I’m not quite sure how to pull off blogging while on the drive…Oh and Isaac is talking to me about engines…
Smile and nod? ✅ I’m clueless and perfectly content being clueless….if only he were content with me being clueless (sigh)
So with a little distraction I’m going to go for it.
We shoved a TON of fun into the last week…it’s all fairly well documented but if  I can get that transferred to the blog—that’s the question.
Saturday morning we went on a walk to the temple.

Cannon went shooting with Uncle Brent and had a great time. The rest of us went looking for some laser tag fun. They of course liked the arcade best 🙄 but we had a pretty fun laser tag game too. (Pics are terrible) It was Colt and Isaac against the rest of us.
That afternoon Isaac found some go cart fun! Colt was going to go too, maybe Tan, then we found out it was ages 14+
Whoops. Glad we figured it out before they went.
The younger kids enjoyed lots of screen time and hanging out with Shawn’s kids. Colt and I left Grandma tending for a bit and went shopping-he’s hilarious he just has an eye for anything green, anything!!! And that one on one time is pretty fun. We did end up buying him a soccer ball scripture case but that’s about it.
That night we met up at a park for a little pizza party.

Then I can’t remember but that might have been the night we just sat around at the AirBnB visiting-it was really fun!
Sunday we went to Levi and Stacy’s ward. Then just kindof hung out. Poor Grandma was feeling under the weather 👎🏻 Happy Mother's Day👎🏻 but we had fun visiting and Isaac was asking everyone where Mother's Day ranked on their favorite holiday list. I’ll plead the 5th but catch me in person and I just might tell you what I think. 😂
Isaac was gone taking his motorcycle to Nathan’s but the kids recited the Living Christ  for Grandma…we were rusty but she loved it anyway!
That night Isaac’s brother Bryan called. We chatted for a while and had a pretty good conversation. He told me he faithfully reads the blog. I kinda panicked right? Well if I’m 100% honest he told me a couple summers ago at a family reunion he read it, but I forgot so overall I kinda thought Crud-what have I  written????? I used to be really good at keeping the blog positive and keeping any rants to my personal journal but I’m lazy these days so who knows??? And then….on 2nd thought (shrug) it it’s what it is-read up! It’s the family journal. We were talking about record keeping for CFM this week and Isaac was like “eh mom does it for us” and I said I just want my side of the story to be the one remembered so really there’s and underlying selfish motive. Annnnnd I maintain-I can’t make this stuff up!
Monday all we did was pack up (why is that such a pain?)  then head south. But that’s a lie, that’s all I thought we were doing. We ended up stopping at meadow at the hot pots.
They loved it!

They wanted me to get in on it—so I did.
And note to self-packing a swim bag is good and we even packed every kid  two swimsuits but one of them needs to be IN the swim bag because having to dig into every single one of those bags was a pain.
It was fun-they loved the spontaneity and it broke up the drive but toward the end I was very aware we all smelled like a pond and we actually made the trip longer. Ugh!
But we made it to Grama and Grampa’s. We missed the family reunion that my cousins threw Easter weekend but when I told my mom I’d really love to see my Aunts and Uncles she said “oh I like to have them over a few times a year-we’ll do it when you’re here!” So she did and it was so fun! (Tons more work for her 😏 Happy Mother’s Day) but so fun!!!

Tuesday we headed up to Grampa’s Sandbox in the morning and went to the temple with the kids that afternoon.

Bri came over and tended the younger kids and Addi had the nails to prove it. 😊

Grampa’s helpers

Wednesday we made a Shoal Creek run, we had a great time and it left the kids longing for more. Perfect!

Thursday-the girls went shopping and the boys went back up to the feed yard. Overall we kept having fun but slowed down on pics 😉

Isaac got to go riding with his cousin Phillip in the morning and that afternoon we made a temple session. I woke Isaac up from a Power Nap at 3:21 and we were in the Chapel in the temple by 3:50! People who live close to a temple don’t know how good they have it!!! We saw my dad’s cousin Cindy as we were walking out-that was awesome! It was just good.
This morning all we did was load up. Isaac went to California the day we went to Shoal Creek and picked up his boat engine. My mom gave us a little chair and half thing—and a picnic table. So all of that is on our “van” trailer in true Jed Clampett fashion. (I should’ve taken a picture) when we finally hit the road we headed across town to buy a Facebook marketplace surfboard for the boat.
About to pull on the freeway Isaac said “I can’t see the strap for the chairs.” Oh wait I forgot those (and the bikes) on the trailer  list. My mom is done with the kid recliners-Seth wanted to scavenge them…and we have the trailer sooo… they didn’t fit, sorry buddy. But super dad figured it out and made it happen. And we strapped them on. But when he stopped right before the freeway they were both there but the  strap was gone!
Sooo he threw them on the inside and Tan got to ride clear to Cedar with the dumb thing on his lap. 🤣

We stopped at my Bros so the cousins could see each other and we could rearrange! Then Shad and Kennedy stopped by and Shad gave roping lessons! It was a huge hit! So fun!! And of course good to see them too!!

Oh and especially after we went to that mine last week these kids were super impressed with the mine machinery that Shad works on!!

Anyway —it’s a drive blog post
Take it with a grain of salt!
Hopefully I’ll edit it later!

Birthday’s and Madi’s wedding

Today our niece Madi got married! So we’re here in Utah and it’s been a fun day!
So basically a pic overload and it’s super late so maybe I’ll keep the explanations to a minimum for now and let the pics be “worth 1000 words”…
But I probably better keep things normal and start with last Saturday!
We froze watching Colt play soccer…so normal.

Cann’s birthday.
He wanted a fancy bat and batting gloves so basically he’s been playing with his birthday for weeks now—I feel like his real birthday was pretty anti climatic…but he got a few new shirts and a pretty yummy treat…good enough!

Oh and not sure why this interrupted the birthday pics but Teancum was missing for a few days. We prayed for him at family prayer and then Isaac said “I’m going to look for him” and found him stuck in the excavator! (He snuck in while the door was open-then got shut in.) He’d been there at least a couple days, it was a bad deal, but Addi was happy to have her kitty cat back and we always like to remember and record times we know our prayers are answered!

Seth was a “caught being good” winner so we had to go cash in on that free ice cream cone!!

Tan’s soccer got moved to Tuesday….I wish we always played on Tuesday! It would free up Saturday mornings and this time the weather was way better!
Colts music program and art show was Tuesday evening too—he did great!

As of Wednesday we officially have a “threenager”

A birthday lunch date with dad! And the restaurant even gave her red chips!

And that night we hit the road so Seth had to give me my Mother’s Day present early!

Even the big kids were glad we hit McDonalds with a play place!

That drive is rough! But we’re happy to be here!
Airbnb fun…

We are staying so close to the Jordan River temple…but it’s closed. Bummer.

This morning  Isaac fulfilled a long time dream of touring the copper mine. Of course we cut it close time wise with making the wedding 😳 Thankfully Grandma came with us and somehow I just think she helped us make it on time!
But it was cool. And massive!

We made it! And Eric saved the day and brought our kids later so they didn’t have to wait outside the WHOLE time.

It was neat though-we’re excited for Madi and Sam!

How?! How do they find equipment even at the temple? Isaac. It is the only possible answer. This stuff was in the underground parking lot.

Seth…or Tanner couldn’t quite figure out why Grandma who is a missionary could come but Jacob couldn’t. When I said the rules were a little more strict for young missionaries he just shook his head…must have been Tanner. But anyway we were happy to get a picture with cardboard Elder Ison!!

Madi is just such a fun person and Stacy definitely knows how to throw a party/reception. So it was a good time! We’re glad we could come!

Eventually I’ll get a movie made but until then…that’s probably the wrap on this week!
