6 months! (Old post I found in drafts that never got published)

Neighbors

Sunday I got new individual pics of the big  boys in their suits, hopefully I can get Sethy this week🀞

Bus for the first time. Having them ready to go at 6:55 is WAY harder than 7:30!

Tann had a fever one night and complained of his teeth hurting. Then either the next morning or maybe one later he woke up with ear wax all over his ear and in his hair. Ornery...maybe it was ear trouble??!
Me and Dr google thing he’s probably fine but I’m guessing his eardrum ruptured??? I don’t know but we know people if I get too worried.

6 months for my wide open mouth smiler
Who me?

And I know he’s only on his knees and elbows in the pic but he really does get on his hands and knees and rock back and forth!!!!
Slow down little boy slow down!!!
Cannon had football and Scouts so the other boys and I went to the park on Wed

Thursday the big boys started piano. I’m excited. Cannons not amused but I don’t care, occasionally he’s going to have to do things that aren’t his idea. Colt is excited about piano but Cannon got a little farther on lesson one so he’s of course wanting to catch up.
Today Cann had football. So of course he wanted to play catch before!

I think he had fun. These guys had fun in the grass and playing on the K.

We did come follow me and scriptures down at the church because Cannon wanted to stay and watch the HS play but there was just an hour and a half to kill before it started.
And this...is because Tanner didn’t get to tie his own cleats

This is just a phase right???? Probably not with this kid!

Oh and today we had friends over at lunch.
This post needs more stories and details but I’m too tired!

I walked into the living room last Sat and saw this!
Little cutie but dang they grow so fast! The boys had the cushions off the couch and that was just enough of a help for him. Now he pulls himself up with the cushions on and all! It’s resulted in a few tumbles but he thinks he’s a big shot! And speaking of the cushions they were using them and the pillows as shields throwing little nerf arrows at each other-just fighting- when I gave them the “hey knock it off” Colt came back with “we gotta know how to fight off the firery darts of the adversary!” 🀣
At least I know he’d been listening for that 2weeks of studying the armor of God! They’re good kids—and really I’m just thankful they were playing together instead of glued to a screen! Big boys even helped Tan with this puzzle πŸ‘πŸ»

Did I mention he’s a lot of help...
And sometimes it’s a miracle we even get to church! This pic does not do the war in the back justice!

More home improvement around here. He was just jacking up the floor using Grampa Chips favorite level πŸ˜‰πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£
Oh and he’s got some trim up in that hallway!

Annnnnnd we start them young. 😳
We went to the dentist this week. Tanners first time. Ward friends tended for me, both when we first went and the next day when I took Cann back to have a cavity filled. All 4 of us but only one cavity—pretty good.

Colt our little art lover was pretty excited he got to be the art star! And Isaac and Tan took our grandfriend Bro Chace to Grandparents Tan. Tan loves school but Isaac said he couldn’t have cared less that he and Bro Chace were there.

And today!!! It was s pumpkin kinda day. We got to go to Colts class and carve pumpkins.

We had a great time and Ms Hatfield didn’t mind tending Seth either πŸ˜‰
I’m so surprised I don’t have a pic of Cannon in his Indian costume. I just ordered a cheap one off eBay. He loves it. And don’t be thinking I’m the one making a robot costume! Little Mr independent is on it!

Oh and we snagged Lani’s bike for Tan to borrow because as soon as he can do it he can ride the motorcycle and he really likes motorcycles!
It’s a wonder Tan let Cannon help him after this:

After doing it at school there was no escaping the carving pumpkins at home project tonight.
Colt got pretty good at being the guts man.

Finished projects!

Cannon's touchdown

Man I had a hard time getting the computer to work to let me make a collage then getting it uploaded but here's the touchdown from Cannon's last week of flag football.

Of all the things I could type tonight—all that matters is they’re gone!!!! The stupid goats are gone!!!! I am so happy! Seriously it erased so much of the crappy parts of the week!  No more crawling in the back of the van just so I could shut the door quickly enough they couldn’t get in. (Then from there strapping Seth in and crawling up to the driver seat) No more poop EVERYWHERE (I say no more but at least not until next time Isaac  gets a goat idea) he cleaned the front porch for me one day but the next day it rained so they laid there and pooped some more-it’s everywhere. Sunday some friends brought a treat  and Isaac said afterward “that crap everywhere is kindof embarrassing huh?” YES!!!!! It is! And hopefully no more poison ivy for Isaac-it’s been bad! The goats love it but then the “friendly” little buggers rub up against him and that stuff just penetrates his skin and wreaks havoc later! It’s crazy!
So today the goat owners came and got them. Yay! Yay! And YAY!!!!
When they were here or supposed to be here or whatever Isaac went outside and when he came back in I said “Am I a happy mom?” He said (in a tone like he would say about himself “oh I’m always a happy dad” or something like that) anyway he said “oh your always...” voice trails off. Hahaha because he knew he couldn’t lie about me always being happy! He knows better, and yesterday was NOT a happy day! He knows better and the kids were all right there and they would have called him on it too!
Ha -
Anyway! They are gone, making me YES-a happy mom!

So back to the week
Home Depot day and Conference. (Check out Seth looking on)

Isaac and Cannon did service all day while they listened. That night Colt and Tanner went to family fun night with the Bakers. I went to the women’s session at the church, Isaac was like oh bummer I’d really rather Sis Baker go to that meeting than take our kids to family fun night so I said well she’s going to family fun night regardless because she promised Emma but I see the easy solution to this is you take all the kids to family fun night with Emma too 🀷‍♀️
Just before the meeting part started (we did a little dinner before) but Naomi text me and said Isaac had gone down and offered to take over so she could come! So good for him! It worked out!
I enjoyed conference. The boys have listened better other times...probably need to up my game. I definitely have a vision of what I would like it to be like but we’re definitely not there, in fact I’m not even convinced we’re facing the right direction but sometimes I just need to adjust my expectations. Here they are watching “how it’s made videos”  between and after conf. Then a little walk.

Monday we went over to Jaggers and the kids got to shoot his new youth size 243. Ray shared a whole album of pics with me but these are the only ones I had on my phone, it’s late, I’m tired, good enough.

We had to drive down there cuz we couldn’t walk without the goats following us. I’m so glad they are gone!!!!
It’s been homecoming weeks so lots of dressing up and that kindof thing. Cann got to be in the parade. We were on the wrong side but he did wave back our way. We froze our tails off at the ball game...
Oh and some friends came to the ward garden before the hard freeze tonight-Tann loved having friends over!! (Especially nice on Friday’s he HATES not getting to go to school)

Colt got to bob for apples and had all kinds of apple fun-he his loving kindergarten. He looked forward to Friday all week.
Seth is crawling crawling! Then he stops and sits like this the big boys ask why he’s leaning I just tell them he’s just figuring stuff out. Oh and somebody talked me into playing checkers. When we were done he told me “mom, I’m so glad I won” watch it buddy you probably don’t want to get my competitive blood pumping. Haha!

And maybe I shouldn’t post this one. But what the heck. Isaac had fall break so off work Thurs and Friday he was in project mode but...that’s not typically good for me. Oh and we had the roof bid but then he was talking about just doing it himself-now he’s getting another bid.  That was separate from the I think I’ll paint-oh first I need to sand-we start cleaning off the shelves in the hallway there 1/2 way through, do you want me to line you out on grading test? What are we going to do with this trim, or that, we need one more piece here, oh wait I should fix this floor before I paint. Maybe we can just switch these doors and use that one that wouldn’t need to be primed. Measured them-no go. We can’t even paint because we can’t find the paint trays. Maybe  we should build in a linen closet.
I was going crazy
Then he told me I had a bad attitude.
Yep! I do—we haven’t done ANYTHING more out on the siding except leave it out there to get dirty and tromped by the goats. Or the thresholds-I finally bought one and stained it, $7, we’ve lived with that ugly mess for this long when it was a $7 fix. It still needs polyurethane so it’s still an ugly mess for Seth to dig in, so gross! Anyway I was mad. Mad. Mad. Not always a happy mom. I didn’t help with anything after I snapped but... he’s persistent and has been kicking butt on things (as in a long list of random and changing projects) and it really does look a million times better. So here’s the pic that reminded me of that little rant-at least Tan would help him.

And like I started with, the goats are gone! It’s a good day! Who cares about what else may have happened!! I’m a happy mom now. Good enough.

I’m not sure when Seth sleeps... cuz it’s not at night and not at naptime... but the cute little stinker gets away with it when he does stuff like this:

So the week-
Isaac had Truman Showcase last weekend then a Beta Alpha Psi (or something) BBQ—he took Seth with him to the BBQ and the rest of us stayed home. I didn’t even know what to do with 2 hands for a full hour and a half! Maybe 2 hours!!

Cannon and I also got to watch a little BYU football (loss...man between the cubs not making the playoffs and our Cougs...welcome to cheering for losing teams bud. Sorry. I get so excited for him to like who I like! ...Maybe I should back off about him liking Golden State...) anyway we were checking scores and saw the game was on ESPN+ ($5 for the month) SOLD I did feel a little bad that he only ever gets to watch highlights when he had no clue what 2nd and 7 meant. Fail. Again-sorry Bud!
Sundays big news was the unveiling of the new children and youth program. Well that and remember how we were going to replace the roof on this place before it gave us problems?? Whoops too late. It was crazy Tanner didn’t want to sleep in his room, we were like great we don’t care sleep in the living room just go to bed!!! So he slept in the brown chair. Well Sunday morning Isaac was previewing the broadcast but I was asleep (I ended up watching it with him) but initially I was in hour room and Tan was in the living room so that pretty much only left upstairs for Isaac to sneak away to and watch the broadcast. While up there he found the leak. So a little Tanner ‘tude turned out to be a blessing! Saturday while I had time and hands I swept up a little downstairs. I’ll be darned if I didn’t throw away the tar he needed. Unmarked completely rusted old gallon can...yeah I should’ve known-if I ever throw away anything I get caught! Oh well! He ended up going to buy some and doing a quick little repair job that morning. It seems to have held. But we had the Amish guys come bid it Wednesday.
We’ve been working hard on “snap” words Colts supposed to know them in a SNAP. So we’ve been a creative as possible. Making them with clay, writing them in the dirt, forming marshmallows into the shape of them and so on!

Goat fun πŸ™„ oh Sunday the real owners came out and gave the sick one a shot. While his big Bro’s were riding motorcycles Tan was playing with the goats..

But I will admit it’s pretty cute when he’s squealing/laughing “Follow the leader” and they’re all trotting behind him. And speaking of motorcycles this is SUCH A BIG DEAL!!!! Colt got back on!!!

Isaac got a major work out because he had to run everywhere Colt went-actually I’m really proud of him too. He’s definitely had to make some adjustments. When we first moved here he turned Colt loose and wouldn’t run beside him then Colt wrecked (not bad) but Colt hasn’t been back on since we couldn’t even get him to ride atvthe sewer ponds this summer! Isaac would’ve just got back on Cannon would’ve just got back on, but Colts like no way that sucked and I haven’t forgotten!! And sometimes he gets so upset about it.  So it’s taken some time but I think Isaac has realized oh he’s not going to just get back on. So he’s started working with him! And I’m proud of the both. Cannon meanwhile was zipping around on his 65.
The other day when we were working on the siding (no further progress on thatπŸ€”) and the boys built the “Goat hut” they put a fire pit in front. So they’d been begging to light it and Tuesday I gave it. After school snack marshmallows...only we only had miniature ones. Oh well good enough. They had a blast!!

The videos a little choppy (cuz it was originally a Marco) so that’s why I left the pics too but it was so funny!

I ended up with no pics of just Cannon-darn. In one of the videos I took he says “I roasted it perfect! -I should’ve shared!!”  I thought it was pretty cute. But Tan shared -just a lick- with Seth and the loved sharing with me we had a good time.  Sometimes life out here is pretty darn good!
Wednesday we brought Cohen home from school with us and then took him back when it was time for scouts.  Thursday sweet bro Chace and his wife brought over pizza! So nice (and it was delicious) he is such a nice guy. He’d asked me if he could do it and I’m telling you I tried my hardest to turn it on him and make it so I could make him a dinner that he’d really enjoy but he was determined. Making us the grateful recipients of his kindness. Isaac had to go after just a few minutes cuz he has a meeting but It was fun to visit with them! And he even did dishes (I tried to stop him but finally resolved to documenting it!!)

This is same guy who pulled the nails out of our wood floor when Isaac was salvaging it. I swear he’s as good as they come, we told him we owed that floor he was standing on to him! We’re so lucky he ministers to us!
And today we fed the missionaries and it was the last flag football game. Cann got a touchdown so that was pretty fun! I took pics with my big camera just to practice-I figure if I can master that one I could reasonable justify buying a better one right? πŸ˜‰ We’ll see if I ended  up with anything worth posting, I haven’t even looked yet.
Oh the other thing was it turned cold on us. I mean it’s going to get worse but it was like 90 one day and high of 60 the next. In a few months I’ll be begging for 60 but a 30 degree swing overnight sure felt chilly!
Last but not least some Seth cuteness, none of the pics do it justice but he wasn’t sold on whatever babyfood I was giving him. How do you still ha e a twinkle in your eye when you’re gagging?? And if ya give him a bottle —it’s still a mess!!

A little brother love to end on!

Until next week.
