Wrapping up school…

Busy feels like an understatement…
Saturday Isaac had the hooding ceremony or something like that then he and Cannon went to finger lakes to ride motorcycles—Isaac swamped “my” motorcycle pretty early on in their adventure but Cannon and his buddy Gavin had a blast! Cann did have one pretty bad wreck though—he got his front tire stuck in a rut and then he was toast, the new helmet did a great job of protecting his noggin though.
Because I wasn’t there it wasn’t over documented. I did get one pic from Isaac though:

The rest of us took Tanner to baseball, bought plants for Rizzy’s grave, planted, helped, and played!

Pics are required on Mother’s Day around here but I wasn’t super fussy this go around-just yeah stand there let me take your picture-good enough!

I also had to teach in RS so…I always get a little amped up about that.
Too bad it was after the fact I found this quote from last conf “We improve our teaching at church on Sunday by improving our learning at home during the week” I do try to be prepared but…who knows?!
Tannerite (the kid’s explosive) made himself a “Lamonite weapon”

These two caught the motorcycle bug

But we couldn’t get the darn thing to start.

But the next day a new new spark plug did the trick!
But first it was Colt’s field day

He didn’t want to run any of the short races (he puts so much pressure on himself I wish he’d run them just to run and have fun but oh well he this weird -to me-mix of ultra competitive but hates to compete because he gets so knotted up…but if he likes his chances or if he has to he’ll do it…who knows?? ) He tied for 3rd in the long jump! And when I watched the movie I took he jumped off his left leg—he probably could’ve got even further!  And we were waiting for the 400 but got rained out! Bummer! After a year of dreading field day I think he had fun.
Back to that motorcycle…it didn’t go well!

All kinds of things went wrong!
We shouldn’t have had him going uphill (I’m adamant about that because it required more throttle) We should have had Addi down by me—or in the house!! We should have made him ride his bike more than once before we let him try it! We should have walked and walked and walked with him on it like we have with the other boys (they were a lot younger than him but still—mistake noted!) and I’m not sure having that tag-along bike where he can gawk off but still go the right direction was good for this.
Anyway he was supposed to go straight up the front yard-I’d help him take off his dad would catch him. But he wasn’t even close to Isaac (I think Seth saw Addi who Isaac had told to stay back but didn’t) anyway he took a left…(and later told me “I wasn’t even looking at dad” ???? But there was no way for Isaac to catch him and he went barreling into the barbed wire fence! This is a clip from me trying to video but I quickly start watching not through the phone so it’s a jumbled mess of sky-grass-my pocket annnd safe to say that audio needed to be deleted. 😬

But in the end we’re just super thankful it wasn’t worse!
The barbed wire cut him above the eye—so scary close to it being his eyeball or neck but…we’re just so grateful it wasn’t.
And the next day was preschool graduation!!! (I’ve never been to one of these. I think we must’ve left town when it was Colton and Tanner! And Cann went to Mrs Hardee’s preschool but…maybe we should leave town again when it’s Addi’s turn😂😂) I think he had fun—he was pretty proud but wow-graduations at all levels are boring!

We’ve been over to check on the plants! All four of us piled on the four wheeler was fun…then they added the dog—Isaac and I switched places first!!

Then it was Seth’s field day! —which Addi loved getting in on…

These guys found a snapping turtle with dad!

We picked our first two strawberries! But probably should’ve left him an extra day oh well, we’re learning!

And today was Tanner ‘s Field day, I don’t know if it was from listening to or what- but he was hoping it would get rained out, but it didn't-it was perfect weather- and did awesome! They just compete with their class, not the whole school, but he won the 400 and the long jump and if the 40m dash would’ve  been a 50 m dash he probably would’ve won that too😉

And tonight!! So stressful for my poor friends who were back in town for their dental school graduation because their car broke down and they needed to get back to StL, they’re packing up a moving truck tomorrow, and their parents have flights to catch and so on but…on the bright side we got to see them and it was so fun—just good for my soul! The kids didn’t really remember each other but Tanner said “but I had tons of fun with them!” We visited, it was hotter than heck in my house but I thought it was just cuz I had the oven on because I was feeding the missionaries, but we were rolling without A/C 🤦‍♀️ whoops! Plus the oven was on! But we chatted, caught up, sent the kids down the zip line for old times sake and it was just really really fun! And Isaac got to help with the alternator project—he loves to serve though so it was good!

And  a weekly video:
