Leaves are falling all around and they are making a huge mess, I'm tired of them being tracked in the house! But at least the boys are having fun.

Saturday it was off to Nauvoo for the stake RS activity? Conference? Whatever it was. It was good but a little crazy...when the lady was telling us about a use for everything bread mix and said "Cuz who buys hot dog buns?" I wanted to shout "ME! Because they are 85 cents at Aldi and there is NO mess, and besides who cares if you don't know 'exactly' what went into it, Hello! You're eating it with a Hot Dog the ultimate mystery meat for heavens sake." I refrained but that's kind of the level of over the top it was. This gal makes her own everything-and has a website about it all and oh yeah she planted her own wheat field last year just to see if she could harvest her own. Impressive, yes! But, I'm just say'n probably not my stage of life! And if everything goes poof tomorrow...maybe I'll try to hitch hike to her house with one of horse and buggies around for a little wheat ;) The little cleaning class was basically a list of things I don't get done-great-and the cute crafts for kids class was good but when Chatty Kathy entered I wondered if we were ever going to get out of there. I know way more about that lady's childhood and what she liked to draw than I care too. Ohhh (sigh) so after that little vent are you going to believe me if I tell you it was good activity? It was, I picked up some good things, I just had to vent a little too. It was just a really long weekend!
Sunday I survived. I was sustained as Primary President. Wait WHATTT???? Yeah that's pretty much what I'm ask'n too. When the Bishop called me I wanted to call Kim and cry, instead was just grouchy with Isaac when he smiled and chuckled about it. That poor guy-but really its in his best interest to figured out when is a good time to laugh and when its not! Anyway... Oh boy...we'll do our best. Don't ask me how we're going to swing ward council-I haven't figured it out yet! Cannon was super excited that mom got to go with him to primary though, I loved that.
Super dad was at it again Monday night, the kids didn't nap but he'd been telling them they would carve they're pumpkins so they went for it. I remember it as being awful, the pumpkins guts making me want to puke and so on...pumpkin guts are so minor after kids. Especially in the middle of the 6 month potty training with Colt!
Cannon got to draw his own face on and he is super proud of his Ghost pumpkin. Colt and I were going for Tow Mater....
They are on the porch but the boys loved the initial lighting test run in the bathroom. So cool to them. Preschool was awesome and of course we had more costume fun. This is the only pic of Colt with his beard. He hates it.
Thursday we went to one of Isaac's classes. It was fun to go but that is nap time and rest assured I paid for that little trip. YIKES. The kids really do have a blast just dressing up. Sunday Isaac was gone again on another one of those "real quick" home teaching trips but we were FaceTime'n my parents (and Aunt Laur) and the boys wanted to put their costumes on, and they just left them on and played for hours~they love it, and it totally makes all the work worth it. I wish Colts head was turned but the smile is there, so I still just love this pic!
My ideas of grandure??? oh that was a sleigh and Rudolph's body to pull it. I kind of stole the idea from our friend Katie in Mississippi who was a horse last year and let her daughter ride her. I didn't make mine weight bearing...but I should have. My kids, other kids, they all want to ride Rudolph. Anyway, Maybe it was cuter in my mind?! I wish Cannon's costume had skinnier legs for when he was hooked up and Colt wouldn't smile. I did have to wake him up to take him to the (pretty lame...whoops did I just say that?) ward trunk or treat and it was pretty dang cold but, you get the idea and we had fun. I took my good camera but its still out in the car so the phone pic will have to suffice. (And I let Cannon be 100% in charge of the tinsel just for the record.)
A few more just funny things they say. Cannon was begging to watch the tablet, I said something along the lines of "You'd watch TV all day." To which he said "But Grampa likes TV....So when I get older I can just watch TV all day?"
And I
gave the boys a blow pop, that's the treat we dressed up and took to Isaac's class, so Colt licks it, gets a huge grin on his face and says
"tastes yike dum dum!" Then later he was eating some left over lucky charm type cereal
that he got at the RS thing and of course just picking out the marshmallows and with same grin "tastes yike marties" both hilarious, dum
dums and smarties, they still reign around here! It won't last but I've gotta enjoy it while it does!
