Nothing too exciting this week, unless you count a couple trips to the dentist (but actually I went to the dental school where a resident dentist worked on my teeth because that's where Henry's dad used to work, but anyway I loved it, I was the guys only patient right then and he was so overly concerned with doing a good job it was a good experience) or if you count our house in Ivins flooding. Not the kind of excitement we were looking for--my brother and our great neighbors have been helping us with that mess. Both times I have heard Isaac on the phone with them it made me long for that little corner of the earth again, what a great spot!
As for more positive excitement yesterday (Thursday) Grampa and Uncle Ky got here. Late though, Cann was asleep so he and Grama are headed to the hotel to get them as I blog :) We have enjoyed the week, but there is a looming reality that next week won't be the same :( Cannon told Grama in his -very perfected- whiney voice "I don't want you go Utah!" And instead of telling him Not to whine I thought oh buddy we're all going to be in sad shape come Monday. But it's been great, I don't want to short side or under-appreciate all of the good just because it has to wrap up and 1600 miles is once again real :( and so is the pit in my stomach. I'm so glad a gal in my ward had a baby and her mom came for a month because that's what made me ask my mom if she could do that (back in Feb when I told her I was pregnant) and of course she made it happen. Thanks Grama!
One fun thing from the week, I have 2 early risers (and neither one of them is Isaac) but the boys were just up and Cannon was just chatt'n away "dat my brudder, I yove'im yots, he tum from heaven, dat so awesome, I yove'im an mom yove'im an dad yove'im an he yove me..." It was just on and on in the happiest little 2 year old 5:00am voice. I had to write it down -and tried my best for the way he says things because it was just so cute and I don't want to forget it.
This week I also let Cannon tear into a cupcake that was 3 parts frosting 1 part cupcake, he's just not a big treat guy (his dad isn't either) so I didn't think much of it but he LOVED that cream cheese frosting and went to town and I learned that Cannon on sugar=DISASTER! He was out of control, wild man/maniac, I've heard of kids being sugared up but now I've experienced it. Yikes!
The phone pic this week Cann took of himself :) and anything else I'll have to add later. New computer for here at the house is moving up the priority list quickly :)
...so thats it, until I add to this...
Colton is 5 weeks old--time is flying!

Yummy?

"It's too Yummy."
When Cannon was having to take medicine we kept telling him "Its Yummy, its Yummy" So then one of the times he puked it up he just shook his head afterward and said "Its too Yummy." The other morning, I have no idea why, but his breakfast didn't stay down. When I asked him why he puked he said "Its too Yummy."

Forgot I had started the weekly blog when I abandoned it and went with the phone approach. But here's this little cowboy ready to help Poppa before he even gets dressed.
Besides things being "to yummy" he's been into singing "Oh my Darl'n" to Sugar Dog--it's hilarious!

Sept 21

When Dad doesn't wear him out on a Saturday-grampa does! Thanks for all the fun adventures Poppa Chip!

Saturday Cannon played with Grampa and we went to the Rodeo, we had great seats! It was fun, they had motocross afterward but Cannon was out, of course he was back awake about 1/2 way to the car and begged to see the motorcycles but...maybe next time.
Monday I got to the temple in the morning that was good. Nate and Mel and kids came down that night and it was a Blast! Cannon had so much fun with his cousins! And Ethan won my mom right over, she's ready to bring him to Mississippi on a visit.

Tuesday I took the boys to see the temple (Sometimes we sing "I love to see the St. George Temple" and I snapped a few pics to update the quiet book. We went to the Ranch so Cann could ride Monty. He was super brave and rode all by himself! Huge improvement :) it was such a fun birthday for me, 32, yikes how did that happen?

It was pretty windy so Colt Buddy had to hang out in the ranch house the whole time. I loved this picture because his hair ALWAYS looks like that, plus he's hang'n out in his favorite spot-in Mamaw's arms.
Wednesday we visited the Allred's
Playing Dinosaurs at the Allred's
Thursday was kind of wind down pack up get a few last drives in on the tractors stop by Poppa Greats and so on.
We'd considered going to Mark and Gingers Thursday night but just want to squeeze all the fun in at Grama and Grampa's that we can so we didn't and just got up at 3:00 Friday-on the road by 3:30 for our early flight. We sky capped our luggage and got all checked in through security and all that nine yards got to our gate...and found out our flight had been delayed until 4pm (which turned out to be closer to 5) UG! So the positives are that we ended up getting to see Aunt Jayne for a few minutes so she got to meet Colton, and we did get to see Ginger for a few hours (even if we did just show up unannounced on her porch at 6 am after she hadn't got to bed until two) the day was long though-and stressful i.e., what I thought was PLENTY of diapers had me a little nervous before we ever got out of Vegas. But we made it, and Isaac was up waiting for us when we got in at 3 and the house was SPOTLESS. Oh I love that! He is the BEST! Saturday Cann caught up on playing with his dad and We all tried to catch up on naps:) today church was good but I'll tell you what - the primary program is stressful. Thankfully my mom is here to be on 100% Colton detail while I worry about primary stuff.

Friday post?

Our trip was a BLAST!!! Our travels not so much... With flight delays and such we will have put in a 24 hour day before we get home. So the weekly update will be a little late!! Ug

Pics-blurry or not-here they come!

I know I posted 2 like this last week but I just can't get enough of these two!
The Bribe last weekend was if Cannon ate his dinner he could go on a "Date" WITH mom and dad. SO FUN! We caught the last 2 innings of the Braves playoff game. And my guys even scored a broken bat...the may have had to tell a little white lie to get it, but Isaac said "I was so convincing I think I really was cheering for him." The bat came from a player on the opposing team.
( I need to get the camera out once in a while instead of just the phone)

Check'n on brother!
For a Sunday evening project they glued the bat back together...its a little big but still fun.
And boy do I love these boys!
We're having a BLAST in Utah but I sure miss that one on the left. More than other trips home.
Make'n it work as we traipse through the airport. (Bad weather in Vegas made it a LONG trip, we did the holding pattern thing then had to land in Phoenix and get more fuel) But we made it.
Cousin Time. Cannon loves "HIS Ann" Elsie loves Baby Colton its just cute and fun (and Chaos) when they get together

Getting to meet Poppa Great! And Grama Cottam!
I love this! I was so lucky to have all 4 of my grandparents until I was 27. I knew them all well and had/have a pretty close relationship with all of them so its really special to me that they get to meet and know my kids. And they love'm too. I very much enjoy watching it brighten their day when we stop by. I remember my vaguely my Great Grandma Frei, and Great Grandma Stevens and I knew my Great Grandma Ingledue well, I doubt that that is realistic for my boys but I'll take the brightened days, EVERY single one we can get :)
Colton and Alaina (Klint says we can call her Ali-I like that)
I think Grampa loves playing with the Grandkids as much as they love playing with him...well maybe not quite, but almost!
3 weeks old!!~so big so fast!

Cannon read scriptures with us one of the nights last weekend and he picked right up on the "it came to pass..." line. It was hilarious as he "read" that part. Then he just remembers it and spouts it off later in the week, funny kid.
And an hour and a half -whenever I can get it- feels like a full nights sleep these days, and I'll take it! Gratefully!!!
Lots of pics (really this is only a fraction of them) but not that much to write.
Wish we got to have so much fun without our dad being so far away but...
All in all, A good week :)

What a week!

Saturday is Cannon's day to play with his dad and boy does he look forward to it. He has to eat (torture) but then he picks the activity, they usually have lots of options. They went looking for equipment this last week and found a train! That was running but waiting for another train to pass so they ended up inside talking to the conductor and engineer, it was cool.
"ALL ABOARD" Cannon asked me what that meant later that night. Colton Grama and I ventured to the little fruit market but that's about it. OH WAIT, no its not. Maybe it was Thursday-maybe it was Friday but regardless the stupid AC quit working. UG, so miserable and that's 2 for 2 of it quitting on my mom's trips to Mississippi. Anyway this time they decided our whole condensing unit was shot (kind of wished they would have realized that last time) but anyway they couldn't get a new one here until Tuesday (which turned out to be Wed) because of the Holiday, so LONG HOT weekend, NO AC. They did bring a little portable one and put it in the window-it helped but still, no AC.
Colton's poor tummy is just struggling, he gulps down so much air, then doesn't burp. Anyway-after he puked all over me Sat night I got him settled, got me all showered and some more food in him and such by that time Cann Man was in our room (Very Common) and he coughed and coughed and coughed in my ear, no sleep, so I said "If I go get you some medicine will you take it?" He said he would. LIAR! I got it in him, and gave him Milk to wash it down. It was clear in him and a swallow of milk to chase it and he was so mad that I gave him medicine he made himself puke (which unfortunately he's pretty good at) but its like he makes himself do it the first time but then its involuntary and he pukes and pukes and pukes uncontrollably...and he's in our bed, and I've already been puked all over once this night. Oh goodness, just typing it I'm exhausted all over again. Isaac bathed him, alls well that ends well I guess, 5 batches of laundry later, but it was just one of those deals where I sigh and think people really have more than 2 kids? WOW! 2 might do me in! Sunday we made it to church but left Colton home with Grama. The only real surprise there was when they announced that seminary was going to get started this week (school started for the H.S. kids 2 or 3 weeks ago) and that Brother Ison had volunteered to be the interim teacher! Are we surprised? Not really, and he'll be good at it and fun for the kids I just worry because he has SO MUCH on his plate. He does have a little insider info being in the bishopric and knowing that they have someone they have or will shortly issue a call to and that kind of thing but anyway Bro Ison-seminary teacher for at least a week or so. Those lucky kids :) He's gone by 5:45 if not before and on the long sleepless nights if I'm lucky enough to be asleep I just don't get to see him. He also ended up doing a little service project on someone's roof, it was supposed to rain Monday so that's why they went ahead and did it Sunday but Isaac took his number 1 helper with him back there Monday but spread some tar on something...I don't know what was going on, I just know #1 helper got stung by a wasp :( poor little guy. When they finally got home his was still whining/crying to his dad "I don't want to be tough" His dad is definitely more fun than boring old mom, but there are some inherent risks with dad too! With Monday being Labor day, Cannon was watching Daniel Tiger on PBS Kid and they were calling it "Neighbor" Day and singing songs encouraging the kids to do something nice for their neighbor so Grama and Cannon got some goodies and made cards and took treats to our neighbors for "Neighbor" day. Cute. Fun.

Monday night I also go this text from Chip.
It was so cute! Mississippi has been good to us/for us. We have GREAT friends here, but living so far from family is still hard on me...and as you can see-them too. Isaac's is so free and easy its been a learning process for him too, just to try and understand how I feel and why when he just doesn't. Anyway in the end, I did buy tickets and we're going to sneak back to Utah, then back. When we leave its hard hard on Isaac but he's also very supportive of me doing whatever I need/want to do. So-I'm going for it and grateful that he is supportive. Its 10 long lonely days for him (and Blake and Annie aren't here anymore either :( -oh and before I foget Cannon asks for Ayla daily, then says he wants to go to Missouri when I tell him that's where she lives now) anyway... Leaving Isaac here is hard on me-cuz I know how hard it is on him, but... I still do it...So I have some guilt with that-but-anyway, on with the week, there's a lot to write!
Monday night Cannon was still fever-y and just not himself. The cough only really shows up at night but I decided since I had an appointment for Colton on Wed that I would call and see if I could just get Cannon checked out too while we were there. So Tuesday morning I called the pediatrician, they said they'd call back so when they called back and I was re-describing his symptoms and I told them that besides the nagging fever and nagging cough he had a nagging stiff neck that was 3 or 4 days old and didn't seem to be going away. They told me to take him to the E.R. WHAT??? That seemed a little dramatic just because the Dr. was booked. So I called Isaac to get his opinion and he kind of said "well, theres probably a reason" I dont know exactly what he said but he agreed that it was dramatic but still thought maybe we should. In the mean time my mom googled his symptoms--apparently stiff neck/fever combo is a symptom of meningitis. YIKES. So, reluctantly...we went to the E.R. They ruled out meningitis-so it was worth it, they did a strep test that was also negative. I'm thankful that its just an infection (and some dehydration) but have mercy, Cannon and I both could definitely live without EVER going to the E.R. again. He was miserable and just kept begging to be "All done." and "Go Home." Broke my heart!! I wanted to leave so bad too. We were there 5 stink'n hours. (Found out when we took Colton in if we would have been way better off to go to the Children's hospital E.R. than just the one that is close to our house, but live and learn, and hope/pray we never have to go again.)  But they talked about observing him overnight--I didn't refuse, just made it clear we didn't want that option if there was any way we could avoid it. We ended up with a prescription for an antibiotic-kind of what I thought we'd get at the Dr. if he'd needed it but-better safe than sorry so we'll take it. It was just a long miserable process! They drew blood twice and did an IV and gave him some fluids,  oh I  feel bad for him all over again just thinking about it.
Wed when I did take Colton no way was I going to torture Cannon with being in an office like that again, so I sent him and Grama to the park by the Dr. office and I just took Colt Buddy. He's healthy and doing good, he'd gained 1 lb 1oz (so he's not puking everything up) and grown and inch and a half (yeah right, probably just a more accurate measurement, my mom was sure they "shorted" him in the hospital)  Cannon and Grama couldn't find the ducks at the park (He told her the ducks were "at Ayla's house") so they just went and found some equipment. He was doing so much better after just 2 doses of amoxicillin-love that stuff. By time Thursday rolled around we had AC and were just so happy to have an I uneventful day, ok, I ended up the sick one that night but I think maybe it had a lot to do with no sleep-is there such thing as a no sleep fever? I vote yes. Cannon wakes up for huge chunks of the night (2-2.5 hours) just happy as can be, wants to play...I'm so happy he's feeling better but I could use a fraction of his new found energy! Friday, today, about that uneventful day-I'll take it!! Oh yeah and last Friday Grama tended and Isaac and I snuck out on a little date, that was fun. She tended while I went to the dentist this morning and Cannon about did her in, so I don't know if we'll talk her into it again :) just kidding I'm sure we will!  I did tell her this week "I like being spoiled!" and its true, I do, and she's definitely been spoiling us!
We got a new cousin on the Frei side today, Klint's daughter Alaina was born and we'll get to see her when we sneak back.
The phone pics:
Love it when my guys sleep like this (hate that stupid heart burp rag) and don't be turning me into DCFS cuz he's asleep on his tummy in these first two!
Cannon loves to hold Colton but then always wants me to take a picture, (I've brainwashed him) I was deleting the horrible ones but then thought: wait, we need documentation of that too, I'd already deleted the worst ones :(
I think that's it for the week.
Oh wait last week I put a pic and movie of Cannon playing baseball on, I forgot to mention we've got a little primadonna on our hands, he loves to stop at the big mirror and check himself out, it cracks me up!
NOW, I think that's really it for the week.
~Sigh~
