Building building building

My Saturday soccer players!

On the first Saturday of October after soccer, we always have to bust a home for conference! We usually get home just in time for the first speaker— Sorry, songs๐Ÿ˜‰
Seth talked me into the fun bag thing… So we did that…lots of fake legos…they loved them.

Seth and Kamden have been wanting to hang out forever so her mom asked if we were going to the fall festival… I said sure— No way would I have went otherwise-normally I hate those stupid fundraisers!! Seth had a blast Addi not as much, she’s pretty timid in a setting like that.  She would only do something if Seth did it right before her. Oh well, we went for Seth and he had fun so we’ll call it a win
Then once again, we were busting a home this time for the evening session… Which, when that one ends early after five hours of conference or whatever it is —It’s just so nice. ๐Ÿ˜Š Even though the messages are great…I’m just ready to call it a day!
Moore conference Sunday and I made cinnamon rolls but no pic, well,  actually I did take pictures but none of them turned out. Oh well the kids did love them so that was a win, and then we shared some with our neighbors.

Then the rest of the week  I don’t know what happened It’s already Friday!

Really Monday Seth had soccer and Cannon had football, he loves it, I hate it! It’s so dumb. They were up by 20 points and he didn’t get in for a single play. when there’s two minutes left and you’re running the ball all the time anyways just let him play.  I was frustrated he was frustrated, I know I should be good and just listen, but sometimes I end up opening my big mouth and saying what I think-It is so many extra trips to town and stuff it’s ridiculous but I must’ve said something about that because Tuesday he was so nice. So nice I was like who is this kid? But can he stay?! He was just nice and appreciative and cooperative—I don’t know, but I know I liked it!

Tuesday I watched President Nelson‘s funeral. It was so good. It was like a bonus session of conference and I think President Oaks is going to be awesome. It was fun to see a little bit of his personality come through when he was speaking about President Nelson.

I ran Tanner’s soccer practice  that night so that his real coach could go watch his daughter play softball, I was happy to help…when I coach soccer I’m always faking it but…good enough.

It was feeling crazy busy Tuesday night until I realized I was mixing Tuesday and Wednesday together. Ha. I just thought how do we usually handle it with youth activities? Then I realized those weren’t until Wednesday. On Wed Cannons quorum went shooting which he was super excited about but they were racing the sun a little so he had to be there 45 minutes earlier than usual.

Oh and Isaac did his little health assessment thing at work and he was in the high risk range on a couple of things…so maybe I have no interest in becoming vegan but  I like him and I’d like to keep him around so maybe we should probably be a little more heart healthy!! (Tuesday I went easy on myself and fed them corn dogs and taters tots we had downstairs in the freezer and apparently what you eat in the last 48 hours matters on that health assessment thing…whoops!)

By time we get to Thursday we’re just so thankful we don’t have anything.

But we always have the building…not a normal little date? Hmm, boring people.

And he kept the kids working long enough I fired up the light tower (which means gross bugs)
But check it out!!!! Floyd and Martin came back today (which is why we’re out so late last night trying to get ready for them) but check it out!!! Ok it’s only one side but it looks like a building!!!
I thought they were going to do the roof but that’s the beauty of having someone that knows what they’re doing—I guess they gotta be able climb up there to do the peak on the back. There’s actually lots of beauties of those guys knowing what there doing. ๐Ÿ˜Š But it was pretty funny today—over time I’ve just kind of gotten used to helping Isaac-however whatever whenever etc oh wait speaking of Isaac—not these guys but the guys we bought the metal from wrote his name on it. “Icssic” I have never seen it spelled like that! thought that was pretty funny. Anyway back to me being the helper, Floyd said “yeah, if we just had a lady that could run the equipment” …I know I would’ve never guessed but…it really isn’t hard so I just get in and do it.
I really do love talking to those guys though-they are such good people. They don’t have/take pictures though (but they don’t mind if I take pictures of their good work๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป) so today I asked if they journal, they do. (So family search needs so much more…but that’s technology๐Ÿ˜) anyway Martin taught me about “circle letters” they write one and send it and there’s several addresses and then it circles around and when you get the one you wrote back you take it out of the pile and read all the others then you can write a new one. He said he saves his. Bingo-there’s your journal- but he said “it’s how we communicate”
Anyway. It was cool.

Seth was super sad to miss the homecoming parade but we had things to do!

That’s what we’ve been up to.

Great news Isaac got his October water ski trip in…so I’m hoping he got that out of his system.  ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Tonight we’ve been hanging with the Amish —shoot we were out of AC for about 2 weeks (and it was hot—thankfully Isaac finally got it fix Monday) but no AC, our ice maker isn’t working and the ice trays weren’t keeping up, so one day when Isaac hadn’t showered yet and…was smelling like it, he said “we’re basically Amish” oh brother.

Saturday morning Isaac was the soccer dad (all 3 soccer players played at 10:00) and I went to the stake women’s conference. I mostly went because I felt obligated…but it was really good I was glad I went! And I did not carpool (I hate carpooling) so that meant 2 hours one down and one back all by myself—yes please!!!

Anyway we’re getting to be pretty big fans of Bro Gannon’s volleyball team—so Saturday we loaded up (the horses wanted to come too—actually they were better about heading to the car than the kids) but we got there in time for starting lineups and Seth and Addi got volleyballs—which they love!

Seth has his good luck seat and they haven’t lost yet when he sits in it…๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️
Anyway.
Sunday—there’s  not much from our little world but how can I say “nothing really happened” when there was a shooting and fire at our church in Michigan! One of the med students that used to live here and his daughter were two of the people injured. Because the ward boundaries were different then we didn’t really know them. But when I ward members started posting things it made it made it feel pretty close. The strength of weak ties I guess but yikes, crazy stuff, our world-it’s awful!

Monday Seth and I had soccer but that was the extent of our afterschool to do list but I made tater tot casserole. (And it has green beans) the deal was Isaac would fight the battle getting the kids to eat…but he was fixing the AC so after I got back from soccer I was stuck with the battle. Ug. So the picture lightened it up but…we are in the dark so they couldn’t see the green beans. Ridiculous. But it worked. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป…well I still had to feed them bites ๐Ÿ™„ so it kindof worked.

Tuesday Isaac won a bike in a drawing! Sweet…there were only 2 names in๐Ÿคฃ he was at a community thing but it was held at the church but we had all gone in together-picking up Cannon was part of things…so we ended up with a full van plus a bike. ๐Ÿ˜ณ purposely not pictured.

And sometimes I just find things on my phone. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♀️

Wednesday Isaac had to switch around his office hours but Floyd came back and brought his buddy Martin—that means lots got done in the building!! Those Amish guys don’t even flinch about doing things all crazy Isaac style …

Isaac’s running the excavator and skid steer bucket “man lifts” (probably only because Cann was at school)

I had a great time talking to these guys about family history stuff.

Thursday we got that lake trip in! Isaac’s said all along he wanted to ski in October…then he told us it was his goal in St George to go water skiing in the morning and snow skiing in the afternoon. He didn’t tell us that he ever accomplished it but apparently this is nothing new. I told him it was my last trip (of the year) no matter what. He figured he and Colt might have another one in them.

But then we hit another stupid log. Not sure if you can see it but the actuator that lifts the wedge is broken…
So he tied it up!
While Tanner read… (I just thought it was a funny pic)

And of course he got that ski run in!

Photo credit Colt (I would’ve gone for a little zoom but somebody had to drive the boat)
The air was about 85° the water was about 81° so not bad but after the circus…and because I was great with giving my legs a break I just sat this one out.
Cannon just got a ride home from football so he missed this one.

And tonight -as mentioned we went to the Hillside metals customer appreciation dinner. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the stuffed roasted pig they had—it was impressive. Dinner was pretty dang good. And they had a nail pounding contest…

Isaac-he makes everything more fun…but sometimes it’s kinof embarrassing. They’d been doing the drawing for prizes stuff for 15 min when he got there (he went to pick up some stuff he’d bought for the building) anyway he gets back they draw the winner comes up and he starts hollering and celebrating…like I said he makes everything more fun. They didn’t know what to think of him/us. We stuck out like a sore thumb! Mostly Amish-maybe a few mennonites and then the drivers …but we had a good time.
Now Cann and I are just up way too late watching BYU play.
Bout it.

These pics are out of order but I’m done fighting it so it is what it is—do you think I’ll ever learn to not blog late Friday night??? Doubtful. My plan was defiiitely to do it earlier but…plans…ha!
This pic is from Saturday night! We were out late working on the building and the kids just wanted to play hide’s seek…but they ended up having a blast with shadow puppets waiting for us.
Working on the building.
Saturday morning soccer—we got soaked! It was pretty miserable (Sethy with the goal kick—it’s a U8 thing)

And he decided he didn’t like how crooked this post was…so he unbolted it and we tried to move it with the skid steer…I don’t know if it worked or not! Then Cann had to run the excavator so he would mess with things from the bucket. So…normal for us. I think these pics were Monday-it was a prof development day so the kids didn’t have school.

Addi and I got to work Tuesday once everyone else was gone. I needed to mop my floor but once we got things moved I figured we might as well scrub the walls too.  And once it was cleaned up—that seemed like a good time to try out a different table situation, I’ve been wanting to go with a long skinny and a bench for a long time so this is just a folding table (and bench) but I think I like it-like how it fits-

When we really go for it I think we’ll probably go for 2 benches but whatever it was a start, a little something I’ve wanted to adjust for a while!
Oh and we basically took over the dentist office Tuesday morning. First time for Add!
Cann strained his calf at Young men’s…so thing he’s got Colt to help him rub it out!
We’ve been jumping! I think a ton! These two think not quite enough.

And  today…I’m so excited to finally get this picture!!!
Best news on the building! He hired an Amish guy to help him for the day! Best money he’s spent on it so far!!! They got a ton done! I tried to help a little too just so they could get more done while we were paying him. I was kindof the helper grabbing boards and what not.  (So can I blame that on why I didn’t blog?) I think so!) but this guy was worth every penny just to have his brain! He’s done it! Isaac tried to bounce things off me-useless! But he can bounce things off Floyd and he tell him yes you can do that or no usually you’d do this instead and this is why…lifesaver! So much more efficient! So much less of me wanting to rip my hair out.
I’m sold on paying for help…I hope Isaac is too. And Floyd is a super nice guy to chat with too.
Anyway power naps were required but we did hit both the Truman volleyball and HS football games tonight. Seth found himself a little good luck seat at volleyball. And by time we got to football Kirksville was running away with it. So it was a good fun busy night.
And a productive day-couldn’t ask for much better than that!

Friday, September 19, 2025

We’re back to soccer Saturdays! I didn’t get a picture of Tan but maybe tomorrow—unless we get rained out…which I might be fine with…Seth saw the pic of him and said “it looks like I’m tripping over the ball”

Oh…I thought he was just controlling it. He is enjoying it though so that’s good.
Sunday they were all piling on the horses. I guess that’s why we have them.

Monday I tried to knock down some of the ginormous weeds and tall grass and then cemetery  with the tractor and Addi tagged along, she  brought the Paw Patrol with her! She did great.

She says some pretty funny things these days. She’s always  giving me the hand signals and saying “keep coming” with the cart at the grocery store. Then she’ll turn her had into the stop signal and say “that’s good” somehow I feel like I’m driving the skid steer ๐Ÿ˜‰
She had a sub and school Tuesday and the sub ended up with the hiccups so Addi told her “you should try hot sauce” ๐Ÿ˜‚ not sure where she got that idea. But the sub made sure to tell me about it and how fun Addi was in class. It seems like there was one other thing I was going to try to remember to write down but I but I’m drawing a blank so I guess that’s a fail! But she’s pretty fun and funny these days. Oh how we love the Addster!
I got this from Colts gate teacher-they have to program a robot to stay in those lines or something. Colt’s been telling me all about it but…maybe if I listened better I could explain it ๐Ÿ™ƒ
Wednesday we got Cann’s braces on. Poor guy-they’re a mouthful! But he’s doing pretty good…I guess. I’m really surprised I didn’t take a picture. After school Isaac did pick up ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ (I hate it so bad) & I went with my birthday buddy Salwa (who teaches) and our friend Naomi to McDonalds for a McFlurry. The ice cream was ok but the getting to visit was awesome! When I got home they had bought me flowers (which I didn’t even take a picture of ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป‍♀️ but that just made these guys want to pick me flowers. So Isaac took them to do it. Seth took some to his teacher too. He’s a sweetheart. And weed flowers -how sweet ๐Ÿ˜‚

Soccer got rained out and Isaac was going to take care of dinner until we decided I’d just make mashed potatoes so Cann could eat. But I’d goofed off with my friends all afternoon and we still had children and youth activities but I was out of time. Things got a little crazy. And our AC until might need the motor (or something) replaced. I don’t know but Isaac gets pretty locked in when he’s in fix it mode trying to figure stuff out. So the crazy night also included him being here-but not here at all, oh well, we survived.
Today we planted a few daffodils…I bought more tulips but I want to decide what I’m going to do the deer before I even put them in the ground.

And look at that concentration!
And today I went to lunch with my friend I minister to then her husband coaches volleyball at Truman so we went to his game. (I think he needs a leader on the court but that’s just my take) they’re hosting a little tournament so tonight Seth and Addi and I went back and watched another game before we went over to the football game.
Late night though!
I might need to reevaluate when I blog cuz it’s dang late again. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ and I’m pretty tired!

Until next time!
