Oh man, they've switched up the blog'n tools on me, we'll see how I do. As a general rule, change and I are not best friends.

Last Friday we met at the park by our house with the cousins and walked up to feed the goats. It was pretty fun.
Here's what I got as far as goat noise movies, the one he turned to look at me, then the next time he was on to my tricks and not about to turn for the camera.

We took the goats down to Burton's to eat off a nanny that's babies needed weened anyway, it works when there are enough human's around (I stay out of this one) to MAKE it work. Cann and I still took bottles down a few times a day but it worked out, its only a 4 or 5 block walk or we go when we're on our way somewhere and it really is a lot better place to have goats! Then all the sudden they were back-we had 3 not 2 at our house but  now once again-they're back at Burton's. Who knows.

Goats Goats Goats we do a lot of goat stuff around here-part of the problem is I'm really much to soft to be an animal person. When Cannon sees a bottle he makes his goat noise...he even got a turn feeding them, then Sunday he tried to feed Chip's dogs a bottle...the poor kid's confused.
Anyway we also hit the park a couple of times with Lilah this week. I think the kids had fun, I know Nichole and I did!
I threw batting practice for the softball kids. I feel bad for them, they are terrible and lose all of the time so I was just trying to help,  HOLY COW was I sore!!! It was good to get out and throw a little bit, I think I'll do it again this week.
Friday got a little-or a lot-scary. Grampa Frei (my grandpa, not my dad) was burning weeds and such and driving his four wheeler on a bank when the bank gave way, the four wheeler rolled and pinned him. Luckily my brother was there, it's quite a story but the good news is he's home (checked himself out of the hospital and among other things told the nurse "if she didn't take that S.o.B'n thing out of his arm [he] was going to do it himself" classic grampa.) The hospital was actually an awful experience Plus no food, no sleep, and no T.V. yikes, that's the recipe for disaster without the wreck or hospital. I think everyone (family, him, the nurses too) is pretty glad he's home. We got to check in on him Sunday afternoon and he's seemed pretty darn good all things considered. He and Bubba even ate push ups together :)
Saturday we got the first swim of the season in, Cann wasn't sold at first -top pics- but ended up deciding it was pretty fun -bottom pics-

Cann's been patt'n my back when I give him hugs, oh I love that. Still not walking but getting better and better at standing and balancing, and more and more effective with that silly knee walking thing he does. I'm sure there's more but I'll have to add it in when I think of it.

Just helping dad make popcorn.
And taking the goats for a walk...as if that's normal...they stayed right by us though :)

Easter Goats

So sometimes I think I document things on the blog so I won't forget them, foolishly thinking that someday when things are 'normal' I'll look back on this and laugh. I'm afraid I'm going to have to come to grips with the fact this is our version of normal -and keep documenting of course-I can still look back and laugh.

Friday we went and watched Trey play baseball it was pretty fun, we'd looked forward to it all week. It was a little windy but other than that it was perfect. Cannon was outside, found a ball, and Trey's grandparents even had their dog there, he was in heaven! Friday night Isaac called me to come see his Bee's. I went down there and he caught this Bee (below) as was all ready to sting me with it. (I know it looks tiny the pic is through the car window-door locked- but in real life it looked super gross and insect-y with its moving little legs and stinger, Yuck)
Ya see, a bee sting is going to be the cure for my sore shoulder...its not that sore! It was disgusting, and Mr. Thoughtful was all disappointed he didn't get to sting me with one of his Bee's. "I thought that's why you came down here." he said, oh brother! Saturday-deep breath-might have been an uneventful day for us. Hallelujah. Cannon got in on giving dad a hair cut, and helping dad work on things. He loves helping. He also got to ride the horse with Grampa while Isaac was messing around with the plasma cutter and I was at basketball. Then we helped get ready for the Easter Picnic. That night I stayed up way late because I was determined to at least have a couple of quiet book pages done for Cannon. Seriously I've been "working" on this project since January. I left the eyelets in his room though and he was asleep I thought it would be fine without them. WRONG. Sunday at church he ripped the pages right out. Bummer. Back to square one on that.
He does this cute little thing when he gets excited where he bounces up and down and kind of walks, but on his knees. I love it. He does it when he needs both hands too-for holding the big basketballs.
Sunday morning is when things got interesting (aka normal for around here) Cannon was digging through his Easter basket and we were getting about ready to head to church when Burton called. One of the Momma goats that just had babies died, which means Cannon and I each got a baby goat for Easter and we're bottle feeding them, with one of Cannon's bottles that I modified. They are kind of cute little suckers though. They make my boys pretty happy.
Cannon makes the cutest little goat noise. He'll say "woof woof" and I say "No, that's what a dog says, what does a goat say?" and he'll go "eh eh eh" its so funny. I'm going to try and get a video. He likes the goats! All 3 of them (Cannon and the 2 goats) know the screech of our back door opening means the goats get a bottle.
They keep us busy. (Notice we had to make use of the Nativity scene to trap them in. Stable...its fitting)
The other funny thing this week was Isaac "lotioning" Cannon down with "the new lotion" NOPE it was diaper rash cream. It was hilarious, all of Cannon and Isaac's hands were covered in white. Too Funny.
I love watching Cannon discover things. He got some animal shaped magnets for Easter, I showed him they stick to the fridge, he discovered they also stick to the side of it, then I watched him put them up to the cupboard door and fall, he looked a little confused, it was too cute.

The dunking thing was so cute, I should have waited 2 days to film it because by then he could pull himself right up, oh well. It was a little less cute when he was picking (clean folded...) clothes out of our dresser and "dunking" them into the dirty clothes hamper. The little toad was supposed to be asleep, but I guess it was still pretty cute.

Friday we had a fun day, we had a little birthday party for Grampa Chip. Isaac...well the goats... I don't remember how much I wrote last weekend but he's back at the goat thing. I want to hate it but when I see how stink'n happy the goats make him I can't really hate it. Friday he got home at 11:15 and set his alarm for 1:00am to head north to get the goats-exhausted????? Not a chance, he was nothing but excited. He drove through the night and did the goat thing ALL DAY Saturday...until like 10:00 or later. He's always so tired, not when there's goat jobs to worry about. I'm telling you-its crazy! I don't get it. BUT, its really good to see him happy. He says he loves the "economics" of goats, its a business idea to him (mind you we made ZERO $$ last year for all the time and $$ he put into it...an investment he calls it...hmmm) but anyway He is seriously SO HAPPY when he's dink'n around with these goat projects. Its the pits that he's never around when he's enthralled in the goat world, but Cannon and I just went with him one night looking around for junk for the trailer for the goats, it was just what we had to do if we wanted to see him that night. Another night he was "basically on his way" so I got dinner ready then I got this picture message.
That's 5 little baby goats on the floor mat of the truck, their mom's are in the back. I turned dinner off and Cannon and I walked down to meet him at Burton's where he was taking them. So sometimes if we want to actually SEE HIM its goats for us too. I'll admit The baby goats were pretty stink'n cute.

Conference was great, I loved it! Loved the emphasis on the family!

Tuesday night was enrichment night (additional RS meeting--whatever) apparently my 3 cases of Ramen and 3 cases of Powerade in the garage are insufficient food storage, bummer. The lesson was a good one on preparedness of all types. I have some work to do! I've started by keeping track of what I made for dinner-so I'll know what we use in a month-and can kind of go from there. Really, I cook like 5 things total-it shouldn't be hard. We really do have some food storage but...organization here I come (Don't believe it, until it happens.)

I'm working on the quiet book-its so stink'n cute in my mind, that might be where the cuteness ends though. Anyway so one of the pages is a garden-I've mentioned that before-I wanted pictures of Cannon at the garden on the next page so its part interactive and part...well...scrapbooky...not really...but him seeing pictures of places and things he recognizes. Anyway so another page is "Plant flowers at the temple" so my little stroke of genius was to let him play on the temple lawn while I took pictures. Poor kid has no say-his dad never would have let me get away such and truth is-he wasn't exactly thrilled either but I did take bubbles, I had that going for me. So in the end I have these
for 11 months pictures and I thought they were fun and worth it. My goal was Easter for the quiet book...so maybe his quiet book will only have 2 pages. Oh well.

We were going to head to Emery County and spend Easter with Grandma and Grandpa Ison but that got vetoed that when the opportunity to get 2 hives of bees arose. WHAT??? Yeah, I don't generally ask 'what next?' I'm scared of the answers. Goats and Bees all in one week. Once again, he's so excited. He just loves it, they do a good thing (pollinate the flowers) while making a good thing (honey) what could be better than that?-can't you just hear him trying to sell me on this idea? ...side note, Isaac doesn't even really like honey... So Happy Easter Grandma and Grandpa Ison-sorry we missed ya!

Cannon's been up to sucking his bottom lip in when I try to get him to give me kisses-its darling -but the not so good news is it seems in the last week he has developed a bit of an attitude, what the heck? He's not a teenager yet! But if he's not getting his way, we are quickly made aware-little stinker and he's been ultra clingy and whiny, I think he might be work'n on some teeth so I think don't think he feels real great but still, yikes! Those poor young women that were in the nursery Tuesday. We sure love him though! I hope its just not feeling good that is the culprit and that he gets feeling better soon!!

Friday we went down to the ball field, oh there is just nothing like it in the spring, I love it! I love coaching basketball, its definitely my preference, but I when I'm there something inside me itches to coach, too bad I know how much time and effort it takes... Coach Beck's little boy is about 6 weeks older than Cann Man they were fast friends, especially because he came prepared with a bat and ball! Isaac met us down there and brought Pizza for date night. PERFECT! We were watching the JV game though-they end in a tie-stupidest thing I'd about ever heard!Saturday was just as much fun as the pictures look. We played in the yard and garden, hooked up the bike trailer, and Grampa even topped off the evening by bringing his dogs up. Cannon was so kind as to share is dinner with them. This little guy LOVES dogs. They make him so happy. (I really think I'm toast, its just going to be a matter of time for us)
Sunday was our ward conference so the stake taught our SS class, we had an awesome lesson
on Gratitude. We really do have SO MUCH to be GRATEFUL FOR! I was a great reminder to actually BE GRATEFUL for all of the good things in life. You know the famous Lou Gehrig speech where he says "Today, (real slow and drawn out ya gotta think of the speech here) I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of this earth..." My thoughts stole his line as I got to be home and play with Cann Man this week.

Things Cannon's up too:
Crawling Up on things, the playground at park, a box I left in the living room before taking it out to the trash, the bleachers, anything he can find.
Dunking!

Clicking his tongue against the top of his mouth-this is something he's done be fore but the re-discovery is just as cute.
Extending the ck sound of Yuckckck, or ickckck when we take a poopy diaper out, then he started doing it anytime we were changing a diaper. The kids just a cute little turkey!
And in less darling news...we have a biter! He bit Ava's finger at church (I tell ya those 2 are so cute together but they have a tough love relationship) I thought it was just a fluke-or I wished it was just a fluke-because she was pointing her index finger at him just playing and he chomped on it. But Friday we were at Ann's and he was playing with Mr. Potato head's lips. She's been antagonistic all week and it didn't matter what toy he had, that's the one she wanted. So she promptly took them from him. With his catlike reflexes he swiped them back, which of course did not make her very happy (I'm watching all of this from the couch, feeding the Elsie a bottle) she grabbed his arm with the death-grip squeeze and started prying the lips out of his fingers. So he just ducked his little head into the arm that was providing the death grip and CHOMP. Fluke? Accident? NO WAY, the little stinker knew exactly what he was doing. It threw Ann way off, because it hurt AND it was the first time Cannon's fought back at all.
Anyway...
Here's another movie, movies and pictures is how I entertained myself in the evening when Isaac's off goat'n it. This one's more than 3 seconds long, the left hand was giving him trouble-he's definitely a righty but I think that's why we got the standing :)

Isaac's been doing the goat thing again...if your thinking AGAIN????? ME TOO. My disdain for it doesn't deter him one bit, in fact he asked if he could bring some to our yard again. Oh have mercy. Our mutual agreement is that I don't have to hear about the goats, so sometimes I think its gone away but its really not.
His other project this week was starting a little roofing service project with the scouts, its such a good meaningful project (Cannon and I ended up being the supply cart so we got to see them all up on the roof, working away, it was cool. )

Friday night Isaac camped and Saturday helped out with the scouts selling programs at the air show, and he's got a sweet free t-shirt to prove it. I think he had fun. Saturday night we had family garage night, the boys were tinkering with the motorcycle (its a constant thing and I just think its so cute every time I keep taking pictures) This one is from Thursday. I did my tinkering with the engraver.
Sunday we had dinner with my parents and grandparents. YUM! The roast, Isaac likes meat a lot, I could pretty much take it or leave it but that gravy...I LOVE mashed potatoes and specifically my mom's gravy! I don't usually write about food but...I guess it was just that good!
Monday it was see ya later spring break we headed back to tend Ann and Elsie, then had a LONG day at school school getting ready for the basketball banquet which was Wednesday. I thought it turned out nice though, I've bemoaned that state lose so bad it was actually really good for me to stop and recognize and celebrate a great season!
Good things from the week: Lick'n the beaters, busting through the wrappers (finally) and eating Chocolate with Grampa Frei

And helping dad turn the pages while we read scriptures as a family. Right now Cannon LOVES the scriptures! Our task as parents is to teach him so that will always be the case :)
And our radishes are starting to come up. I refrained from taking a picture-but barely!
Not so good things from the week...I may or may not have buckled Cannon into the double stroller (Ann either) and he may or may not have slid out the front and been clinging to the tray with a "what the heck is going on" expression as I was running him over. UG. I may or may not be the worst mom ever! At that moment I definitely thought I was.
One last pic, lest you wonder if we're really rednecks or not. We are! Here's me hauling the new truck tires over to Isaac in the back of our utility vehicle, little green. Car seat on the other side-Cannon was in charge of watching them. We rolled the windows down so as not to asphyxiate ourselves with the ever so pleasant tire store smell. Really this could have gone with good or bad things from the week, its all about perspective. HAHA, until text time....

Monday, March 12, 2012

We went to the school to help one of my basketball players with pitching this week, the day was just as beautiful as is looks.

Cann was game on to wear his Cubs hat (finally) so we went with it all week. Early Thursday morning we woke to 2 inches of standing...well pouring out into the hall...water in our main bathroom. Yikes. Mess. But just life. Really we're super lucky Cann Man was up in the middle of the night so we found it before it was any worse. Whoever thought I'd be grateful he doesn't sleep through the night?
Found out some sad news about one of my friends this week. Sucks. I'm thankful for friends! They play such an important role in this life. This week I hurt for my friend though.
Wednesday while Isaac was at scouts we went to my moms and while we were messing around with fingernails, Cann Man was earning his first fat lip :( It got pretty swollen that night poor little guy. These two pics are the next night though, you can tell in this first one just how much it slowed him down. The other one is kind of a bad pic but it showed it a little better. The swelling was gone but it got pretty bloody he got underneath and on top. I know, the poor kid's in for it if I really document every scratch... and it doesn't even look like much in those pics.
JIll and Devin we're down soak'n up some of this beautiful weather Thursday so we met up at the fire station park, it was a fun one. Ryker was a little thrown off his grove but Cannon's pointing to the ball on his shirt, and it was so fun to visit. I miss them living here. Along with rock'n the hats Cannon's been doing some pretty cute things this week. Like if we take him in the garage he makes his own version of motorcyle noises. I love it. We'd been messing around with a few of the sign language things things but I got all excited to show Isaac and he just made fun of it so...game over. The jury's still out on whether I'm giving it up entirely or just while Isaac's home. If I made him sign for every little thing I'd think it was stupid too but having him communicate back to me just a little bit is fun.

We got our garden (for now) planted :) and Isaac kept ask'n me if I'd let Cannon play in the dirt, I gave in. It was so cute.

We went for a little walk and found some little league baseball down the street. Cann watched pretty good but he couldn't figure out the screaming ladies behind us.
Well, I guess that's it for now, I'm trying to mix up my blogg'n schedule so its not on Sunday's when we could be spending time together as a family. Isaac says he doesn't mind but, then again can ya ever imagine Isaac saying he did mind? I can't. I'm just not convinced its the best. (We already have different opinions of an ideal Sunday.) So blogg'n sometime in the week should be a simple change.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Monday was beautiful so we went for a couple walks. That night we went to Coach Kittrell's retirement shin dig. It was like the ultimate class reunion, pretty fun.
We've had a good week, play'n outside, with dad's wallet, with Grampa, and it Grama's candy jar...just the usual.
Here's Cannon and Isaac's new air ship, the cloud buster wouldn't exactly fit through the door so we left it in the garage Friday night while we went to the temple. Saturday morning we got it in. Cannon's dog went for a ride but was just a little to heavy, so Pooh won out.
Saturday we had to clean out a the garage to make a spot for the engraver :) it was a fun family day from start (the air ship) to finish (Ann's birthday). I LOVE these next two pics. Isaac better watch out because Cannon is watching EVERY move he makes.

We borrowed (and rigged up) a tiller from my dad's garden and worked on our little garden spot. I'm SO excited, Cannon and I bought some seeds Monday and we're so in the garden zone I even worked on a garden page of his quiet book.
Ann turned 2 on Sunday, but we had a little party on Sat. We roasted hot dogs and had cake and ice cream. It was fun, one whiff of that smoke and Isaac said "We need to go camping." Somehow "Okay" came out of my mouth-it slipped! But...ok-maybe we'll try out camping with the little guy this summer.

anyway just a good fun week!
