Saturday morning soccer fun!
Cann was my photographer.

I love that he snagged a pic of Addster

Then it was family work day.

Seth got to go to a friends birthday party, I took him while Addi was dads helper πŸ‘πŸ»

The boys were pretty pumped to show me this double rainbow!

I got this cute note in the mail this week. And Sethy got a positive office referral!

Tuesday I went to Cann’s game at Brookfield, and he got to be a captain! Look how small he is—yikes! Be careful man, you only get 1 body!! I didn’t take my camera because he had the later game but I wished I would have because we (the fans) were basically right on the sidelines!

And check it out—Grampa’s last day of work was today! (But really it was Wednesday because he used up his vacation days) We’re pretty excited for him!

We’re been the animal tenders again but the boys take turns-it wasn’t Tanners turn so he just decided to read in the shade, I thought it was pretty cute.

We got the pics from the primary activity-I’ll put them in the frames they made but really they’ll last longer here in the blog πŸ˜‰

And boy does this girl like helping her dad!!! But if he ever leaves without her—brace for a meltdown! Yikes!

And tonight we went to a friends birthday party, Isaac crushed it at this alligator game 😊🀣🀣

Last Saturday our sweet neighbor Carolyn text and  said Ron wasn’t doing well and we’d better go see him if we were going to. So we did—I love having a 12 year old, babysitter ✅✅
But mostly we just gave Carolyn a hug…and Ron passed away Monday. He was a good guy!! But tonight I’m just frustrated and kicking myself, I pulled up his obituary too see if there was a visitation tonight before the funeral tomorrow only the funeral was today! We missed it! I feel awful!
I’m frustrated with myself for not reading closer-we loved the obituary it was just such a cute tribute to him—just wish I would’ve read it closer.
Anyway Sunday I had a great birthday!
I mean, I spoiled myself as I’ve learned to do. My new shoes got here Sat…and there were a few packages that showed up here and there, a whatever sounds good and is easiest trip to the grocery store.

The kids drew pictures  oh and Cannon and Isaac made Breakfast—and cleaned up πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
That afternoon we made a yummy fruit pizza instead of a cake—we also took one over to my birthday buddy friend Salwa! It was fun to visit.

Then Monday we went out to lunch and I’ve wanted a new camera forever but Isaac just said “why don’t you just get a new phone with a fancy camera and try that? Then if you still want a camera we can get you one.”
At first I was like eh…I don’t want a fancy phone but…then I decided I like his logic, the camera I would use occasionally at most and I’ll use the phone every day. So sweet-I ordered a new phone. Annnnd an ipad while I was at it. 😁
It was a pretty dang good birthday!
Then Tuesday I went to lunch with my friend Cassie-so good for me-it’s just easy and fun and good to talk to her. Pretty sure we solved the worlds problems…or at least complained about a handful of ours. 😊
Cann played football Tuesday and they tied. He was a little disappointed but it was much more enjoyable to watch than the week before! (He got to play a lot but I didn't really get any in action pics)

I’ve been trying to exercise in the mornings-well actually I try to do a little studying then exs but when I could barely get out of bed then basically slept through my own scripture study πŸ€” I decided to punt on exercise and went back to bed! So later that day on a second attempt these two helpers and I rode over to the cemetery! Boy did I pay for that in allergies!!

But when this pic of my swollen eyes came up from three years ago, I was like oh yeah—these allergies are nothing! Thank heaven!!

Thurs the Pettit’s had us over for dinner and then Isaac told them about his mission, I missed the mission part because I went to a very poorly attended RS activity.  I would have like to hear about his mission-he doesn’t say much to us in normal conversation around here. Oh well. It was fun to see them and visit, we’re not near as close of friends since they switched to veganism and home school. I think in the future we’d pass on dinner (it was just spaghetti…but …I was proud of the kids for being mostly polite. Tanner did ask for butter for his bread I was like “sorry buddy they don’t have any”) but in the future I think we’d  just go hang out—you better believe we were scrambling to make some chicken fries that night! And they took forever to cook it was pretty late! Oh well. I don’t like how it makes me feel like such an unhealthy slob to be around such health nuts…I’ll wash those miserable thoughts down with a cookie made with terrible refined white sugar and a glass of milk…from a cow!! 🀣 Yikes! To each their own. But I can’t for the life of me figure out why section 49 is ignored while section 89 is taken to the extreme. 🀷‍♀️
New subject but I had to vent a little!!
Oh there is this hilarious Jerry Seinfeld clip about everything exists as some form of garbage.
Wait I’ll just put the link in…it starts at about 1:15 on this:
Anyway this all comes up because my thrifty self needed to buy sis some “new” clothes  so I bought a “lot” of a few things off eBay. Just having people mail their garbage to me🀣 but they came and (I always wash them first just in case) but after I’d washed then I let Seth pick what shirt…kinda fancy for just hanging around the house but she was so dang cute I had to take some pics! (Maybe I’ll even update my wall—she’s the only one that really needs it.)

Why not top off the outfit with Sethy’s Rubble crocs???
I think that’s about it. Isaac served in the temple today so he's zonked and I'm up way too late blogging...sounds about right.
Oh and Soccer tomorrow. I guess we had soccer last week--but I can't take pics when I'm coaching...maybe I'll put Cann on it. I only saw a few minutes of Colt's game but he seems to be having fun which I'm very happy about. And Tan did awesome-scored 2 goals! Our little team did great, I was pumped and went to practice Monday ready to work hard and get better...only their 7! So my plan for next weeks practice is fun and games fun and games fun and games! Wish me luck.

It’s 50/50 on the barracks-sometimes Seth sleeps in there-sometimes he doesn’t.
Let’s see, the week:
I picked Grampa up on Friday but Saturday we were scheduled for Nauvoo-we knew that ahead of time but decided not to try and re-arrange Grampa’s trip. Seth begged to stay home with Grampa (for weeks of anticipation) but since he is primary age and there was a primary activity, I wanted to wait and chat with Isaac about it. But we decided it would be fine. He’s a young enough primary kid that it was gonna be easier on those leaders if they had one less and it also would give him one on one time with Grampa, especially where he’s not really old enough for us to leave him for a couple days. The other boys are eagerly anticipating their turn to get to do what Cannon did this last summer. so we left Grampa a helper and headed for Nauvoo. As far as I could tell they had fun!

And it was great to go to the temple with so many of our Kirksville friends-and the other kids did have a great time at the activity. Win win.  Cannon helped tend Addi and we thought the youth were doing baptisms at 4:00 but really they were doing baptisms 3:00 so for the last half hour the primary leaders had their hands more than full with nursery age kids. And  poor Cannon looked in every parking lot but couldn’t find the van anywhere and his suit was in the back. So they ended up looking up his recommend (that was in the pocket of his suit) and having him just go in the temple in street clothes. He was horrified! (And I am glad) but I’m also glad that his leaders talked him into going assured him they were all going to change into whites soon after they got in there anyway, and it was just a learning experience for all of us. We really had parked in a parking lot we’ve never used before just because all the other parking was full and we talked about leaving his suit there with him at the stake center but decided there was any need for that if they weren’t doing baptisms until 4 o’clock. Whoops. He was walking in as we were walking out-so Isaac took his suit back in while I tried to relief the leaders.
It was a busy but good day.
We were hoping this girl would loosen up a little bit for Poppa…

But we didn’t have much luck…I mean with pop corn or Poppa treats we at least had a shot—kind of.

Grampa was all time quarter back. And Seth was wearing a life jacket for his pads…but I think he looks like a mini little Andy Reid out there🀣

Monday we worked on Rizzy’s tulip flower bed…I was sure the vols had eaten all of the bulbs since we planted 80+ last year and only got 7 tulips. But we found a lot…not 80 but  they didn’t ALL get eaten. I guess maybe it matters if they get planted upside down  after all πŸ™ƒ
And I want a good basketball hoop-and nice cement pad. But I just decided I was going to buy a cheap used one until I get it! So me’n Chip had us a little project before soccer practice! I was a little worried-I mean we collect junk right? I wasn’t sure I wanted more of someone else’s but I’m so glad I did it! I should’ve done it last year -or sooner. He’s already put up a ton of shots.

Oh and Grampa had to catch up on birthday spank’ns

About collecting junk…I had this ordered before we did the bunk bed thing in their room! But I wanted to get Colt a pull up bar (he’s so strong) for his birthday but Isaac just rigged one up in the basement. I didn’t like it—so I ordered what I wanted. And had it get here when Grampa could help me put it together…that room might be getting a little crowded…but we can move it later—it’s pretty fun.

And Tuesday night was Cannon’s football game. He’d busted my chops a little about having Grampa come for the Hannibal game but that’s just when it worked out but ….holy cow!!!! The snapped the ball the first time. Touchdown. We get it back-3 and out! Their next snap-touchdown (this time to Cannon’s side☹️) and the 3rd time they snapped the ball-same thing. It was that kinda night! Actually I took Cann to the high school game tonight and those 7th graders could probably hang with our varsity😳 which tells ya they are good and our varsity is not— it was ugly.
So having grampa come to watch soccer (didn’t start until this next Sat) and football was a bit of a bust. But we’re still glad he came and it was so fun to see him. Wednesday I took him back to the airport.
Now we’re back to the grind!
And this guys got teeth fall’n out!

But I think that’s about it!

Barracks

Pics
Stories pending—hopefully on the Nauvoo drive tomorrow 🀞🏻
Oh boy a friend in the ward sent me a text that said “We've got a job for cannon if hes interested in working after school. he'll need to walk thru the rows and clip weeds at the stalk base in between strawberries. $5 a row. Let me know if he wants to do that :) also if u have clippers for him to bring that would be very helpful!” So I encouraged him to do it-I thought it would be good for him to work for someone besides Isaac. Oh boy! It was miserable! Colt went too after about 3 hours (45 min Friday night  and 2 hours on Saturday) they had finished four rows so they made 10 bucks each. They hated it…and I didn’t totally blame them! (I worked with them Saturday and said “you bet” when they asked for Sonic afterward and Isaac doesn’t know this part but I actually bought clippers for them —I mean I thought they’d they be good to have for over at the cemetery and such but we certainly didn’t need 2 pair😏) Here they are finally at the end of what was probably 100 ft row

Cannon said it was slave labor but Isaac said “it’s not slave labor if you get paid” to which Cannon said “close enough”
Ha
Happy Labor Day weekend boys!
Isaac got his truck put back together and took it for a test drive…
Here he is .7 miles later
🀯🀯🀯
The coolest thing was he was going to jog home but  a guy picked him up first. He lives in Nebraska now but used to live in our house! Crazy huh? Small world. I’d just met his sister about 2 days before that-I see her around all the time, she’s one of Cannons teammate’s Grandma. So I always see her and it was kinda the smile and say hi thing but she stopped me in the grocery store and said “How do I know you?”  Anyway we figured it out-were neighbors-she lives on the corner on the way to Riz’s grave. And when she figured out where we live she told me her brother used to live there. Anyway so presumably Kenny her brother who picked Isaac up was probably visiting her!
But still-small world!
But Isaac chit chatted with Kenny for a while while his truck was dead in the middle of the road so by time he got to me (he should’ve invited him in!) but he was like “hurry we gotta go I need your help I should have told you to make sure and have your phone if I was going for a test drive” as you can imagine I was less than amused.
First I took him back to the truck with tools and starter fluid…didn’t work…so then we came back and got the truck and I got to tow him home.
I don’t know how to tow!
Let alone something that big-it was mostly downhill-I survived. I text my sister in law- just to try to blow off some steam. Oh and before I actually towed him I did make him try to call the neighbor-better Brad than me…but he was at work. So I did it.
But then we got to the driveway…and Cann got in on it too!
We had to make a train. My job was to make sure Cann was the fastest…but that skid steer was hopping around like crazy I was a nervous wreck…

But we survived it.
Do I say that every week? Maybe our life is like a broken record.
Actually that was weird to type-my kids have no clue what a record is.
But the other day Cann taught me that rizz is a new slang word. I didn’t get it but we looked it up in an urban dictionary -apparently it comes from the middle of the word charisma- and it just means to throw your charm on. So Cannon was telling me about one of his football buddies trying to get another one to “rizz’r up”
I don’t really like it-I’m like no way that’s your brother’s name!! …well kind of—nickname!
But I kinda got it the same way…take the R from his middle name throw it in front of Israel and you get Riz…
So fine. I’m sure Rizzy has good charm πŸ˜‰

Anyway back to our lame weekend…
Watering boots to church? Nope sorry girl!
Sunday night I wasn’t feel well and had some medicine on board and just needed to lay down—that put Isaac in charge of the Addster…and well…she’s done sleeping in our bed! It was pretty rough. She might not be done but he’s done. And it’s hard! I like her breathing right next to me (I mean I could do without being kicked) but snuggles?-you bet! It’s part of the joy of having her her!
But I know I should have made her stay in her own bed long ago…so I know he’s right but…
It’s rough.
We didn’t do anything fun Monday-but we did go by another bunk bed so Seth can sleep in the brothers room and they didn’t have school so that’s always fun.
Oh and wait I’m glad I snagged this pic-I love it when he makes them help! My cupboards look great!

I kinda hate it in there-it’s totally like the barracks! Hopefully eventually we end up with one bunk bed in each room. 🀷‍♀️

Random pics

I love it when these 3 play outside…they’re great to let  Addi come too. But then when I go out there always like “oh…uh…she was here…” silly kids.
We had to divide and conquer so Isaac went to football and I went to soccer but Cann’s team won and my friend sent me a movie❤️ I love him playing defense! He’s coming around on it. I’m like look man you can have way more impact and way more plays!

Every once in a while we do fun activities for CFM. This one we were talking about how Paul taught us to “watch ye and stand fast” (1st Corinthians 16:13) and it was way easier to stay in the circle if we could watch. πŸ˜‰

And Grampa is here!!!!

We stopped by liberty jail on our way from the airportπŸ‘πŸ»
And Seth has been eagerly anticipating this pillow fight for weeks!!
