I wasn’t made to sit in a car! —Tanner

The title is what Tanner told me during one of his meltdowns mid drive —pretty much I feel the kid!
But we drove through the night last Friday night and got to Cle Elum on Saturday.  Of course we flip-flopped over whether we’d really even go to that reunion at all, but I’m really glad we went we had a great time! Now that it’s Friday again I am ready to be home!!! But that’s not really in the cards quite yet either so I guess we might as well just keep having fun! And we might even end up heading to St. George tonight so that would be fun for me.
Anyway let’s see what the pictures hold:
Cousin time! And I’m not sure why stealing Ethan’s hat is so fun…but it is!

Church was awesome! (Opening hymn was Redeemer of Israel—always a win for this mom’s heart—I felt right at home😊) The branch is jam packed with missionaries that work at Ensign Ranch a church owned recreational property that was just down the road from where we were staying. We parked by this “bat mobile” and the missionary offered to take the boys for a spin-but they had to hold Canadian flags the other missionaries tease them that they are recruiting.

This couple below spoke in church, well he did. Then the time ran out so she’s on the slot for the Sunday after fast Sunday 🤣 but anyways we really enjoyed his talk so for relief society and priesthood (they combine) so Isaac went and sat by them and told her he felt ripped off that he didn’t get to hear her talk but anyways we chatted with them and it was really fun. Oh and when we first walked in one of the boys said “that looks like grandma Ison” I said well kind of and she’s a missionary like Grandma Ison,  but anyways come to find out it’s the parents of the girl who hit the free-throw to beat us in the semi finals when I was a junior… sadly it probably shouldn’t take 22 years for me to realize if we’d gone to the same school we probably would have been best friends but since we didn’t she was the hated enemy. Ha. Well ya live and learn…eventually! But they were awesome and it was fun to chat-he reminded me of my dad-he remembers those games! They offered to give us a tour of the ranch even though it’s closed on Sundays. It was incredible!

Monday our little Riz man would’ve been 5 months old! Our sweet friends went and visited his grave because we couldn’t, we love the Pettit’s!! I teared up when this text came through!

The big group went tide pooling and Colt wanted to go (but only if a parent went with him he hadn’t quite warmed up to the Aunts yet) I didn’t want to drive any more so Isaac and colt went tide pooling about 2 hours away.

The other boys and I headed to the ranch to enjoy the day use option!
Ten bucks a car for more fun than we could squeeze in! The church is the best!

“Down time” was cousin fun time

Tanner…poor Tanner! The year we went Joes Valley Tanner he burnt his hand on the motorcycle and this year they were rolling pool balls back-and-forth in his pinky got the bad end of that deal. (That’s cherry pits not blood when Isaac was drilling on it 🤣 we got some blood but not that much! )

Tuesday we all made the trek into Seattle. We went to the Flight Museum by Uncle Aaron’s work

The teenagers were obviously super impressed-the only bad thing about this picture was I got their attention instead of getting the more accurate head down look. 😉

The Best part of the museum was the WWII section because Cannon loved it’s so much and he has tremendous influence on his bros right? So Colt started it but the best was Sethy running around but then diving on to the ground and yelling “it shot me down!” Hardly museum behavior-but it was hilarious!

Afterwards some people hit “the market” but not us and then we went to Ballard Locks which were actually super cool.

I told Isaac’s siblings all of them ought to have to be lost in Seattle with Isaac trying to avoid the tolls -yikes- We had google maps but we kept getting stuck in turn only lanes…and maybe I’m not much of a navigator. Oh well. Oh and the whole time we were in WA it was a major heat wave-like record highs! But I wasn’t scared of 108 cuz I’m a St George girl right? But for some reason Isaac turned off the window air conditioner in the little guest cottage we were staying in. Oh my goodness that place was a billion degrees when we got back from Seattle and it was the most miserable night ever-I never cooled off until I took a cold shower the next morning-I should’ve done it in the middle of the night!!
Wednesday we had a little cousin time at the ranch (and a nap to try to recover from the horrible night) and more ranch time.

(I’m totally going to buy a new/better slip and slide tarp for our yard after this!)

Everyone was leaving Thursday morning but we peeled out Wednesday night instead…it’s just how we survive drives!
We were going to stop in Farmington again and see the Meachams but Isaac (who barely drove any of the heart of the night this time) drove right by while the rest of us were asleep. Cannon was crushed and I wasn’t very happy but oh well we got over it. Sabrina says I’m raising adaptable kids-ha- not by choice!
But we stopped at Denny’s for breakfast-it was a big upgrade on McDs and the loved it!

And then it was back to Huntington.
Colt went on a walk with me up to the lake.

Tanner was telling me how delicious these crackers were. All the boys are loving free reign on grandmas cupboards —I mean she always lets them have whatever they want but I feel like I try to hold them back a little. This time though it’s “mom can I have ______” and I just say sure. Grandmas going to be gone for 18 months-we might as well eat it now!

Oh and of course we don’t breath with out worrying about or trying to fix something on that dumb pump truck. Typing that thought I really should watch my mouth Sethy told me today he wanted to play with my dumb phone (the trouble is he get the right tone of voice too 😳) whoops

Anyway…we did come south but it’s super late so that probably a good plan to wrap it up! I’m pretty tired. I drove the last 2 hours. And we rolled in about midnight…classic us.

Friday, June 25, 2021

We’ll somehow it’s Friday. I think we’ve had fun but currently we’re driving…again😩 and Isaac is being the tablet Nazi so…it’s miserable for everyone. Gee thanks.
Anyway…let’s see what the pictures hold. Oh Sunday I woke up with the sorest back, it to me forever to figure out why…and this pic was the culprit. We had another flat tire 2nd time in two days so we took it into Walmart cuz we have road hazard on them, then we were going to pic it up when we took Cann into his baseball teams little swim party-that all went great until we pulled into Walmart and it was flat to the ground again. So we had to buy new tires. And we had to run Isaac’s random errands with him while we waited for them to put the new ones on. The kids were crazy in the store so we stayed in the car for the next stop and Sethy wanted my hair…leaning back over the console is what did my back in.

Some new kicks for Father’s Day.

And we got caught in a wild

While we were mowing Monday we found the wild black raspberries we’re on

…but you only need to mow by them so many times.
Cann worked full counts and walked twice in his game but…he probably should’ve swig at this one. We did a little BP in the front yard but we probably ought to do some more. He is loving baseball though and I love that.

Ever since we made Colt a running shirt Seth has wanted one…so we put the old stained white one to use. Then just getting thing loaded up.

Oh and somehow we ended up with a neck injury,..he was eating mulberries off the ground while Cannon was pushing the other boys on the swing??? Anyway the rope tied to the swing got him…pretty rough.

We took off Tuesday night and made it to my cousins house Wednesday around noon. Oh we love the Meacham’s!!! It was so so so fun and good to see them. It reminded me a little bit of when they were in Memphis and we were in Mississippi-the boys just hit it off, then and now. It was a blast! Our little families match up pretty well! And Sarah has long been one of  my “oh I want to be a mom like her” people! She’s so great I love her!
So we played and played and it was a blast and Grama Nette came up and celebrated her birthday with us!! Yay!!!

The boys didn’t want to leave—look at that pool can ya blame them? But they begged to go back sometime…yeah-I think we should make that happen!
The plan was to then head to Boise then up to the family reunion in Washington but then Isaac had a pump job in Price so we headed for Huntington instead. Tanner said “it’s not fun here without grandma!” It’s definitely different. But we still got out the side by side and rode a little at the sewer ponds.

Today we hung out while the “real quick” pump job took all day. Ug. When he told me it was going to be a while we went to a park (no splash pad this year) and drove the side by side. Then the troops made their own concrete project “like dad”

I cleaned them up-kindof-once but he let them play in it again as we were loading up. So we’re traveling filthy. Oh well. And now we’re doing the all night thing again   Headed to the family reunion. Oh but Belle wouldn’t get in the carrier-no way no how! So we left her with some food and water and Cannon is an upset nervous wreck—but I really do think she’ll be fine. And Isaac called Jesse (just for Cannon) to see if he’d check on her. And I guess we are going to go back that way.
Oh and one more pic-these line the main drag in Huntington! I love them I think they are so pretty!

Oh and a funny thing Seth says right now is “kid patch, kid patch? Pwease, me peeing.” When he wants a sour patch kid for going pee. Maybe ya have to hear it but it’s pretty cute. But really 5 months later he still thinks he gets treats for peeing???? What the heck? But I do give in sometimes, not as often as he’d like though.
And on a not so cute note if anything doesn’t go his way it or the person is  “dumb” thanks older brothers 😏 I hate being “dumb mommy”
Oh well
