It’s been a busy week—but they all are.
We cleaned the church Saturday morning and had the Williams kids over Saturday evening.
Above is a picture of Isaac whittling a stick to roast marshmallows with...but that’s not a pocket knife he’s using ONE OF MY PAIRING KNIVES. And he thinks it’s fine and that it won’t make it dull. Fact: It’s already dull, but is there any question why? Next fact: I deal with things I deem ridiculous (that would otherwise cause a significant amount of stress in our marriage) by taking pictures and posting them here on the blog-and telling my side of the story, certain that you, the reader would be siding with me. Right??? Is it crazy to whittle sticks with kitchen knives, or is it just me? Can’t be!
Oh wait one more little fact, remember Grama is here, BEFORE this incident she had bought us a couple new kitchen knives because there “wasn’t a sharp one” in the house. At least it wasn’t one of the new ones.
Anyway...

We bought those dang things and the very next day there was a HUGE hawk perched up on the barn, between that and Belle being a bird dog we’ll see if we can keep them alive??
Sunday was regular plus we got to go to Quincy’s baptism. Monday we had the Tilton kids over. They played outside ALL day-it was awesome! And picked so many mulberry’s we had to make a mulberry pie...ok we made a cool whip/cream cheese pie and put a little mulberry juice in and called it good. It was a hit-they ate it and the thought they made “mulberry pie” good enough for me.
Monday night Cannon had his last baseball game. It was fun to watch him play! And we are thankful for Coach Joe.

We needed to get our van-still in STL so Tuesday we made a day out of it and headed for Six Flags! It was hot but SO FUN. We should have taken swimsuits for the water park but—next time! And my new favorite ride is still tidal wave. There were no lines so Cannon and I just rode it around and around! It was fun. The worst part was my soaking feet in my shoes the rest of the day!! The boys had a blast! Tanner wants to climb on all the kiddie rides with his brothers but the reality of it usually sets in shortly after and he yells “stop” he’ll get there though! He loved the swings.

We had a good time, after picking up the van and all we didn’t get out of town until almost 8 but that did t stop Isaac from stopping at buying guinea fowl on the way home!! (We are not normal and that’s all there is to it.) So far -3 days- they’ve kept them alive. Supposedly they are awesome at eating ticks. The boys LOVE them and are in heaven. So much for “no more animals or moms moving out” the called my bluff but it’s a slippery slope and I want nothing to do being any more farmy than we already are!

Wednesday we had a 4th of July pancake breakfast down at the church with both wards! It was a great turnout and...if felt like it was Saturday ever since!
We don’t get too carried away on fireworks but I did make sure the boys at least had a sparkler! Tanner has long since been asleep. We could see a fair amount of fireworks all around us too, that was pretty cool.
In the house world Grama is doing awesome at organizing and we’re puttering away at a few projects. We hung a couple cupboards in the laundry room (hall) Isaac put the bead board up in the dining room.

And after at least 3 purchases and returns we finally have a mirrior in our house!!!

Ok there is technically one upstairs but we don’t go up there. Maybe more now since Grama had Isaac put in some window ac units-but before it was a sauna!

We’ve had to shut the water off in a panick a few times too but that’s just the life of DIYs I guess.
Of course we still have the best little helpers
And I’m not real committed but we have played around a little with potty training this week. Here’s Tann modeling his paw patrol undies-really he’s showing me one of the pups. We’ve had minimal success, it would probably go better if I were more committed. When screen time is the bribe everyone gets in on it...ha
I think that’s pretty much it.
It is looking better around here because Grama is such a tidy’r it’s great!
