for a good price...so he bought it too. Its way older and I guess way less power than the one we're buying from Sabrina-so he figured it would be good for the boys to learn on. So now we have 2 motorcycles, and 2 more in Huntington, because his dad has one he told him he could have too--or something. So, you know there's always going to be some kind of adventure with us...this week we just all the sudden have 4 motorcycles. Oh so he bought them on Monday but the guy had to drop them off for him after work on Wednesday, so Wednesday night it was back to Craiglist, this time in search of a trailer--which he found and got a good deal on...so there ya have it. How can ya argue with those smiles...
Next its on to buying Helmets. Cannon pronounces is "Hal mit" Isaac is fixing something on the little orange one. Oh, I think he named it "La-ronge" Like a twist on "little orange" whatever. Cannon prefers "Fast baby" But anyway last night I went to a baby shower and he tended the boys, when I got back I took over Tanner and he and the boys went out to work. Well, Cannon had his mallet, that he got in Mississippi, it was his prize for memorizing the Articles of Faith or something, anyway so Colt came in an asked for his hammer. I gave it to him, I didn't know what they were doing with them but I figured they were out there "working" with Isaac. Well shortly there after, Cannon wanted his hammer, I gave him his too. It turns out they're were pounding on and de-barking the tree out front with the claws of their hammers. Isaac was out there but his head was in the motorcycle. Soooo...supposedly the consequence is they really don't get to ride the motorcycle until Cannon's birthday. We'll see. Isaac is still working on it more tonight. Who knows?
Anyway, there really was a rest of the week--its just seemed all motorcycle motorcycle motorcycle.
Saturday we hung out with the Lingwall kids in the day...who said the treadmill's not a toy? I took the cord so no one could plug it in, and this is how they solved that....

Saturday night was Women's conference-excellent as always! OH and my book I made of The Fist Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve came. I was tickled with it. I've said all along I wanted my boys to recognize Elder Holland (or any of the apostles) as readily as they recognize things like "lightening McQueen" or whatever. Sunday our music teacher was teaching the kids the apostles and a song about them and Cannon rocked it. It was like-if you don't know, ask Cannon. It was a proud moment --for all the dang things I do wrong (and there are plenty) I've done something right! But really I can't take credit, can just has a disposition for such things, its pretty remarkable. And I'm grateful. But speaking of our music leader, she has both of my boys in the palm of her hand--its awesome. Sometimes I think things of the Spirit don't come as naturally and easily to Colt-and I know that everyone has different spiritual gifts-...BUT as soon as such a thought enters my mind then there's things like today-he wanted to "play on the preschool computer" and he spent an hour watching a movie about the Prophet Joseph. I was totally impressed and sufficiently humbled. These little people God has entrusted me with, they're pretty amazing!
Monday Cann didn't have school because it was a teacher development day. Our only objective going into the day was the boys clean their room... take a glance at these next pics, little wonder why Tanner is the currently the Golden Boy.

We also ended up going down to the church and playing a little to get out-but hide from the rain. AND...we finished up the matching excavator shirts project. OK sidenote I said "My boys love excavators." to a friend and she said "Is that a superhero?" ... umm nope...I thought it was pretty dang funny. Anyway Children's Place had excavator shirts on clearance for $2! They were perfect! Except they only came in Tanner's size...so we still bought 3 and improvised. I had .80 cent black shirts from when I bought them for Cannon's class, so we did a little modifying and...

I love it when I get pictures of all 3 of them! And I got it twice this week! Colt came in the other morning before school and said "Mom, I need your phone." When I asked why he said "I need to take a picture Tanner." It was cute they had set him up in the chair and were playing with him with a ball but when I said I would just come take picture they piled up in the chair with him...Ok...Even better! I love this one!

We stopped by and saw the "Ducks on the quad" at Isaac's school Tuesday... the boys had way more fun playing on the concrete octopus on campus. And there was a group selling hotdogs...that turned into dinner...sweet.

And last but not least tonight our family ventured down to Cannon's school to the Art fair. Here's a picture of him and his buddy Coen by his art piece, the air plane. I looked around until I saw at least one (other) primary kids art, and figured that was good enough. Buuuuut, as we were leaving I saw one of my primary kids going in, she was so cute and so excited...am I a good enough primary president to go back and write them all "fan mail"???? I dunno, maybe I could mass produce some tonight...but then what if I miss someone??? Time will tell. Time will tell.
Oh and some Colt dialogue just because he's 3 and funny. He's playing independently and I hear "That's using money and wasting it." Hmm wonder where he's heard that before? And then another time I say "Colt why is Tanner crying?"
"Dus tuz he wants to!"
🙄thanks Colt
Life is good.

Good Heavens! Its been another week already! They go so fast, its a blur...speaking of blur how bout the random pictures I find on my phone? This shows ya just how reverent our after church behavior is...
(Oh and that new church time--its the end of March! Can I even still call it "new" probably not but it is DEATH on nap time! That's all I know!)
I don't know exactly what they were doing here, but they were all playing together with the shoe rack and having a great time. (Well Tanner might not say the tipping it over part was so great)
(Oh and that new church time--its the end of March! Can I even still call it "new" probably not but it is DEATH on nap time! That's all I know!)
We've tried a little treadmill time this week. Wow! Its been a while! I sure have cute kids though--I'll go ahead an blame the shape I'm in on them AND I'll do everyone a favor and keep the treadmill pics to just them! Colt was hilarious (as usual) he wanted a turn to do whatever anyone else was doing. I told him he had to have shoes to get on the treadmill and he came downstairs in those dang slippers...I should have said no, but I didn't. Tanner just wants up there and he wants that thing to GO! No way buddy-besides, you have to have shoes. Ha!
TanTan sure is "helpful" these days, and I know the second one is blurry but he LOVES the job of helping wake his brothers up. Of course he does!

First time in the big boys seat of the "Cool Carts" at Walmart for Tanner! Colt...who knows with that kid! He didn't want strapped in but then he told me he would be happy if he was strapped in like Tanner...Ok...
Here he is talking to Dammaw on the blue tooth from his self made "Ship"...ok....
The next one isn't that great of a picture but in real life it was awesome, I kept the picture even though it wasn't great because I feel like I don't end up with as many of Cannon-cuz he's gone all day. Anyway he came home from school and that little computer was left out so he pulled up his favorite song (or one of them) Jonny Horton's Sink the Bismarck and was sing'n along. "We have to sink the Bismarck cuz the world depends on us" It was so cute. Colt was trying too and Tanner, well he wants in on it but that's why the computer ended up on the back of the couch like that-so Tanner couldn't reach.

Don't you wish Isaac was your professor? He told me he wanted to take his students a treat, then today he called and I said oh yeah I'll go get something, but then he told me he'd been looking up healthy snacks and he wanted to take yogurt or string cheese. Oh brother. *I will hook his students up with a real treat one of these days ;) Anyway, so I went up to the little Mennonite store because you can buy almost expired (I swear I didn't buy any that was expired...but its yogurt-but still to give away) anyway the whole case of yogurt is usually about $2. So here he is. I had to take a picture! They are lucky to have him (and so are we!)

Being the end of March I was hoping I was good to go as far as putting away some of our winter stuff...well I got it to a basket but not put away...Colt found the hats while we were trying to read scriptures tonight. He's a character! Oh and speaking of which I asked him if Tanner at fallen asleep in the car today, he said "No, he's just faking it." Oh really. But the story gets worse because poor Tanner was SO tired but didn't get any naps today because of our running around to buy yogurt (and because he's really really stubborn-I did try!) but anyway the only other time he slept was in the car seat again when we went to get Cannon. Well we get are driving home and the big boys are having a discussion about Tanner "Faking it" again. We pull in, Cannon jumps out of his buckles, grabs Tanner's leg and says "Hey Tanner!" and woke him up. I was so frustrated, he said "I just wanted to see if he was really faking it." Oh brother!
And the other bad news...Tonight I accidently got Tanner with my finger nail. Ouch Huh?! I was looking elsewhere and reached for a book it was crumpling and my pinky nail got him. :( then below you can see what he thought of me taking pictures of it. Paybacks.

He actually does that with his left hand kind of a lot--and he has a pretty good swing too. hmm.
Other things this weeks, we hung out with the Pettit's on Monday, and Wednesday we slipped down to the Pine Wood Derby. Our Mississippi ward set the standard with that, it was so fun. Here its both ward but just the cub scouts. Lame. Oh well. And just for fun, if you want to hear Colt sing some primary songs...enjoy. I haven't been able to upload movies from my phone to youtube lately-getting that figured out was nice--so here's an old one of Tan and his Peas too.

Spring Break
Well we started off Spring Break with a little snow (lame) ...enough to make dinosaur tracks in, but not enough to make a snowman...but they tried.
Finally we settled on busting out the tablet searching for Wild Kratts there and popping a little pop corn. Isaac's anthem "This is the life!" was the mantra of the day! And PBS kids did pull through for us the next morning on the TV. Isaac said "If we wanted them to sleep in I guess we should have shut the blinds" yup. whoops. Even with no green anywhere though, the sunrise was pretty sweet up over the lake out the window of our room, I mean, since we had to be awake for it I might as well comment that it was pretty, right?

With cold weather but no school we had to be a little bit creative, I can't remember what we were building out of Graham crackers here but Colt and I were trying so hard to follow Cannon's instructions...ok and get a picture. Then little TanO feast'n on some of his favy's! (Peas but blueberry's are pretty good too-they look like a ball too so they pass.)

One night I told Cannon to either eat his dinner or go to bed...I promptly picked bed. That left Colt some good one on one dad time, so they started working on his new (craigslist) bike. Here they are picking thorns out of the tire, then who knows what Colt is doing.

Well here his job is obviously to hold it up.

Your husband doesn't work on, and then try out his new bike in the living room? Weird! Just teasing I thought he looked pretty silly up there (hence the pic) but sure enough 20 minutes later I was the one perched a top a bike in the living room. Isaac initially went looking for me a bike but what he found on craigslist was a big bike that would fit him way better so we went for it and I get to ride his old one. He was all worried about it-funny guy, but I assured him I was good with it, and I'm really happy he has a taller one! So a bike ride was our big plan for Spring Break but we had to wait until today to have decent weather. Isaac really wanted to go some where and do something though (or maybe I just thought he did) anyway Tuesday I went to lunch with Dennise (we've been trying to make a habit out of it the last few big breaks from school when the guys are off school and can tend--it's fun and rare to sit and visit kid free) Anyway she told me about they places they'd looked into going and we totally ended up benefitting from all of her research. When Isaac mentioned going to St Louis to the zoo. (UG) I said we should look into the stuff Dennise had told me about and as it turned out we headed a short hour and a half north to Honey Creek State Park in Iowa. Found us a little water indoors, stayed the night even though it was pretty close to home, and had a BLAST!
We were pumped when we got there....this is while dad was checking in. Maybe we should have entered their Selfie contest.

And speaking of checking in, leave it to Isaac to get us a good deal on a sweet room, it was awesome! The "water park" was small and more like just a really cool indoor pool-or couple of them- and they ran into the grouchy lifeguard when Isaac tried to take Cannon to do the big water slide but everything else was perfect! We had SO MUCH FUN!

Some of these pictures all look the same, but I tried to take some and then put the phone/camera away and have some fun with my guys!

Since Isaac hooked us up with a sweet room there was a "swimming pool tub" and the boys put it to good use! We were at the pool for 3 hours or so then when we got back to the room, they were in the tub for at least another hour. Maybe more. Isaac would take them bites of Pizza and I'd hear "Ok quit splashing...have a bite." And the truth be told they ate way better with way less of a fight than normal! They were dang hungry after all of that playing...that helped too. It was so fun. We lured them out of the tub with the promise of TV...but by then it was about 9:00 at night and there was nothing for kids to watch at that time of night! But we learned our kids have no concept of TV and how it normally (or used to) work. They kept just wanting me to "search" for Wild Kratts or other shows they like.

Thursday when we got home we had to scramble and brave the dang wind to catch a little park time with the Tilton's between their too trips but we always love to see our friends. Tanner is not longer content to be held while the big kids play...but don't be think'n he's going to let go of that graham cracker either!

Then Mr. always has to have some kind of project (but its one of the things I love about him) ...anyway Isaac dreamt up a good one for us last night and we decided to paint the really ugly navy room at his project house. By time Colt, Tanner, and I got there Cannon had painted this little section mostly by himself! That Cann Man, he's a good little helper...while he keeps reminding me that he's almost 6 he really still 5 and when you have a 5 year old helping you paint...spilled paint should probably be expected right? So part of what makes this next picture great is Isaac cleaning of the spilled paint with a diaper from the diaper bag because it was all we had there. Ha. He wasn't mad, but he told Cannon essentially (I wish I could remember the exact words) "I know you're just a kid, but you just need to try to be a little more mature." I loved Cannon's reply "What's 'mature' dad?"

With two things of open paint, plus a spill, keeping Tanner out of it was a full time job but I will admit we had fun. He doesn't know what he's going to do with that house, but I know one of the reason's he wanted it was so he could do things with the boys. So...Mission accomplished? He made some comment this week about too bad I wouldn't live in it. He got in a little trouble for that, because that was the deal from the beginning and I'm just not that good of a wife!
Today the boys wanted to go to the beach so we did (oh that's what they wanted to do for spring break last Saturday when it snowed too so Isaac took them in their snow clothes) anyway today we went back and TanTan and I joined them. The boys had a blast, we had a lot of "no no no" conversations trying to convince Tanner not to eat dirt. And the dog ran around like a maniac the whole time.

This afternoon we finally got that bike ride in and we got the Lingwall's to join us. It was really fun, we rode down to the park -ate a few treats and let the kids play- then rode back. We ended up having to cross about 3 busy roads (they have 4 since they rode to our house) so it would definitely be better if we could get to the trails easier but oh well.
And just a picture of Tanner because I thought him turning the pages of the scriptures was so cute!
Tonight we went down to the St. Patrick's day parade with the Jarvis'...there was a fun run/walk before we were going to do but when I realized how much it cost-no way, I don't care if it is for a good cause! But anyway we went down to the "parade" oh dear. First of all it was 5 floats long, second of all they were all the beer company vehicles. The Lingwall's had invited us over but we already had plans...ya we should have bailed and went their way! Note to self St. Patrick's day is pretty much just an excuse to drink. YIKES. Come on Lyndi, you don't live in Utah anymore...you gotta think about things. Sometimes I'm embarrassingly naĂŻve! hmm
I guess we'll know for next time.
