Its Friday again already...
Saturday was Home Depot day! YEAH!!! We always look fwd to that. They built a cool race car this time. Then as we were wandering around the store the same cute worker lady that told me they do free birthday parties last time, told me again. I'm pretty excited about that-AND I passed the info on to my friend in the ward who coordinates our little play group. That should be fun.
Saturday was also Grandma Ison's birthday so Cannon got to show off his "Happy Birthday" singing skills on skype-that was pretty fun. I really can't think of much from the week. We did go swimming at the indoor pool at Isaac's school one night and Cannon loved it so that was fun. We had the missionaries over for dinner again. Cannon looks so forward to that, he's sure they come just to see him. This week is spring break so hopefully along with the move -YIPEE...but not until Friday :( - anyway  hopefully we'll have something fun to report. My mom called and said "just come home for spring break" of course I looked into it, she was totally willing to help but YIKES-expensive-plus we've waited so long to be able to move it just wasn't going to work very good. BUT, we did find a pretty good deal on a ticket for just Cannon and I to sneak home for Grampa Chip's Birthday (one day late) so of course we've been practicing.

Its a little crazy because its just a few weeks before our "last Cannon flies free" trip...but we gotta make the most of them while we can :)
Oh and the singing thing-its Cannon's favorite-when he won't eat we just bribe him with a song per bite. I've thought about recording it several times but then the reality is its mostly me (and Isaac) singing with Cannon being excited and cute-mouth usually full- and throwing in a few words here and there...not worth documenting.

This was the scene when I got done blogging last night. I figured as much as I was hiding in the bedroom with the computer-because otherwise its way too much help from Cannon-and it seemed awfully quiet.
Actually, its the scene again right now, only they are in on the bed and I'm out in the living room. But, I've been meaning to write about one of my favorite things Cannon is up to lately for about 3 weeks now and I keep forgetting so this is a nice second chance for me. I love to get Cannon's attention when I don't really need it and just tell him I love him, he's totally caught on, its so cute and so fun. I'll say "Hey Cannon" and he'll turn and beat me to the line and  say "I yove you." So then sometimes we go back and forth with a "Most" on the end, but I'm telling ya-It'll melt a mom's heart. He sure is fun.

Last Saturday we went to the temple with the youth-Cannon and I hung out outside while Isaac helped with the baptisms. We had fun playing on the temple grounds, I took a video of him singing "I love to see the temple" but it didn't turn out very good :( He was so cute to tell me (and anyone that would listen) that "Moroni" was on the top. We made sure to smell all the pretty flowers and...I don't know what the licking the lights was all about-gross-but he just kept doing it.
The plan was for me to get to go after, while Cannon and Isaac hung out but they ran out of temple workers. I'm telling you, we're learning all kinds of things -the hard way-about these smaller temples. But just like Memphis...we'll know for next time. Then we went to some little nature place

It was a freaking snake farm, it was disgusting. I think my boys had fun. Me not so much. I hated it. We were late getting back for me to watch the State Championship game online, plus I was hungry. It was a recipe for disaster, oh well it happens. And then, to make it all worse,  my girls stink'n lost-again. I'm so distraught about it. I know that really they're not "my girls" anymore-I don't have anything to do with it, and really-its just a game-but ...it just makes me sick. There is no reason that I should lose sleep over it-I am not involved-but I've found myself awake countless times this week replaying things in my head. I don't know, in some ways I feel so bad for them, and in other ways I'm so mad about all the stupid things...and again not involved so its dumb for me to even think about it. Oh well. Seriously-such a bummer-consumed way too much of my week. Just a game. They'll still learn life lessons even if they never win it. (Maybe they could choose to learn some sooner that would help them win it. UG)
Moving on.
Oh wait, Isaac thinks I should coach here-I'm not interested in the commitment-I liked going home for a month at Christmas. But if the one boys game we went to was any indication...they need coaches. They were super athletic, but it was ultra undisciplined and looked like street ball-I wasn't impressed.

Moving on for real this time. Only it was a pretty boring week. We did get out for a couple walks. Thursday we went to a Movie at the Library-we didn't make it through the movie-but ended up going to dinner and a little Mexican place near by. It turned out to be a really fun date. Today they've replaced our stairs (should be really nice for the next people that live here) but that means we've been stuck inside all day (I had to choose in or out-and I just went with in) Cannon had fun watching the machines and workers outside the window. (And Cannon's idea of the perfect breakfast just cuz I had to throw it on there. YUCK. He love "Yummy Ramee's" as we call them.)

Last Saturday Isaac went down to Hattisburg and helped with the Helping Hands tornado clean up, they were going to go Sunday as well but they didn't really have enough "work orders" for them. Sunday, we went to dinner at some friends in our ward, it was really really fun, and Wednesday Cannon and I tended for a few hours for a gal in our ward, 7 months later I feel like I'm starting to get to know people a little more.
Every Idea I had for Isaac's birthday-no good. So Wednesday morning I asked Cannon what we should get his dad for his birthday, then I said "Should we go to Walmart and get him a  motorcycle?" and he got this excited look on his face and said "And Tannon, and Tannon" It was so cute. Then when I went to play group and our bishop's wife was telling us about the best beach in Mississippi and its actually and Island you have to take a boat to but if you go the right time of year you get to see dolphins and stuff...oh I was so excited. Its totally what we are going to do for his birthday-maybe spring break? Maybe we'll wait until summer but I was so happy to have a plan that wasn't going to be derailed. So when Isaac got home I said "FINALLY, I'm so excited about your birthday present." And  Cannon chimed in and said "Daddy Motorcycle" The little stinker, sure can't keep a secret. It was super cute though. And he's a pretty good little "Happy Birthday" singer. He learned it a nursery -its one of his friends favorite songs-and I'm so glad its so cute. I recorded it on my phone as a sound but I should have tried to get a video. Oh well.

So much for not having T.V. -this never would have been the scene if Cannon hadn't discovered  Curious George over Christmas break.

He's being a little bit of a stinker too-like throwing a fit when I tell'm he's watched enough "Monkey George" I was ready to cut it off forever but...This weekend is the State Tournament (Utah, my basketball girls) I'm hoping him being enthralled in Curious George is going to be the ticket to me getting to watch the semi final game today. Which by the way-watching online sucks...its not the same...oh and I have million times more anxiety, its stupid, but I'm really glad they stream it.  Oh and speaking of basketball, we have this crazy loud booming cracking Thunder here and I say "Whoa buddy-did you hear the thunder?" (as if anyone could have missed it) and he says "Basketball?" that's right buddy, mom's basketball girls are the Thunder. It was pretty cute, but then again-excluding the fits-I think pretty much everything he does is cute.

There a few other pretty normal things-like how much Cannon loves to go to the church with his dad-or asks me to go just anytime but his dad actually takes him, or how he thinks the missionaries come over just to see and play with him, but I think that pretty much wraps up another week...

We had such a fun weekend with Grama. Oh it was a blast-and as much as we like airplanes, cuz they take us home, or bring us Grama-we could have done without the one that took her back. For the weekend, pretty much nothing went as planned. We were going to go on a river boat tour-to bad they don't open until March. She found a plantation for us to tour-not a soul around, didn't answer the phone...they might have done tours in the past but...not anymore, and I was only willing to drive past one of the private drive no trespassing signs. We went to this diner that was "just down the street from our hotel" -yeah right- the first time we drove all over, the iphone told us to just drive on "stadium dr" but it was all locked and gated up, then we drove all over ghetto parts of that city but finally found it. It was good enough that we wanted to go back and that time we would have got off the freeway and been there after one quick turn but we ran into a Mardi Gra parade...more crazy driving adventures only to get there and have it be closed. It was always something, the petting zoo-closed, when we went back-freezing, Sunday morning there was a tornado warning, and so on...but we still just had so much fun and laughed about stuff.
MOSTLY it was just fun fun fun and so good to see Grama.
Airplane Museum at Barkdale Airforce base. It was cool.
Pillow Fights and basketball in the hotel room with Grama. So fun
As hard as it was so say goodbye (Cannon was so cute, we were driving out of the airport parking lot and he said  "Grama, Grama" only its "Mamaw" for him but anyway I told him "Grama has to go back to Utah on an airplane." And he said "Mom sad." Yep buddy) but Isaac made coming back good though just by being cute. He'd decorated our house for Valentines week. And we celebrated all week long. It was so cute of him and so fun. He's been very thoughtful.
Slowly I think Isaac is starting to understand how hard it is for me to be away from family, its big progress for us, but he was really cute about just being so happy that we had so much fun even though he missed us, and we had a fun week. We made a lot of Valentine Cookies, Cannon calls the frosting "butter" then when I tell him "Its not butter its frosting." He starts singing "Frosty the Snowman." So cute. I think he's a pretty normal kid as far as picking at the frosting, licking it off his finger then leaving the cookie.
I think that pretty much wraps up the week.

Friday was such a fun day. I feel a little bit bad-like we finally wore President McDonough down...but mostly it was just great. Really I think President figured with Shawn serving so far away now (in Texarkana) the chances of us getting to see him while he's out here serving were getting pretty slim. (Speaking of slim, Shawn looked slimmer and taller than I remembered him. He looked good and seemed good, it was just fun) Of course Isaac Big Brothered him and told him he better not let getting to see us be a distraction and this was a once in a life time opportunity that he has to serve the Lord himself full time. True/and classic Isaac. He also (sternly-or something I don't know what it was...haha) reminded me as we pulled into the church that I was not allowed to give him a hug. Ok Honey. Again, classic Isaac, rules aren't his thing-unless they are mission rules.

Cannon was SO SO Shy for Uncle Shawn. I knew that was going to happen but oh well. Its just a bummer because he loves the missionaries so much and gets So excited when they are coming over or when he's going to get to see them at church. I did dress him up and put a little "future missionary" tag on him. He can say so many things but he wouldn't say ANYTHING. So I guess we'll have to make a little movie of him talking and send it to Shawn.
The rest of the week? Anti climatic...(until today)
I temporarily lost my camera :( I was so afraid I'd lost the pictures with Shawn but Isaac found it in the couch so that was great. So I missed a few pics, like the one of Cannon with a chicken leg in his mouth. I sent Isaac to the store for a pork roast and he came back with a roasting hen. It was a good experiment for us...but I'm not real interested in repeating it any time soon. I took Cann Man to the Home Depot day thing because Isaac had meetings- it was a blast, I'm totally sold. I don't know if I'll let them go with out me anymore :) Anyway. The antibiotic is doing awesome and Cannon is feeling a ton better-every time he gets better after being sick I'm so amazed at how much energy he has. Amazed. Exhausted. Etc. When he was sick we could read and color pretty much all day-now he's running full speed and begging to go outside pretty much all day. I'm very happy to have him healthy though (Now if Isaac and I could just kick it-we'd be in business)
Cannon's favorite meal is a "wafflewithdaddy" we had it at least 3 times this week after daddy had  already gone to school, but that's what he calls it and he loves it. He's learning to say the blessing on the food-unfortunately I'm teaching him vain repetitions already. He'll usually say the last word I say, so I'll say "Dear Heavenly Father" he'll say "Fadder" but then he jumps right to a long drawn out "Day" so I guess I always say "Thankful for this day" next. Crazy what this little guy teaches me about myself. But he's fun.
In to mischief, luckily there wasn't much curling ribbon left.

Today we're driving to Shreveport for little get away fun with Grama. We're both pretty exited.

I'm not sure Cann Man has ever really been better since we got back from Utah, we had a good few days and I was happy but then he started coughing again like crazy and it just kept getting worse and worse. He coughed so hard he puked. Or Isaac all the sudden went medicine man on me (he just wanted Cannon to feel better too but anyway) Forced Medicine=more puke. Oh  man it was rough so after a really long Monday night more coughing more fever I finally called the Dr. Tues thankfully they were able to get us in that day. He was just in sad shape-it was heartbreaking. Anyway double ear infection, so thankful  to have some medicine for him now though. With that being the bulk of our week I really don't even have any pictures. WHAT??? I know crazy huh.
But there's a few in my mind I'll describe: First of all he's been so sick for so long so a lot of nights its our bed if I want any rest at all. Just picture our big king size bed, Isaac slid clear to one side sleeping on a sliver of the bed. Me slid equally far to the other side and Cann Man completely sprawled out arms up over his head and all being like the horizontal bar of an "H" it was a common sight and really there wasn't a whole lot of sleeping going on my part (Isaac-uncomfortable as he looked managed to be snoring) just relief if Cannon was actually asleep and listening to his little raspy breathing :( The other 2 pictures in my mind come from the middle of the night also. I was up rocking him in the chair when he asked for (or demand like he does-little stinker) milk. I said I would go get it for him and said "You wait here for me" as I set him down in the chair. When I came back with the milk I found him: he had started to follow me, by rolling onto his tummy and sliding his feet off of the chair, but then fell back asleep. It was hilarious. If it hadn't been 3:30 in the morning I would have taken a picture. I just put his blanket on the floor and slid him the rest of the way off the chair and let him sleep there. Finally-yet another 3:30 event. We were both up so I figured what the heck, I'd make Isaac's lunch because if by chance I was able to sleep a few hours later-I wasn't going to want to get up to do it then. So I started making sandwiches and Cann came toddling in, in his little footy pajamas with a big grin on his face, his baseball glove on his left hand (we hadn't been working on it-but that is huge progress) and a foam baseball in his right hand with his arm cocked and ready (elbow up and all-good boy)  saying "Frow It" SO Stink'n cute. I loved it...and 3:30 or not, in the middle of making lunch or not...we stopped and played catch for a second. (Hoping I wasn't creating a bad habit with the I get to play with mom in the middle of the night thing)
-Sigh- no wonder I love pictures so much. I feel like I just had to type forever (that thousand words they talk about right?) Yuck, I'll make sure and get the camera out this next week. Mostly boring -and sick- week but yesterday we made some cookies and little valentines that we're going to take to the Zone Leadership Conference Uncle Shawn has at our building this afternoon. SO EXCITED!!!
