Well, I’ve been missing our Colt buddy like crazy but he’s been having fun (although he misses us too)

He went to the aquarium with Grandma Ison on Saturday—they both loved it.

We set up the jump house here. And a friend’s daughter wanted to see some horses so she brought her out. It was disastrous!  Randy almost kindof not really stepped but scraped his hoof down her leg. So thankful it wasn’t worse but it was awful enough and the mom and I were just chatting and not close enough and ugh -it makes me sick just typing it so hopefully lesson learned.

That night Isaac took the kids  fishing.  Everyone (except Addi who whined the whole time) was able to reel something in but Tanners the only one that actually got one to the shore. I guess they need a net! ๐Ÿ˜‚ and considering temperaments I’m just glad it was Tanner! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The fishing picked up as the sun went down do they were super late.  Oh well they were having fun. Thankfully we don’t have early church.

I don’t know what we did Sunday but Colt got to go to Jacob’s homecoming and Grama Nette picked him up after. Monday he went to check the water with Grandpa.

I don’t know what we did…well Isaac’s been working with the Amish guys on concrete-he had court again for that stupid coyote ticket-hopefully the next time it will actually be resolved! But that’s not until Sept. 1๐Ÿ˜ฉ but that night we headed to the lake. There’s a lot of stupid arguments these days—thankfully I can’t remember what but Cannon did not want go to the lake with us.  So he stayed.

These guys were trying to splash each other while Tanner surfed.

Tanner got up in the wakeboard his very first time!

Isaac was just showing off ๐Ÿ˜‰ At least on my phone the picture is tiny, but I like that he’s always smiling! And I was driving so I’m not sure which kid was the photographer but good job either Tanner or Seth.

Down 2 kids even I tried

And I got up the first time too, Isaac said all my struggles before were probably that other board, he said it was bad, maybe he was just being nice. But but I wrecked hard…twice,  and remembered why I just stick to skiing. Ugh! Straight on is just better for me! But it was a fun lake trip!

Tuesday was a busy day!

Happy 48 years to Grama and Grampa!

Isaac was working with a knuckle boom truck in the concrete forms and the kids had a primary activity that started at nine. They were all still dead asleep at 8:40 from the late night before but oh well we got them up and we got there and they had fun.

I took Cannon to the driving range while they were at their activity

Then, in the afternoon, we met Seth’s friend Kamden at the aquatic center just Seth and Addi and I, but Addi finally braved the little slide!

And that night, I had a relief society activity, I always try to go and support those and sometimes it’s just my little getaway, but we played disc golf and who’s actually pretty fun!

Tuesday and Wednesday we ended up helping with a little service project to pick up some grass clippings. We just brought them home and piled them in the yard and the horses went to town but then Isaac googled it and that’s not good for horses so then we had to push them out of their area. I don’t know what we’re gonna do with them probably Burnham. The kids were good helpers. Some of them were more reluctant good helpers than others.๐Ÿ˜‰ Seth genuinely loved it!

Wednesday we also fed the missionaries.

Grampa forgot to document dressing up like a cow and going to the Chick-fil-A free dinner thing and shooting up to Shoal Creek But Grama got pictures of their little cooking project and the pre-cow pics

Yesterday Isaac worked out in the heat all day then had high council mtgs in Moberly (thankfully they carpooled) but he was late getting home and I barely had the kids in bed. Because we made a an evening beach run.

But he was so zonked by time we were “reading” (snoring๐Ÿ˜ดthrough) scriptures.

These kids have been awesome! But we have missed the heck out of Colton! Tanner says sometimes it’s hard being the older brother ๐Ÿ˜‚ but he’s been a trooper about playing with Seth and Addi.

We're headed to the lake now (don’t tell Colt I told him he’d only miss one lake trip) but I think that’s about it.

Grandma Ison was here!!!

We had a really fun week! We picked Grandma Ison up from the train station Saturday morning.

And we started our Grama fun by taking her to the Mecca of Mennonite stores,  Dutchman’s!  So that was fun.

If you’re Isaac, what do you do when your mom comes to town… That’s right you keep working on your projects. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ well gee-welcome Grandma ๐Ÿ˜

But he’d bought a new controller (or something) for his knuckleboom and it got here from Poland Friday (along with some $3000 chocolates ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฎ just kidding but it was nice of them to throw them in,  they were disgusting) anyway he was excited about it.

That night we went and watched the fireworks with some friends, and that was fun, Cannon went to a friend’s house. The other kids had a blast lighting up a few small Fireworks and Grandma was just having so much fun watching them, she went and bought them more! The perks of having grandma in town!

Cannon had been doing a ton of things with his friends last week but when Luke invited him over he wanted to go again and Isaac was awesome about being like “no you better check with your mom because she thinks you’ve been gone a ton lately” so Cannon did check with me and he really needs to just figure out that when you’re kind and respectful (which he totally was) it goes a long way with me!! And he gets more of what he wants…so anyway he went to Luke’s house and I went and picked him up after our firework fun. I asked if he wanted to drive home which he did… So he could make sure and try to find another firework shop that was open. It was 1130. I didn’t think there was any chance, but he proved me wrong and I confess, after watching the kids have so much fun with the few that I had bought and the few more that grandma had bought I bought a couple more too.

So they shot fireworks off Sunday night too.

(And Sunday we went on a little walk)

Monday I took Cannon to the eye doctor and finally heard back from Amtrak so I was going to buy Colton and Tanner a ticket to ride back with Grandma But they only had one available seat so since Colton was older, (his last year of being 1/2 price) he got it! I’m excited for him to have someone one-on-one time with grandma Ison and then with my parents too. Tan would’ve gone but really didn’t seem too sad to miss out either so… I guess I picked the right kid for the one seat! Having Colt go and some of the things going on at church kind of changed our travel plans for later this summer, but that’s OK. We only make plans to change them. I’m still adjusting to that but I think it’s mostly true. We’ll just go out a little sooner to pick him up!

Monday night we went to the lake! Isaac was sure his mom could surf,  but I told her she did not have to try if she did not want to. He’s so good at talking people into things that sometimes I just think they need to know it’s OK to tell him no but she loved watching the kids do stuff and taking pictures. It’s just what us moms do.

Cann watching me ski—Addi and I watching Cann jump!

Tuesday we headed for Nauvoo!  Cannon had weights in the morning so we left after that, I was so excited to see the new visitor center. It was awesome and Grandma was more than happy to tend  while we were in the temple, but she didn’t get to go to the temple, which I was kind of sad about,  she was not sad though cause she’s always in the temple working or being a patron at Manti but still I just thought it would’ve been a more fun Nauvoo  trip if we would’ve planned and scheduled better but it’s really only open for half a day right now. I don’t know if that’s because the pageants going on or what but oh well.  Isaac and I got to go do sealings  and the boys a baptisms—it was a great day to be in the house of the Lord!

Ice cream at the creamery after the temple is always a good idea!

Wednesday we did nothing! Absolutely nothing! Isaac had accounting meetings for work and we just weren’t  very ambitious,  but  also no stress. I feel like Isaac‘s mom is genuinely happy just doing whatever, being here, around the grandkids. She and I get along great,  we can just chitchat and visit and I don’t know in some ways. I think she and I are quite a bit alike, good job Isaac, marrying someone like your mom -ha- but she’s a great example to us so we’re just thankful she came!!! —even if we’re not very good entertainment.

Then Thursday, we tried to make up for it. not really but because Isaac’s plan for Wednesday was he was going to get the horses  shod (well the one that’s so tenderfoot anyway and then go for a horseback ride with his mom, but that didn’t work out Until Wednesday evening, so Thursday morning, he saddled up the horses and somehow (so I could take pics) He even talked to me into going on a little ride with him, but then I had to be back to be able to go get Cannon from weights so they brought me back

I have so many pictures on my phone and then  I got all Grandma’s from her too and we’re both pretty picture happy but I think the one of she and I are riding is on Isaac’s phone so maybe I’ll get it from him later —maybe—

They went for a little bit more of a ride after I took off. And after the horseback riding, we grabbed some breakfast and then we headed back to the lake —We never go in the daytime so maybe we forget how sunburned you get, Poor Grandms got toasted, but I don’t know, Maybe it’ll be tanned  up by time I post this blog ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

Everybody had pretty red faces, and I just never even worry about things where we go in the evening. Cannon loved being there in the day though —oh and both the trips where we went with Grandma I actually got to ski!! -just a little bit both times— it’s  taking me a little bit to remember I didn’t exactly pop right up ๐Ÿ˜ฌ  It took three times the first day and two times the second day, but at least I got up! The water is typically a little nicer in the evenings for skiing too๐Ÿ˜‰ And both trips with Grandma Seth has done so awesome surfing! He even started to pull in on  the rope Thursday!!! And not to be outdone Add got up on her knees (puppy surfing they call it) on her own too!

But I felt like we just shoved a ton of fun into the time we had Thursday that we came home got showered up, packed up, Colt  and Grandma some train food and Isaac ran them up to the train station when they got about a half hour away I was thinking about how excited I was for Colton to get to go to Jacob‘s homecoming thing and I realized we forgot to pack church clothes. ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป‍♀️ I had time to jump in the car and run them to him, but I didn’t want them to like have to wait for me. I didn’t want them  to be nervous cause that would’ve put it pretty close to when the train was supposed to be there. (It wasn’t, it was late, but still) And I didn’t wanna have to drive the whole way up there cause it’s about an hour and 20 minutes away and so I just kind of panicked and then ordered a couple things off Amazon and they should’ve got to Levi and Stacy’s by today, so I text her and said “sorry stuff coming to your house I hope it fits” and she said  “No worries and we have neighbors and he can borrow whatever he needs.” ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

So whoops but it should all work out fine!

Grandmas been awesome about keeping me updated! In fact they should be getting pretty close now…

Today Cannon’s  been helping Isaac with concrete forms (I know he finally sold the concrete forms and now he’s got some other he’s borrowing… And might buy) But they’re messing with that then they ran to Moberly to pick up his golf clubs that he bought off Facebook marketplace because when he was hanging out at Luke’s, he decided he needs to take up golf…Who knows!

And younger kids and I have been playing board games (cooperative ones ONLY) ha

It turned to summer on us! It’s nasty hot and humid!

We went to the lake with the Page’s  on Monday. We went with our family Thursday, Wednesday I took the kids to a splash pad and while I was visiting with a friend there my throat started hurting. By Thursday I definitely felt sick but I had a little nap and pushed through I didn’t want to be the one who ruined the family fun. But by today…ug!!! I’m hoping a little …or a lot of rest will get me back on track. We pick up Grandma Ison off the train tomorrow and we need to have a fun week!

So the pics…

We rode bikes down at the church Saturday but decided to ride over to the park. The wading pool was all filled up but we were unprepared so maybe another time-we settled for the play ground

Sunday afternoon riding their saddles.
Seth’s been riding the four wheeler around the yard, he loves it!
Tanner (thinks) he loves old stuff and projects, so they dug out the old Suzuki. It’s almost 50 years old.

Tanner’s finding out projects don’t go smoothly and…he might not have the temperament for it (ok he for sure doesn’t but the sooner he figures that out the better!)
Seth has a favorite passenger.

Our kids kinda hate it when we invite friends to the lake because then they don’t get to go so we went a little early to get our kids some turns before the Page’s came. It kindof worked…they’re still a lot of just sitting on the boat when two big families go.

Tyler (aka Bro Page he’s one of the seminary teachers and Cann likes him so we’re so thankful for him!) anyway Tyler was surging with his son Cole and Cann decided to toss him some popcorn to try to catch—the picture might not do it justice but it was pretty fun.

Addi and Seth both like helping drive right now.

Thursday Cann opted for hanging out with his buddies at the Farwell’s and so I had to drive the boat! I definitely missed him. It is so stressful to me-then the kids (especially Tan) feel that stress and I’m over it as soon as I’m done driving but I ruined the whole lake trip for Tann and he just wanted to come home ☹️ I gotta be better for my kids ๐Ÿ˜ซ
Annnd can Cannon just come with us? I’m listening to a book right now about all the woes of kids being peer oriented.

But I jumped ahead I still have a pic from the splash pad Wednesday and library day at the aquatic center Thursday morning.

Not to mention the eventual success with the Suzuki! After a little towing.

They all ended up riding it!

Cannon gives way too much of his time (and now money too he bought himself a shirt) to this stupid YouTube channel called CBoys, but I think he looks like one of the cboys on it (it also seems like something they would do)

Now Thursdays lake pics!

They were playing Head Shoulders Knees and Toes and Rock Paper Scissors! It was fun.

Seth has upgraded from lay boarding to kneeling and now sitting!

He  totally got up surfing!!! But no pic cuz I was driving and he didn’t like it because of how wobbly the board felt so he didn’t stay up long. He had actually told me “I’m gonna get up, I’m gonna stay as long as I want and then I’m just gonna let go” And  that’s exactly what he did.

Cannon‘s been wanting Isaac to lift him up in the knuckleboom truck since we got it so they did that…

Then I also took a picture of Isaac’s creative way of cleaning off the boat cover. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And it’s so hot we decided we better get Rizzy’s flowers some water.

But that’s about it.
