We have been having a great time with Isaac's parents here! I love watching our kids build stronger and stronger relationships with their grandparents! Its really great. Kirksville isn't the most exciting destination but we've had great time, we've enjoyed absolutely perfect spring weather, grandma brought some good books for when the boredom sets in, and grandpa has had a few chances to drive around and explore our booming metropolis. HA! Isaac's come home a little early when he could and didn't even go in yesterday so we've enjoyed more time with him too. I can't say we've "stayed busy" although having grandma around is kind of like having two extra hands AND a maid-its great-she stays busy! But we've been able to have a good time. They are leaving tomorrow and my mom and Kami and the girls are coming but driving home tonight Cannon said "Why can't everyone just stay?!" We've lived away from family for almost 5 years now, its still hard, but I'm so so so thankful that we still have strong and close relationships!
So about this week...
All's well that ends well right? So I can blog about it, right? Oh man, we were driving to church Sunday and Cannon said "Mom, I accidentally wrote on the seat." I said "You accidently wrote on it?" And Isaac said "You better not have." Well then we got to church...there was no accident about it, he had found one of the pens the kids I took to Nauvoo had left in the van and on the back of the seat Tanner sits in he wrote "tan" ...after church when Isaac crawled back in there to get the headrest off to try to get it off-he found scribble marks that Cannon didn't do-from those kids I hauled to Nauvoo. Its all water under the bridge-grandpa Ison was here and told us to try carburetor cleaner to get it out-it worked perfectly, so its kind of no harm no foul but wait dangit, the little stinkers, not only is that super disrespectful--I feel like that put the idea in Cannon's head. He did it, he knew better, but still. Anyway so we'll be addressing being respectful in primary and scouts! I don't think it fits in the "keep the blog positive" category but it was a big part of the day.

We've been out for a walk pretty much every day I think! Tanner-boy, he throws a fit if he thinks someone is getting to go outside without him. (He prefers the garage and putting things in his mouth--that's no good) It's been all week but he's finally starting to figure out the buttons and that they make noise on this little fighter jet. Then, Colt the helper "Helping" with dishes! Grandma is so so patient with him and all the messes-that is good, cuz I'm not.

They got their helmets, used--a good deal-- you're not surprised-- We had to do some cleaning, they're kids sizes I don't think kids were smoking in them, but I do think they were sitting in a smoky garage. Gross. Whatever. They'll be fine. (Isaac's dad was a little intrigued by my reaction verses Isaac's...however, that dichotomy is totally normal around here. Oh well) Then the motorcycle in the mini van...again, you're not surprised!

So far Cannon just rides over at "the project house" where the old railroad went through and between the lots. Tanner and Colton just play in the dirt in the back yard.

Cannon's getting better! I actually got to see him crash a couple of time this trip, its crazy, but it was really REALLY good for me. Because, it wasn't a big deal, but I don't think you could have convinced me of that without me seeing it, too much mama bear in me! But it's good, just enough to scare him so he stays careful but he doesn't get hurt. Ralph told me it was better for them to crash when they're little--now I get it. (I'm still glad I wasn't there for the initial learning though.) And a little dirt pile...must be road over! I told Isaac this is Missouri's version of "hill climbing" HA!

I got this picture from Michaila this week--I'm so thankful there are other members in his class!

More walks with Grandma! (Don't worry the picture of me riding the kid bike is coming...really.)

Oh and more spoiling...Grandma gave the boys this tunnel and tent thing for Tanner's birthday...its pretty fun. When they all three got to rough housing in it she said "It might not last very long." ...we'll try to keep them semi contained, it will be fine!

A while back Isaac found this guy who had a bunch of MG's he's been wanting to go look at them for months, so the fact that grandpa was here and could go with him was perfect. Until that morning when he told me we would probably come home with a plan to buy one. Ahhhhh!!! Thankfully that didn't happen. But we all went and made a little day trip to Quincy out of it. We just hung out at a park -the sight of the famous Lincoln Douglas debate (if you're a history buff) and went to the museum that was on the corner.

And...about me on this little bike. Cannon didn't want to ride any more. So I told him I would. Then Colt didn't want to ride-so Cannon volunteered for the strider bike. They made me wear a helmet-even though it wouldn't fit--and Colt volunteered his sunglasses. Game on.

The good news is, after a little while I did talk Colt in to riding it if I held on to it for him. I did, but because of his balance from the little strider bike he could ride by himself no problem if he wasn't so stubborn. Isaac had him doing it they other day--but when he realized Isaac was just running beside him he quit. That's why I had to agree to hold on before he's do it--he's crazy--
And tonight was the ward talent show or "beans on broadway" who wants chili in the spring? NOT ME! But I made some anyway. (I hate "Chili Cook-off's" but I accidently one the "Most like Grandma's" award. HAHA) Anyway, talent shows are interesting...at best...
Cannon's buddy Andrew talked him into helping with his little science experiment. They were making elephant toothpaste...from a spectator standpoint...it was painful. Cannon loved it though--total highlight for him!
Well we've had a great week-the boys have even been sleeping downstairs with Grandma and Grandpa- so fun. ...and its more adventures ahead!
