The drive is rotten but totally worth it for the fun week we had!!

So so so much fun this last week! Tons to blog but in the middle of the miserable drive now so—I’ll blog later! So far we got stuck in traffic up over the mountains in Colorado for about a 2 hour delay in which I caught 3 rounds of puke! Yikes, thankful I caught it though if we’re looking for the bright side of things. Hoping for smoother rest of the way!!

Saturday Isaac had meetings in Quincy and I had big plans for a fun day with my boys. Ug! I need to lower my expectations. It was fights galore.
We did have some fun though. The boys collected snow for snow cones—gross! But they were eating it anyway so I figured what the heck and we made genuine snow cones and they ate them with their pancakes.

It was cold though and that was the end of their going outside which contributed to the downfall of our day. Eventually we got the living room cleaned up and got to put the tree up. Somehow for no good reason we still have the $3 yard sale tree we bought in Mississippi (it’s so far past garbage its ridiculous!) But...the boys put it up in their room and then made ornaments for it, because we didn’t get ornaments out yet.

Sunday I got a new calling as a primary teacher and Isaac got a new counselor in the bishopric because the Williams try as the night couldn’t find housing in our ward. We will miss them but we’re excited for Isaac to get to serve with Brother Moody, we love the Moody’s!
Tanner sneaking toys and blankets into our suitcase. Who knows what we really ended up with!

We took off Thursday night and drove through the night, we made it in 18.5 hours and now the good times -and legos-are rolling!!!

This is one of my favorite views! I love watching the boys play on that cellar hill outside the kitchen window! There was t really enough snow to sled but it was icey so good enough. And how bout that kitchen window-it finally has trim!! —my boys are lucky to have such a good fun dad!

Let’s see what else?? Wednesday we had the missionaries over for dinner and they challenged us to each complete the sentence “If the Book of Mormon is true then...” so at lunch yesterday I asked Colt and he looked up and matter of factly said “then we can learn from it!” Then paused for a few seconds and added “...and we can share it with others.” It was awesome! (And he wanted Jesus in his picture with him)

It actually feels like a pretty slow week-we’ll take it!

We tried it out Tuesday and the boys were pretty excited!
Bout it.
Saturday with only a blink of notice we invited the Larsen’s over and we’re happy it worked out that they could come. It was a little chilly, but we had fun. The weather is the bummer about finally getting the zip line up—all of the sudden it’s too cold to use it. Sunday was a broadcast stake conference with the North America central area, its a massive area thatstretches from British Columbia to Manitoba and down here by us...maybe clear to Arkansas but it didn’t feel as far when we got Elder Holland ๐ he’s alway just a little taste of Home and I love it!!
The weeks big project was probably the basketball hoop.
We tried it out Tuesday and the boys were pretty excited!
Wednesday Isaac went with the youth-Thursday I went to RS and today we woke up to snow! Ug! Already!!!
Cann went out and played in it first before school but I didn’t follow however I did grab one quick pic of each of these two after I got back from taking Cannon to school before I headed for the warm house! The played out there for over an hour-and were pretty proud of the snow castles they made. (Colt did upgrade to gloves eventually.)

Today we went to a fun play date where the kids played and the moms discussed president Nelson’s Book of Mormon reading challenge and what we are learning from it. I am thankful for good friends!!

Thats the wrap on the week though! Just one more random pic...evidence of why all our balls are flat!
Bout it.

Halloween “what the heck?”
Tanner says “what the heck?” ALL OF THE TIME. I know he hears it from me-but it’s Isaac too. The variety of situations he responds with that is a mix of funny, embarrassing, and sometimes cute...so I guess...what the heck?
We had a very busy and fun week! St. Louis is too far for a day trip...but we did it anyway. We were on the rode by 6 got to the zoo just after 9 I dropped them off and headed back to the temple. When I was done we traded and I did the zoo with the kids while Isaac went to the temple. Oh one cool thing was that I ran into a girl who was in our ward the last two years here at the temple. That was fun. Anyway Saturday was “boo at the zoo” oh boy! But there were crafts and activities and we had fun. When Isaac got back we headed for Six flags. Clear across town—makes me appreciate that we can get anywhere in Kirksville in 10 min! After an hour or so Grama’s plane was landing so we headed to the airport (she was going to fly into Kirksville but when we were going to be there anyway we had her cancel and it was awesome-a super short trip for her so it was like we gained a 1/2 a day) Her tickets were originally for the primary program but when it got moved we decided to just leave them because the kids had school off Monday. We decorated a little...
Cashed in on some Grama snuggles
Even roped her into playing UNO (rim in the middle of the floor is a nice touch) and watched a little Netflix
Monday we had big plans for a furniture store in Macon. Total flop! They have other stuff too but I thought I was shopping at one of those bad reoccurring attempted business yard sales. Blech it was awful and we left empty handed (thank goodness) Luckily the Burger King had a play place, so we hit that up then came back to Kirksville. It was kindof anticlimactic but sure enjoyed the fact that Grama was here so we went with it. Tuesday we took the boys to school then just kindof got ready to take Grama back to the airport. We picked Colt up and headed that way. The boys insisted on waiting until the plane was in the air. So we sat and extra 30 min outside the fence. As the plane taxied away Colt said “I’m going to climb this fence and go with her.” Tan said “nooooo I got him mom” and grabbed the back of his shirt. It was pretty cute.

Wednesday was BUSY! 5 minutes before we walked out the door Cannon told me he wanted to wear a Halloween shirt. The day before he refused to wear a red shirt for red ribbon week so I just figured he wasn’t into the whole dress up all week long. But I grabbed a black shirt a q tip and some bleach and this is what he got. Not great but literally 5 min...and sometimes I wonder why I even give in on his no notice nonsense-I’m creating more and more of a monster. Oh well. Colts school they had to do pajamas. I think it would be fun if they got to dress up but I also understand why they don’t let them. Santa jams it was.

Tan and I went down to Colts “party” but Colt morphed right into a clingy mamas boy—and he was NOT THRILLED about the mummy toilet paper game. Then it was home grab a quick lunch then back down to Cannons school where we took most of the games. Below Cann is with his best bud Isaac. A red head named Isaac...should I worry?!?! ๐ they’ve been fast best friends all year!
When we got home I was scrambling to finish “pup packs” on the boys costumes (they turned out cute but the ONLY pic that I got of them was when Cannon was trying to get his brothers to make a Y) anyway why I did that the boys painted pumpkins...then started carving them on their own. Which was fine as soon as I kicked them outside to the picnic table.

Anyway here they are Zuma, Rocky, and Cosmo the cougar!

Colt and his loot out of order but whatever...

And hey BYU football is pretty up and down this year but we all know Cosmo can dance so Cann was work’n the that too. (Oh and we painted his face cuz we were going to the church and the no masks rule. But...we did sneak it on real quick when the Missionaries wanted a picture with Cosmo. That was actually Cannons favorite thing-they made his night!

After the trunk or treat we went to the community thing where the kids went down the big jump house slide over and over and over-And hey we wore one out...then the others wanted to fake it, Cann couldn’t keep from laughing.

In post Halloween fun we had the Pettit’s over thurs and had a good time then today the two younger boys and I went to a lunch time play date at the Potters, it was fun. Tanner started limping yesterday and while I was sure he would sleep it off-it was worse today. So we’ll see on that one. Oh and here’s the boys school pics.

I think that’s about it, well that and other noral stuff, we played basketball one day-grabbed the Tilton kids one day. Just the usual.

Zip Line!!
Its been a busy week! My Aunt and Uncle came—so fun! We loved having them!

They had been to Nauvoo and headed our way. We might have interrupted their planned travels but we had a great time and hopefully they’ll come back and hit the church sites west of us another time soon ๐Teresa slipped right into Grama mode and kept bringing the boys goodies every time she went to a store. The loved it!! Above they are playing the Kerplunk game she bought them.
It was extra fun to have them here for the primary program.
The story was he ended up just having to drop. And his pulley was still up there...

This pic is a later run but it shows where he dropped from —-and then how we got the pulley back

But the it was pretty much bring on the fun.

obviously this was the big event of the week but I had a few more pics—
Isaac was working on the windows...we just had to get that zipline up first ๐ the Pettit’s offered to tend Thursday so we had a little paint date and painted trim.
Cutest church cleaners around

And I’m running out of time on costumes...this might be as good as it gets for Mr Cosmo.

I’m sure there’s more to tell, but I can’t remember...

The boys worked tirelessly to memorize their parts for the primary program. Cannons teacher had bribed him with Skirtles and I told Colt I would match that deal. Well as it turned out A different teacher was the one standing there helping the kids and as soon as she pointed to Cannons spot on the program he looked down and never looked up again. Read the whole darn thing! I was bummed because he knew it so well. But oh well. His teacher let him do it in class and still have him skittles—nicer than me! Colt had extended his part (several times it was SO CUTE watching his little testimony shining through) well when it came to the program he was line up with all the other kids in his class and the teacher said one line and then they repeated it so Colt just followed suit. But afterward he was so upset-I turned to Isaac and said “he’s going to cry” so we waved him down to the bench and tried to setttle him down. He wanted me to ask the primary president if he could do his part again I told him I couldn’t but he could. He wasn’t so sure but as he slid past me and mumbled his request to Isaac, Isaac said “oh sure” of course. I didn’t know how he was going to pull it off but he did. He text the primary Pres but-I’ve been there. I knew it wouldn’t work-no Way would she have her phone it’s the worst stress Sunday of her year. But he had a back up plan he text Colts teacher and asked him to let the primary Pres know that Colt had more and did she think she could squeeze him in? Then he waited until his teacher looked up and he wiggles his phone at him. So Josh (Colts teacher who is FANTASTIC by the way) reached in his pocket and pulled out his phone and read the text then let the primary Pres who was behind him know. She was awesome and I saw her talking to Colt about it then just before one of the songs she got up and said “Colt went above and beyond and prepared more than his part, I didn’t give him a chance so he’s going to share it now.” And Colt stepped up and NAILED IT. It was so cute. And I was so grateful his primary teachers for making it work for him because I wasn’t sure what I was going to do to help him feel better-he had worked so hard.
Happily it all worked out :)
And the zip line! The latest all consuming project gets its maiden voyage. Tuesday I had Cannon and his friends playing basketball, when I got back to my phone I found this text. Ha!

A birthday party for a little boy in our ward. I love getting to visit with our ward friend, some I just don’t get to see anymore because I’m not in primary.
