Primary Program Halloween and such…

Saturday morning I remembered it was the Truman homecoming parade-because that’s why they moved our last soccer games…but I didn’t remind anyone and we got away without going! All I really remember from the morning was messing around with the boat cover—trying to get it so water doesn’t pool in it. In the afternoon Colt had a birthday party (I didn’t realize the poor kid is 11 and he’d never been to a normal birthday party!) he was pretty nervous but I think it turned out fine. He didn’t LOVE it but he had some fun so good enough! They are friends from school and the kids mom actually grew up out here at our farm house. I’d met her a couple times but I didn’t realize Colt hadn’t so that contributed to his apprehension. But it turned out fine. The gal actually probably got ripped off out of inheriting this place by her step mom…or dad’s next wife or whatever. Oh well we just bought it from the bank. Anyway. We also went to a convert baptism and then that evening we caught the Truman volleyball game (I wanted to go because I minister to the coaches wife but) it was pretty fun. We just took Addi and left the boys home.

Sunday we survived the primary program! The kids did great!
And speaking of survived…

Both Colt and I escaped pie face in the post program celebrations unscathed! 🎉🎉 actually he was disappointed he wanted to lick that cool whip off—I was good with either result 😉

My Turkeys were checking our Rays Turkeys 😉

…and when you color on my walls…actually this was bad because I was wiping things off too and there is so much caulk that “we’ll just paint over” that’s never been painted over-I haven’t done it either! But it looks like heck and it’s just better when I don’t see/notice/remember that crud. Sigh. Oh well!
We got the yellow marker off.
And we got into the Halloween bucket.

At this phase of life it’s mind blowing to me that I ever thought far enough ahead and made costumes—now it’s more like hey go find something in the box and hope it fits! But I did order this girl a Marshall hoodie…that will probably fit in 3 years…

Oh and BUSTED!
Apparently it’s not okay to film and post kids doing fireworks. Bummer because they had a blast. And then the 2 year old found Cannons box of firecrackers

I mean I do draw the line somewhere as far as kids and fireworks. No way sister—however her left hand is clear full of them 😳 but we just put them back. All of them!

The costume choices for the trunk or treat:

I didn’t get a picture of Colt because he wanted to get dressed later after the chili cook off but he had a heck of a combination going with his Monkey pajamas and cloak and a wig…???
But he’s such a fun big kid he was dressing up the younger boys and then the girls were trying to guess who it was then they’d switch…I don’t know what all but they were having fun so—win!
Cann just walked to the church from basketball practice. It’s super close, but I had meant to pick him up. We just didn’t get there in time. (His practice gets out early sometimes which is so foreign to me) but he just walked over and put his backpack and gym bag and all his stuff in a classroom. Well then we forgot it so when I was taking him to early morning practice we had to swing by the church first!
Anyway back to Wednesday
Last Year when our buddy Andrew was looking at different schools to play football at I was going to make him this fruit pizza on his birthday—just to be sure he knew my vote. This summer I  totally thought he was going to choose K-State or Iowa State but -call in divine intervention 😉- he picked BYU. So even though it was a year later—I pulled it off!

Seth’s class got to go to Truman farms.

For school Seth went with the Tiger Kirk’s kid costume

Sis helped me fill the flour bucket.

Best lunch dates ever 😘

And the BYU O-line coach/run game coordinator came to Kirksville! They had a bye week so he came to watch Andrew play.

Too bad they got beat. They were 9-0…and now they’re 9-1 and their seasons over. It was kinda a bummer. We left some points on the field in the first half then had to come from behind to tie it with 2 minutes left, then had to hold them. But we still lost in the second OT.
Oh well
They made great strides this year.

I think that’s it…until I add a movie to the bottom…that hopefully YouTube will approve 🤞🏻
