Saturday is Cannon's day to play with his dad and boy does he look forward to it. He has to eat (torture) but then he picks the activity, they usually have lots of options. They went looking for equipment this last week and found a train! That was running but waiting for another train to pass so they ended up inside talking to the conductor and engineer, it was cool.

"ALL ABOARD" Cannon asked me what that meant later that night. Colton Grama and I ventured to the little fruit market but that's about it. OH WAIT, no its not. Maybe it was Thursday-maybe it was Friday but regardless the stupid AC quit working. UG, so miserable and that's 2 for 2 of it quitting on my mom's trips to Mississippi. Anyway this time they decided our whole condensing unit was shot (kind of wished they would have realized that last time) but anyway they couldn't get a new one here until Tuesday (which turned out to be Wed) because of the Holiday, so LONG HOT weekend, NO AC. They did bring a little portable one and put it in the window-it helped but still, no AC.
Colton's poor tummy is just struggling, he gulps down so much air, then doesn't burp. Anyway-after he puked all over me Sat night I got him settled, got me all showered and some more food in him and such by that time Cann Man was in our room (Very Common) and he coughed and coughed and coughed in my ear, no sleep, so I said "If I go get you some medicine will you take it?" He said he would. LIAR! I got it in him, and gave him Milk to wash it down. It was clear in him and a swallow of milk to chase it and he was so mad that I gave him medicine he made himself puke (which unfortunately he's pretty good at) but its like he makes himself do it the first time but then its involuntary and he pukes and pukes and pukes uncontrollably...and he's in our bed, and I've already been puked all over once this night. Oh goodness, just typing it I'm exhausted all over again. Isaac bathed him, alls well that ends well I guess, 5 batches of laundry later, but it was just one of those deals where I sigh and think people really have more than 2 kids? WOW! 2 might do me in! Sunday we made it to church but left Colton home with Grama. The only real surprise there was when they announced that seminary was going to get started this week (school started for the H.S. kids 2 or 3 weeks ago) and that Brother Ison had volunteered to be the interim teacher! Are we surprised? Not really, and he'll be good at it and fun for the kids I just worry because he has SO MUCH on his plate. He does have a little insider info being in the bishopric and knowing that they have someone they have or will shortly issue a call to and that kind of thing but anyway Bro Ison-seminary teacher for at least a week or so. Those lucky kids :) He's gone by 5:45 if not before and on the long sleepless nights if I'm lucky enough to be asleep I just don't get to see him. He also ended up doing a little service project on someone's roof, it was supposed to rain Monday so that's why they went ahead and did it Sunday but Isaac took his number 1 helper with him back there Monday but spread some tar on something...I don't know what was going on, I just know #1 helper got stung by a wasp :( poor little guy. When they finally got home his was still whining/crying to his dad "I don't want to be tough" His dad is definitely more fun than boring old mom, but there are some inherent risks with dad too! With Monday being Labor day, Cannon was watching Daniel Tiger on PBS Kid and they were calling it "Neighbor" Day and singing songs encouraging the kids to do something nice for their neighbor so Grama and Cannon got some goodies and made cards and took treats to our neighbors for "Neighbor" day. Cute. Fun.

Monday night I also go this text from Chip.
It was so cute! Mississippi has been good to us/for us. We have GREAT friends here, but living so far from family is still hard on me...and as you can see-them too. Isaac's is so free and easy its been a learning process for him too, just to try and understand how I feel and why when he just doesn't. Anyway in the end, I did buy tickets and we're going to sneak back to Utah, then back. When we leave its hard hard on Isaac but he's also very supportive of me doing whatever I need/want to do. So-I'm going for it and grateful that he is supportive. Its 10 long lonely days for him (and Blake and Annie aren't here anymore either :( -oh and before I foget Cannon asks for Ayla daily, then says he wants to go to Missouri when I tell him that's where she lives now) anyway... Leaving Isaac here is hard on me-cuz I know how hard it is on him, but... I still do it...So I have some guilt with that-but-anyway, on with the week, there's a lot to write!
Monday night Cannon was still fever-y and just not himself. The cough only really shows up at night but I decided since I had an appointment for Colton on Wed that I would call and see if I could just get Cannon checked out too while we were there. So Tuesday morning I called the pediatrician, they said they'd call back so when they called back and I was re-describing his symptoms and I told them that besides the nagging fever and nagging cough he had a nagging stiff neck that was 3 or 4 days old and didn't seem to be going away. They told me to take him to the E.R. WHAT??? That seemed a little dramatic just because the Dr. was booked. So I called Isaac to get his opinion and he kind of said "well, theres probably a reason" I dont know exactly what he said but he agreed that it was dramatic but still thought maybe we should. In the mean time my mom googled his symptoms--apparently stiff neck/fever combo is a symptom of meningitis. YIKES. So, reluctantly...we went to the E.R. They ruled out meningitis-so it was worth it, they did a strep test that was also negative. I'm thankful that its just an infection (and some dehydration) but have mercy, Cannon and I both could definitely live without EVER going to the E.R. again. He was miserable and just kept begging to be "All done." and "Go Home." Broke my heart!! I wanted to leave so bad too. We were there 5 stink'n hours. (Found out when we took Colton in if we would have been way better off to go to the Children's hospital E.R. than just the one that is close to our house, but live and learn, and hope/pray we never have to go again.) But they talked about observing him overnight--I didn't refuse, just made it clear we didn't want that option if there was any way we could avoid it. We ended up with a prescription for an antibiotic-kind of what I thought we'd get at the Dr. if he'd needed it but-better safe than sorry so we'll take it. It was just a long miserable process! They drew blood twice and did an IV and gave him some fluids, oh I feel bad for him all over again just thinking about it.

Wed when I did take Colton no way was I going to torture Cannon with being in an office like that again, so I sent him and Grama to the park by the Dr. office and I just took Colt Buddy. He's healthy and doing good, he'd gained 1 lb 1oz (so he's not puking everything up) and grown and inch and a half (yeah right, probably just a more accurate measurement, my mom was sure they "shorted" him in the hospital) Cannon and Grama couldn't find the ducks at the park (He told her the ducks were "at Ayla's house") so they just went and found some equipment. He was doing so much better after just 2 doses of amoxicillin-love that stuff. By time Thursday rolled around we had AC and were just so happy to have an I uneventful day, ok, I ended up the sick one that night but I think maybe it had a lot to do with no sleep-is there such thing as a no sleep fever? I vote yes. Cannon wakes up for huge chunks of the night (2-2.5 hours) just happy as can be, wants to play...I'm so happy he's feeling better but I could use a fraction of his new found energy! Friday, today, about that uneventful day-I'll take it!! Oh yeah and last Friday Grama tended and Isaac and I snuck out on a little date, that was fun. She tended while I went to the dentist this morning and Cannon about did her in, so I don't know if we'll talk her into it again :) just kidding I'm sure we will! I did tell her this week "I like being spoiled!" and its true, I do, and she's definitely been spoiling us!
We got a new cousin on the Frei side today, Klint's daughter Alaina was born and we'll get to see her when we sneak back.
The phone pics:
Love it when my guys sleep like this (hate that stupid heart burp rag) and don't be turning me into DCFS cuz he's asleep on his tummy in these first two!
Cannon loves to hold Colton but then always wants me to take a picture, (I've brainwashed him) I was deleting the horrible ones but then thought: wait, we need documentation of that too, I'd already deleted the worst ones :(
I think that's it for the week.
Oh wait last week I put a pic and movie of Cannon playing baseball on, I forgot to mention we've got a little primadonna on our hands, he loves to stop at the big mirror and check himself out, it cracks me up!
NOW, I think that's really it for the week.
~Sigh~
