It has not been the best week, in fact it wasn't even a good week. Really if we ( mostly I ) can learn from the things that made it ugly it can be a good thing. SO I'm really glad that we get to try again :) Moving on...Some good things happened too, Saturday was good. We went to the red rocks with the boys, and went to the temple.

Wonder why Cannon loves to throw rocks? See bottom right of the pic above :) I guess they do it a lot when they go look for equipment...I had no idea! We visited Grampa great and went over to Uncle Coy and Georgette's Sunday--
I don't have pictures but Monday we visited some gravesites and had a bbq. Isaac headed back very early Tuesday morning. It is very rare that I find myself entirely without a camera but it happened twice this week, first at the splash pad--oh the kids were darling, the had it to themselves and ran wild, so fun!! And then we went and fed some ducks and there were little ducklings, so cute. Here's some random phone pics. It sure is dry here so Cann is helping Colt out with a little chapstick :)
Then just playing...my little treat head, this weeks face injury, that laundry basket game is really fun. And we did make it back to the splash pad again with a camera and played in Ann and Elsies kiddie pool.

Klem got pics of Grampa out hoeing weeds...I thought it was pretty priceless!
I think that's about it!

Whoa, a lot has happened in a week!
I'll for sure have to fix/edit/explain pics on this weeks post but for now...

Isaac met with the professor at the U Monday and it went awesome, the guy basically gave him his office for while he's out of town. So there ya have it, really its not nailed down yet but we basically have an internship like thing in Utah this summer. (Isaac ever the optimist packed just about everything he owns-I was super surprised when I saw how packed our trunk was, jam packed) I however packed more like for a week or ten days for the boys and I but whatever its working out. He left us down South as he headed up to his interview and we think we might go with that because I of course would want to spend a lot of time down here anyway and it's easily the best option financially but dang I miss him. We'll see how it all plays out. We'll burn up the freeway, Him come back on the weekends, us go up and spend the week a couple of different times. Nothing's for sure yet, well, except that we miss him, I kind of ragged on him a little bit in last weeks post-about not giving me my love not. I've felt bad about that this week...I'm just really excited for him to come back!

A Visit with Great Grama Cottam

9 months for Colt! That's pretty exciting! We went to the Children's museum here and little water park with the cousins. I loved the museum and all the St. George connections.

Cannon's enjoyed the heck out of all the cousin time and of course loves to hang with Grampa. They've been up to the new corrals a couple of times. He might have even had more fun throwing things for the dogs down at the creek (and yes this one is pronounced crick...not all are-but this one is!) anyway he's enjoyed that as much as driving the mini and that's saying something!
Colts been a little sick-again, or maybe still-no I think he really was better, anyway he's been extra clingy and cranky and his spots are back. Bummer. He's also figured out the tongue clicking thing, and how to suck through a straw (AND blow bubbles) and we might need to find the poor kid a helmet (we have several back in Mississippi) but he's taken a few headers.
Today (all these yellow shirt pics) I just kept seeing things I wanted a picture of and to put on the blog--I should have made a collage, oh well. First the spots, then Cannon was sharing pretzels with Sugar and Colt thought he'd try to get in on it.

Colt Man going to town on a Popsicle and Cann with his best friend Sugar:

Cannon loves to use the Dog door to get in and out of the garage. He's got his cousins to do it too. Gross.

Until I get more pics on...I thought I'd loaded more from my phone, the boys playing and laughing together, Colt trapping himself under a laundry basket, and such. And Ky has a couple on his nice camera I want to snag and I haven't even looked at my camera, phone only so far, better than nothing!

He wasn't the one to get this stuck--just tried to get it unstuck.
Saturday Isaac went back to Louisville to do more tornado clean up so it was just me and the boys. Cannon said "Happy Mother's Day Mom! Let's celebrate!!!!" It was so cute.
I never really intended to be one of those I hate Mother's Day people but I think I am. Something crappy always happens. I don't remember WHAT it was last year but I remember how I felt. Isaac gets so frustrated at my tendency to remember bad...:( oh well. This year we tried to give our primary teachers a break and singing leader too, so I had planned singing time (not a ridiculous amount of effort-that part was still in my trunk I just didn't get to it Saturday but I did plan it and I did drag my kids to two stores for it Saturday and I was excited about it) Only to have the men come in and arrogantly and rudely FORCE us to leave primary--cuz they wanted to do something ?nice? for us for Mother's day, here's an idea: try not being a jerk. It was awful. Isaac had realized what was happening and came to warn me while Kim was still doing sharing time. (Because he knew of my preparation.) He said "The men want to come in is that going to work?" I said "That's fine as long as I can stay." He said that would be fine then left, but then the men came and seriously bullied us out of there. Rude. Jerks. I was so ticked I just left and went home, which also proved disastrous because when I went back to get the boys I parked in a different stop because I just wanted to grab and go but Isaac didn't get the messages-or call- I'd sent him so he took the boys home so there I was still fuming mad having to make 15 laps around the church looking for him until someone finally told me he'd left. It was horrible. Happy Mother's day.
I could buy myself anything I wanted for Mother's Day and Isaac would be cool with it but I didn't need anything and I'd just been spoiled with my folks in town so I told Isaac and Cannon I just wanted a love note for Mother's Day. I know he at least started one, he was cutting out a pink paper heart when I walked in so fuming mad after the church disaster. So that night I crawled into bed and said "I never got my love note" to which he replied "I know" then after a few minutes "It wasn't a good day so I just couldn't bring myself to give it to you."
See--happy mother's day--it sucked! I was kinda thinking he could have given it to me to help the day be better-hmm-silly me!
On to happier things!
Colt's FINALLY got some little teeth poking through! I'll take a picture when it's a little more visible. One on the bottom is through the other is really really close!
Our friend Patrick had rented a skid steer to help with the clean up in Louisville and let Cannon come drive it, it was awesome!
He also had us over for dinner, it was really nice of him and really fun.
Colt got sick last week and his body seems to deal with fever via spots-poor little guy! These pics aren't great but I have to document because it happened one other time and I was so glad I was able to go back and look. That time it was just on the left side of his face though, it started there then went to the right then it would just move all over, bum, legs, arms, back to his face, it was pretty crazy.
They weren't going away so I took him in on Monday but they said don't worry about it (unless his skin starts "sluffing" of!!!!!") Um okay, and yikes!
I already posted the rest of the weeks excitement... there ya have it! Pretty fun!

Road trip!

A Friday post? I've got a draft started and by draft I probably mean raging vent, but...I'm married to Isaac so we have a little spontaneous road trip going on... I'll catch up.
Colt has a little tooth popping through and he was our little "spot" this week. Cann just only wants to go to Grama's house or eat if it's at Grama's house. I've got things to write!
Update:
Tuesday Isaac told me he had an interview about a research project in Utah and that he wanted to go and do it in person. Wednesday he confirmed with the professors secretary for the in person meeting and Thursday we took off through the night. Amorillo by morning? Almost!
And we tried to give the kids a couple breaks during the day at a play place or a park anyway we rolled in about 5 Saturday morning. Here we are
I'm not going to lie I'm a beast to travel with and the prep to get ready is a garuntee for a fight or at least tension at our house. Isaac has told me before he never wants to go anywhere with me again --he was feeling that way Thursday before we got out of town! In fact I got invited to just stay and fly out June 2nd like I was going to--beast or not, over my dead body! And It's not a road trip with Isaac (his bro Nate agrees with me in this one) without getting pulled over, we got our warning in Texas but all in all we survived! And here we are! Grama and Grampa had a wedding in Vegas to be to so we told Uncle Ky of our plans but no one else.
It was a fun surprise.
And up next? No one really knows until after he meets with that guy in SLC next week!

Cannon is 3!!!!

With this cute little 3 year old, and his cute little brother, and a Grama and Grampa visit...boy do I have a lot to catch up on!
Friday night was going to be fathers and sons but it got canceled because of the  Helping Hands tornado clean up deal which Isaac went on.
He had taken stuff to spend the night but they came back by like 6 oclock and after he got cleaned up and we'd eaten we left Grama with tired little Colt (who has no interest in napping if something might possibly be going on) -he fell right asleep- and headed down to catch the tail end of the Braves game. Cannon watched for a while but then just plopped his head down on my lap, I figured he was worn out from playing so hard, he felt a little warm too. Sunday, May 4th my little guy turned 3!
He was so excited he finally got to open his present I made him get all dressed in his church clothes first because I knew getting ready would be a battle after new toys were figured in.
We took cupcakes to his little nursery class but he really just wanted to go to primary with me and for Sister Shields to be his teacher because he was 3 now. (So cute, I might have to let him sneak in with the sunbeams one of these days.) Anyway during sacrament meeting when he started whining about just wanting to go home, because of how he'd felt at the ball game the night before, we took advantage of Grama and Grampa being here and sent them home with both boys after sacrament. (Ahhhh church was so relaxing after that) Cannon came home and had a 3.5 or 4 hour nap! But we also got lots of birthday celebrating and fun in.
We had the Elders over to share a little Spaghetti (Cannon's favorite) and cake with us. It was a fun day!

We looked so forward to Grama and Grampa coming, we had so much fun. Then they had to go back. Oh the highs and lows. I learned when Grama and Ann came to tell Cannon they "might not get here until ..." (the next morning) but remembering Grama opening her arms and Cannon running into them last Thursday morning-is the best! And the fun began.  Grampa was a little worried that Colt wouldn't go to them because it had been so long since they'd been around him. But thank you facetime! Ease your worries Poppa this little boy loves you too!
(Rest assured I'm still the favorite :) we kept filming him throwing a fit then stopping immediately when I would pick him up. It was hilarious, spoiled? Definitely.
Cannon wasn't quite up for the Bass Pro Shop hat photos instead he wanted Milk and a Silk
I was a little worried that Grampa who goes a hundred all of the time (work, cows, Poppa Great, the garden, and so on) was going to be bored out of his mind and I admit he got a fair amount of the Ensign (or maybe two Ensigns) read while he was here but I think he only got super bored one time.
He and Cannon played a lot of baseball and he and Colt worked on crawling...

We did Grama's mothers day present a little early:
Really I had the perfect pre mothers day ever! I got to spend time with my mom (and dad) AND my boys cooperated for family pictures. So fun.
I blinked and Monday AND Tuesday flew by and Wednesday morning we had to take Grama and Grampa back to the airport. :(
Really Monday I had a well check appt for Cannon and we found out he had a double ear infection. Poor little guy. And Tuesday was when I got my family pics :)
Wednesday, dropped them off at the airport and mostly I was sad, I'm such a baby but I just hate the distance! We tended Jeremy, and I did my first ever Facebook post??? I think it was the first time I've posted anything, who knows- I posted this on Grama's wall!
Thursday Preschool (Great turn out, maybe I wasn't prepared for all of them but oh well we had fun) and now its Friday, back to the grind. We are having dinner with some friends in our ward so that should be fun!

While last weekend was anticlimactic-Isaac went to school Saturday too. Monday was plenty nerve racking and by today: He's made it through the semester!!!! We're done with 2 years of Phd school! YAY, Blake at Annie were at this point when we moved here so its like I can see that there is really light at the end of the tunnel! And praying we can get done a little early like they did too! Pretty Happy and very proud of Isaac, he's worked very hard and and done very well in school.
Tuesday was actually a lot more nerve racking than Monday and the tornado...I didn't really want to leave the house cuz we were still on watch and it was in the back of my mind what if there's another warning, I don't want to be at Kroger with my kids, that would be horrible. So we stayed in and I took more pictures of my kids than usual :)
Wednesday however I was down right giddy, just bursting with excitement because Grama and Grampa were coming. I really hope someday when my kids are grown (ok well first I hope they don't live so dang far away) but I hope my kids are even a fraction as excited to see me and Isaac come as I am to see my parents. My heart just jumps! I love it. We were walking to the mail and I said "Oh one of the things I need to get when Grama and Grampa are here is a new family picture." Cannon countered with "One of the things I need to get when Grama and Grampa are here is a prize." That kid, he's a character! They didn't get in until 11:00 Cannon and I were both pretty wound up but he did give up and go to bed. But when he woke up, they were here and the spoiling began. :)
Grama didn't make him get in the cart at the dollar store. Mistake.  He's cashed in on a prize or two. We went to Chuck E. Cheese, and to the Braves game.
I have pictures but we're just having so much fun and playing that I almost forgot its Friday and I needed to post (and that's saying something for me) so I'll catch up later. For now we're just soaking up the Grama and Grampa time!
(oh and Isaac's back at school working away...but we really are technically done with the semester)
Colt buddy has been doing a few little crawls but the bigger news is as of yesterday he's pulling himself up to things and standing up instead of  just kneeling ...(and tipping over too-that parts been a little rough)
Here's Cann helping me get ready for company :)
Picture Catch up:
