We wore him out with our family day Monday and he couldn't even lay down before falling asleep.
There goes another week...and January's almost over. Monday Isaac didn't have school so we went up by the reservoir thinking we were going to go of a little hike on the multi-use trail. But it turned out pretty lame so we ended up feeding the geese some animal crackers and then calling it good. It was a little to chilly to get to carried away. We put a little goodies bag together for Uncle Shawn for family home evening and had the Sisters take it with them to Transfers on Tuesday. Now he's serving in Texarkana-so...who knows if we'll get to see him before he goes home. Tuesday we got our Mississippi license plates or "tags" as they call them here. But we still haven't put them on. It has been nicer weather so we've been able to get out a little bit, that's good for both Bubba and my sanity. He just still loves reading books its amazing to me what he remembers, its so cute when he chimes in -or tries to- on certain pages because he knows what they say, or points out something we've seen in the pictures. And it turns out I do that old trick of licking my finger before I turn a page-I had no idea until I saw him imitating me (but slurping on his whole hand then reaching up to the corner of the page) Its hilarious. He still loves singing songs and is joining in more and more on those too, oh and learning new ones at nursery. I love nursery for A: the peace for me at church and B: his excitement anytime we are going to clean anything up, he sings "Dean Ut Dean Ut" But I hate nursery for that stink'n "MINE" word. UG, it comes so easy to him and I haven't had any luck discouraging it yet. Oh well. He's also been  into "set, go" then racing any and everywhere or just racing his horses.  I wrote about the "uh huh" thing not long ago and that continues to evolve and change its so funny. He's not content with me drawing him a basketball when we color any more it has to have a "bas-key-hoop" with it too, and he quick to point out both balls and hoops on any of my old basketball t-shirts. He's also very into Helicopters right now and says that word a lot but I usually don't recognize it until he starts saying "womp womp womp womp" faster and faster for the noise they make. Grandpa Ison taught him that :) Our days are fun, sometimes I don't think we get much done but we sing a lot and read a lot and I'm just thankful to spend the day with my favorite little boy.
Isaac sold his motorcycle this week-and Cannon got a little toy one

Rain Rain Go away!
Really today is a beautiful day but its the first one since we've been back. Yesterday we woke up to snow. I think that is completely unacceptable unless we are in Northern or Eastern Utah. I've seen enough rain to last me a lifetime. Excluding the time I lived in Hawaii, I've probably seen as much rain in the last 2 weeks as I'd previously scene in my life time. In my own little desert rat opinion, it just needs to stop! Enough's enough. Really besides being sick and tired of the rain...the week has been pretty uneventful-we've all been a little sick...and subsequently tired so bla bla there ya have it, bad weather and us under the weather- but hopefully on the mend.
Cann Man in his jama's with a tie on-because if  Dad puts one on-Cannon puts one on!

**Important Apology**
According to the "blogger stats" there were only 2 views on my blog last week after I initially posted. So sorry to my first two viewers- I used a slang term, then later thought 'Is that how you spell that?' So I typed it into trusty old Google, which pulled up definitions: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I promptly deleted it, I'm glad I didn't know what it meant. I'm thankful that I'm naive, and I'm totally sorry if you are one of the ones that read it on my blog. I'll try to be more careful in the future. YIKES, its an awful world out there!

I'm going to have to find my camera and post pictures later, but I wanted to get my Friday post in. I'm currently hiding from Cann Man in the bedroom but listening to him ask his dad "Mom? Mom? Mom?" Its pretty cute.
Right when we walked in the door he yelled "Basketball" He was pretty happy to be back to his hoop-even though we did rig up a makeshift one at grampa's. We are back in the swing of things and Cannon is into everything!!!  He just had so much space to roam and explore while we were back in Utah. But its back to the old routine here. Running to the window when we here airplanes, check'n himself out in the bi-fold mirrors that hide our washer and dryer, and showing me that he's a little taller and can reach a little farther up on the counter and into the drawers. He's also been into this "Uh-huh" thing to confirm we've accurately translated what he was trying to communicate, its pretty cute the "huh" part is really high pitched. I didn't know where it came from but I just thought it was cute then I was watching Curious George with him (thank goodness for youtube) and he definitely picked it up there. So I don't know-it might have sucked some of the cuteness of it out for me. Oh well. He's said "Ut-uhh" for No for a long time (...I'm afraid he might get that from me. I heard myself say it to Isaac one day...) but the No version was never very cute. I will say its nice being able to communicate back and for-whether it comes from the little monkey or not.
He asks for the cows and we tell him they are back in Utah but we are in Mississippi. Then he repeats "Miss-iss-ee" and promptly asks or Ayla. He was just laying on our bed one of the first couple days and started singing "Santa....Town" Sorry buddy-Santa's not coming to down again until December. If your not careful the little guy will wear ya out! But he sure is fun. He's had a runny nose and when he needs it wiped he sticks it in the air and does this funny thing with his lips and says "uh, nose, uh nose, uh nose."

We've been on the apt hunt. But finally decided we're staying at this place just transferring apts ASAP. The 1 bedroom is doing me in but the hunt...was going to do me in faster. After we looked at this tiny (but two bedroom) totally dysfunctional, yucky apt that didn't smell like smoke-it smelled like that nasty covered up smoke smell (Isaac has been sick and his nose was totally plugged up he couldn't smell anything) but it was super cheap-and close to a park. When I said "There is no where in that place for our kitchen table" and he said "Ya...we'd have to go card table or something..." I might have kept it together-sort of- on the outside but I BLEW EVERY FREAK'N GASKET on the inside. And you can guess how long I contained myself outwardly. Not Long. Beast-o-wife came out. I was so raging angry. Ultimately though Isaac wasn't saying he wanted to live there and it was just a miscommunication and really its fine and all is well-hallelujah!
Isaac went to his first Bishopric meeting Wed and when he didn't get home until almost 11, I thought...welcome to being a church widow. Cannon was hilarious, when his dad put a tie on he had to have a tie. I do love both my boys. I better call it good. Cannon did quit asking for me for a while but he's back at it so I guess I better go help Isaac fight the battle, I know I love getting help :)

The Pics (and explanations)
Sat morning we caught an early morning temple session with Isaac's parents, then grabbed some breakfast. That afternoon we headed out over Utah hill to where they were fixing water lines for a picnic lunch. Isaac's mom came with us too.  Umm... Chip and Grampa totally couldn't be bothered with our picnic while they were working on a project. Oh well. Cannon fell in one of the puddles of ice cold water in about 2 seconds. I didn't have any extra pant for him but he still wanted to play so bad. Grandma Ison had scissors and my mom had an old D.I. bound sweatshirt so with a little Grama magic Cannon ended up with some make-shift Pants. (see bottom right pics)

Cousins and the Airport

Back in Mississippi. We went to the Mississippi Sports hall of fame. Then Isaac made us a Green Smoothie . We were trying to be healthy. It looks awful but was pretty tasty, I just had to close my eyes. Or think of St. Patrick's Day

Is is possible that time actually goes by faster when we're in Utah? It sure feels like it.
More Cows
More Dogs
More fun
More play'n with Ann
More coloring
New Years, Our Anniversary, we visited with Coy and Georgette and Loxie, and Cannon got to play with Zi. We watched the girls play basketball again. We met Duke, the Allred's new dog, we went to Sand Hollow (indoor swimming pool) as a family.
Just a normal fun week at home.
Cannon's into the funny wide stance when he's getting ready to catch.

Sand Hollow
One day this week while Cannon was sitting at my moms enthralled in a "Curious George" movie and I thought to myself "So this is why people have T.V." It was great.

Merry Christmas

The Pictures (no collages this week...oh well):
Everytime Cannon gets in the car (in Santa Clara) he says "Tows, Tows, Tows" (Cows) He LOVES helping feed.

We attempted gingerbread houses with Ann...

Pop "Sicles" with Grampa!

Sneaking into Grampa's computer...this kid loves technology!

Cannon was helping Sharley carry decorations out from church...and maybe the biggest reason this picture had to go on was the Red Mountain in the background!

Christmas Morning! Santa found us!

The journal.
I need to write about this last SATURDAY. Cann Man would not go to bed, so finally I just laid him in his crib at my mom house hoping he'd give up and trying to keep myself from getting frustrated. Isaac was in the bedroom laying down faking like he was asleep. So I text him and said basically are we making any progress (with Cann falling asleep) well he heard his phone but ignored the text and a few others thinking it was just a friend texting him and taking this faking sleep thing pretty seriously, the good news is we were making progress. Well I'll give you 2 guesses what faking sleep turned into... and then my dad came home and Cannon heard him and well one of my boys ended up asleep and it was the wrong one. So I just got Cannon out of bed, shortly after my mom came home, and Cannon was hilarious playing with Grama. They had a pillow fight and he kept saying "I fight" "I fight" it was so funny. It was late and he was SO TIRED he was laughing so hard he could hardly breath then he'd make this funny noise as he sucked in air. Oh it was great. Then all of the sudden he got tired of that and started riding the legs of the ironing board like a horse and making all of his horse noises. This kid is SO FUNNY. I was cracking up. Of course we woke Isaac up laughing but he just stayed laying in bed and the good news is we really did tire Cannon out. So I finally got him to sleep, Victory!!! Then the next thing I know Isaac is on the phone... at 11 o'clock at night, I may or may not have been a little annoyed because I'd text him and no response-asleep, or so I thought- anyway he went out to the garage so he wouldn't wake anyone up but then he came back in still talking on the phone but very quiet. So heard him and headed that way mostly to see what the heck was going on then he held out the phone and said "Its President Boone, can you talk to him?" So what happened was not only my text got ignored but so did one from our stake president in Mississippi, (and one or 2 from the friend) Anyway he text back then called back (cuz it was even later there) but Isaac has a new calling, he's going to be the 2nd Counselor in the Bishopric. Wow huh? Its pretty wild reflecting on the past few months and how Heavenly Fathers hand has guided us to this point. When I posted, a while back about things getting better in Mississippi I had definitely felt like that was where we were needed, which as HUGE progress for us because ... well if you read the blog-you get it.  But there are a whole chain of events and important conversations -even as recent as last Monday- that we have had that have led us to or prepared us for this point. Its wild but I feel really good about it. Oh and it was also really cool that we'd been to the temple Sat. morning. Anyway, I had to write it down.

Christmas was good-see the pictures post :)
Cannon says "Oh shoot" all the time... I guess that means I do too.
He says "Santa" and "Ho Hoooo" We had so much fun.

Whenever we drive by a church he says "Bum-ple" "Bum-ple"  which is how he says "Temple" he started doing it in Mississippi but here we drive by SO MANY more (LDS) churches. He can says "Temp-le" when he's just heard it and he got a cool book about temples from Grandma Ison usually we just try to explain that its a church but both are Heavenly Fathers houses. He can kind of says "Church"

I watched my kids play basketball this weekend but I don't feel like a coach anymore. I think that's a good thing since I'm not, but I just feel more like a parent. I hope they know I care about them.

What a week! SO FUN. We headed to SLC and went to the Christmas Concert at he conference center. Very Cool. Isaac's younger brother works there so he hooked us up with tickets. The music was awesome especially the bells and the guy who sang Tenor was awesome to. Then Tom Brokaw told the story of the "Candy Bomber" Hal Halverson in WWII. Then as they introduced him (now 92 years old) they "bombed" the conference center with parachutes and little pieces of candy and that part of the show was totally Bryan's doing. It was really really cool.
He wasn't really up for a photo shoot with the parachute :(

Levi and Staci tended for us but we stayed with Grama and Grampa Kenworthy, Cannon sure loves Dolly Dog but she's not so sure about him. We went to church at Isaac's Aunt Marjorie's ward then headed for Huntington. One of my favorite things was when we sat down at Grama Ison's kitchen table Sunday night and Isaac started humming or singing or something "there's no place like home for the holidays" it was great, he so adventurous that sometimes I think he doesn't even miss home (as opposed to me) anyway it was really fun to have him so happy to be home. And we had a blast.
Let the projects with dad begin...
At first it was just screwing screws into a board then they decided they could turn it into an airplane. Then "How a Sponge works" experiment. (and the bottom corner pic is just Cann riding Grandma Kenworthy's exercise equipment.

Grandma Ison loves having the toys out for the kids to play with and she just kept bringing more and more fun stuff. Then we went made some cookies and took down to the Parrish crew when we went to visit Buck. We always have so much fun there.
Originally we were going to go back to St. George Tuesday but then Buck had a lion hunt lined up for Wed. Isaac was SO excited. It turned out really great to because Tuesday it snowed ALL DAY. It was so pretty! And SO FUN.

I wish the bottom pictures were on top on the above collage but I couldn't figure out how to do it so oh well.  Anyway...see the bottom left pic up Isaac pulling Cann up the "little hill" I tried to remind him that our son is only 1 1/2 but to no avail. The top pics in the above collage are how it turned out and little wonder that Cannon was clingy to me the rest of the time. He wasn't about to get back on that sled unless I was holding him (next collage top left pic) and even then he wasn't real sure.
There was snow on the ground in Salt Lake too so  it was like we just got this great taste of winter on our trip north. We  had such a good time.
Here's a quick movie of the snow in SL
