Saturday morning Isaac fulfilled my need to create. Ha. I sewed a cover for the dog carrier for when we drive to Utah. Speaking of the dog, he's asked more than once if she can come in the house and just sit on the rug. The first time I said "You know that's how the devil works, right?" The second time I don't know what I said but...that's still how I feel about it. I know its cold and her dog house is tiny but... Colton asked me just today after I threw her some scraps "See mom aren't you thankful we have a dog cuz then we don't waste so much?" Oh brother! I just laughed and said "So your saying I should be thankful we have a dog?" And he said "Ya!" like duh mom! Really I just wish there was door from the garage to outside, then she could be a garage dog. As we've looked at houses a little bit I've noticed those, but I don't think its a deal maker or breaker in the house hunt. Speaking of the hunt-its down right stressful for me.

Saturday night we went to the accounting Christmas party at the Kaden's. It was really really fun, they are so nice to always host--Stacy loves it and in fact we where going to have a girls night cookie night there tonight but the weather and icy roads didn't cooperate. Its so cold-we don't leave the house much-but then I kind of go crazy.
In Cannon's class they talked about gifts on Sunday and he came home with this little envelope and gift for me. He opened it as soon as we got home. "I will be kind to Colton for you." Now if it was true...Perfect gift for a mom. Seriously some days I want to ask my folks if I really fought with my brothers ALL of the time growing up. Because that's what it seems like around here.

I had vetoed Christmas cards this year as family pictures didn't happen I just thought "Too bad, oh well." But then I started getting some in the mail. I LOVE Christmas cards! So I threw this together and sent a few out. If you didn't get one, sorry--I didn't print a ton and I probably figured you read the blog!
Oh and speaking of mail. Cannon got this letter from Santa at school the other day--he was pumped and had to write back quickly and ask if he's been good enough to get to see Rudolph? He's checked the mail for a response but I told him it probably won't come, its getting to be crunch time for Santa. I love the magic of Christmas, its fun. Isaac is still toying with the idea of buying an excavator but one of the reasons he wants to is how much the boys would enjoy it. But after Cannon wrote the letter and left for school Isaac said "He'd be just as happy to meet Rudolph." The magic seems to be a little perplexing to Isaac-but I love it!

And why I would let him have JUST 6 cupcakes for lunch is perplexing to Colton. Wednesday the Cub Scouts put on a little carnival for the primary kids. So we made cupcakes for he cake walk. The carnival was fun we had a good time (late though oh poor Tanner was Sooooo tired) Isaac stayed home and tested the meter to make sure it really was more efficient to run the space heaters rather than the furnace. Sometimes I just have to remind myself he enjoys that kind of thing. He told me I better just turn the furnace on the other day because he was tired of me being grouchy--I didn't turn it on but I admit, until it warms up a little--Oscar has nothing on me. He wants to go camping while we're in Utah, I said "Why? Its like we're camping in our house?" He wasn't amused.
Tanner's started to do the cutest little waving motion with his hand, I love it. But a picture doesn't do it justice and I doubt I'll get a video of  it--I'm sure he'll wave  wave soon enough. We also do layers a lot so I'm not sure if this picture was him scootching out of his pants or getting excited when Belle is at the window but he does both a lot.

Today we got to go to Cann's class and he showed off his Super Reader Powers for us. It was fun. Isaac had a final right when it was so he couldn't come. But he did finish up another semester today :) Yay!
I think that's about it.
I think I'll post this and then...head back to the houses website for a while. Yikes. I hate it.

Dang its been cold here! Remember how we're warm weather people? HA! Not now we're not. It was a big fat 9 degrees today when Cann and I walked down to the bus stop. But actually yesterday was worse, it was 13 degrees but the wind was blowing and it was miserable...and I went in my pajama pants. Dang. Brrr. I put my jeans right over the top of those babies this morning! Oh and just too keep things interesting we've turned our heat off. This dang house is like a wind tunnel-it wasn't heating anything-except the great out doors- anyway but we had one little space heater that did a good job. So now we have 4 little space heaters and we move them around and they keep us warm where we are. They do a little better when its not quite so cold, its all electric heat one way or the other so we'll see. I'd just assume keep the big heater off because it comes with an awful smell that we are pretty sure is coming from the vents, we talked to the landlord about it last year and she was like "oh yeah-we've tried everything." Moving stinks but I still find myself getting anxious to move...now we've just got to figure out where or what house-wise...and of course if there's an excavator in our future. With us, you never know!
Anyway, the week:
Saturday Morning I woke up at 6:30 to "Dad I got it!" ...and just like that we're down another tooth! He wouldn't show me or let me take a picture but I'm sneaky so I got one when he was showing Isaac. (And I'll spare you a picture of the tooth/bloody tissue I took to remind me to document it. You're welcome.)
Saturday was Home Depot day and we ran into both the Pettit's and the Jarvis' as we were leaving, it was fun. It seems like we did something else as a family that day, but I didn't take a picture of whatever it was so I don't remember. Sunday we got our first snow. Colt was convinced that meat it was Christmas and Santa should come! Funny guy. Cannon and Isaac did a little service project on the neighbors driveway (and ours) but he had to get ready for church first :) Colt ate his breakfast and got dressed so fast because he wanted in on the service project too. But just as he was getting out there Isaac left to try and find the dang dog because she'd run off and a meltdown for Colt ensued. (sigh)
And that dang dog, the former student of Isaac's that comes over to train her (totally a lost cause) says she has fleas--I want to gag just typing that-but Not only will I spare you the bloody tooth picture I'll let the one of Isaac with the dog IN THE HOUSE on the rug and Isaac putting flea medicine (or whatever it is on her) go by the wayside too. Nasty.
Last Friday Cannon "got a trophy" at school. When they get "caught being good" they get a ticket or something then they draw them out on Friday's and get a trophy. He was pretty pumped to show us his picture Monday when we went to his school to watch a basketball game for FHE. Watching basketball was fun too--the me coaching thing didn't work out this year but...I have my opinions when I watch stuff like that.
Elder Rosaschi...you better keep your eye out for the above pic :) Too bad I don't know what treats you really like--we had to guess a little.
We had some friends over this week, that's always fun.

And this Colty Man. Yikes waking up is just rarely a pleasant experience for him...or anyone around him. He gets woke up pretty much everyday when we go to pick up Cann man. So I took a picture of him being a grouch and TanO all bundled up must to document the pain in the rear that starts everyday when my alarm goes off at 2:30. But...it works out-bedtime usually goes pretty smooth when naps are a little shorter and we get to see Cannon a whole hour sooner so--we go with it!

Tanner-you have to sleep in a belly shirt too small hoodie if you puke all over you mom and she showers both you and here all off and then you do it again. Sorry buddy...its what was left. I rigged up his socks with his brothers socks over the top to keep them on--it worked pretty good. His little feet get so dang cold but its pretty close to impossible to keep socks on the little guy.
And the boys singing "Away in a Manger" at the ward Christmas party tonight. Colt just wanted to go home and Tanner was so tired, but I was glad we toughed it out--they were so cute.
Its just that crazy busy time of year-there's something every night. I just try to get a couple things here and there crossed off my to do list any given day and other than that survive...oh and enjoy it--cuz life is really so good!

Here's a couple movies to start-last week's tree decorating, then just today Colt was bragging about knowing his part AND Cannon's part in the primary program and after he told me them it was so cute I said "Can we make a movie?" So we did--and he kind of mixed the parts but oh well. Still so cute.

So anyway they week...
I got a little homesick last week after our company left, I guess just cuz it was the holidays. Oh well. It happens. Monday we took Tan in to get those ears checked--still fluid ~its been a month~ and he's still pulling at them, so we'll go back again. But anyway all the books were on the ground at the Dr. office. I told Colt it would be a good service project to pick them up. No go. Then I told him I would be sure to tell Sister Hatcher if he did. Done. We are encouraging the kids to join in the #LighttheWorld campaign and Kathy told them about it Sunday, so he would do it for her! Whatever it takes right? Then I have my two little helpers helping me clean out the vacuum.
I really hate that job but its my hair that gets tangled in it, so I do it. I mostly just took the picture because I know I have a picture of Cannon "Helping" me when he was about Tanner's size. Wednesday we went over the the Pettit's for Myla's birthday and this is the only picture I had on my phone with Cannon in it... Hmmm I'm slipping. He's been learning about needs vs wants at school (I love kindergarten) but he's hilarious. He's ready to negotiate some wants! He keeps asking me "So mom, do we have all our needs taken care of?...Cuz then we can get some wants if we have money left over."
Tanner's not crawling but he hops up onto his knees with great ease, but when he wants to go anywhere I reverts back to scooting--he's fast that way and he knows it! And this is what happens with the little guy gets a hold of a scripture marker. Whoops.
And the smile above is the pure delight of my little pink lover getting a pink pajama shirt. Its not the bright bright pink like he really likes but its still pink. (You should have seen the dance that went with it!) He's asked for a pink primary shirt...a few hundred times. So I gave him one to wear ONLY to bed...to which he asked if I could get him some pink pajama pants to go with it.  He's going to hate me someday for posting this but oh well.  Little Mr. OCD wants to match. But its silky -or that's what he calls that kind of fabric- I bought them last year and I'm not sure they're going to work to print on so I figured what the heck.

Other than that...life's just plugging along. I feel like the time switch is STILL kicking our tail. Isaac comes home from work, its dark, he's tired, the kids are tired and usually at each others throats, and he's just ready to go to bed. That is usually pretty much what happens. I'm tired too but my complaint is when I've been up with the kids 3 times and its only 10:30 it just makes the night too long! Then one morning he was up and on the treadmill at 3:00 AM, that thing is not quiet! Fortunately the repetitive nature of the noise lulled me back to sleep but he finished running then went to work for the day. Long night nothing, that's a LOOOONG day! Who knows...we'll probably just settle into a routine then head west for Christmas, of course there's no such thing as routines on vacation so I guess I should just start rolling with it now. Isaac's philosophy is "I sleep when when I'm tired." Ya know...there's something to that :)
He was also telling me how it would be much for efficient if we only had 2 pair of clothes and to wash one we just got in the shower with them on, washed them then hung them up...I told him he would have made a really great pioneer but I wouldn't have lasted. Sometimes I think he just gets going off about crazy stuff like that to get me all wound up. It works. Ha. I love him though, he's a good egg. I skimmed and article this week where a stay at home mom got called "spoiled" (not by her husband it was some random person) but she wasn't happy about it. Me? I totally feel spoiled and in such a good way and I'm so thankful. Its doesn't mean its always a walk in the park but Isaac does a really great job of making sure I know he appreciates all I do. (Even when I'm try to clarify that I didn't get anything done.) He's the best. Even if he runs on the treadmill at 3 in the morning. :)

Until next week.

We always have so much to be thankful for but this thanksgiving weekend I'm especially thankful everyone seems to be healthy. Thank Heaven! Its been probably 2 months!! Isaac didn't have to work this week (he always still goes in) but it just frees him up a little schedule-wise so we've really had a great week.
Saturday all I really accomplished was getting the  extra chairs set up and copies of the primary program printed off, and Sunday we checked that off the list until next year. (-sigh- such a relief) the kids really did a great job. Colton's fever finally broke Friday in the night but then it came back Saturday evening so we were making the one of us stays home with sick kids plans but he woke up fever free and wanted to go so we went with it. I wanted SO BAD to video them doing their parts but...I didn't think it was appropriate -isn't it really even against the sacrament meeting rules?- and really it all happened so fast that I couldn't anyway. But Colt had practiced his part at least 50 times the week before, he had it down! But in the moment he let his teacher help him-I think kind of because he was helping most of the kids. But it was fine he still did a good job and said (loudly right in to the mic) "The scriptures teach us about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ! My favorite word in the scriptures *are 'Behold'" *that are was supposed to be is but if I'm typing what he said I might as well keep it accurate. Cannon nailed his part-he did a great job all by himself said "The church of Jesus Christ has been restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith, I love the Prophet Joseph Smith, I'm thankful for his testimony of Jesus Christ." ...after his part he was goofing around and messing with chairs--it wasn't good I kept looking at him with the "knock it off" look and finally mouthed to him that I was going to drag him out of there and it wasn't going to be pretty to which he rolled his eyes-he's 5 the little stinker- but then he did shape up. SO it all worked out!
So happy its over.

Pictured above is the grin of a dad-shopping for an excavator! The boys were all about it-totally enthralled.  It was just that nights whim...I think...I mean I've been assured that at some point they will have an excavator but...I wasn't thinking quite yet. What happened was he looked into how much it would cost to rent one and thought-why don't I just buy one, use it, then sell it-or I could rent it out. So he headed to the auctions sites. Of course I'll keep you posted. We don't really know what were doing next year as far as living arrangements but we're considering a few different things. We spent some time looking around on Zillow this week, we've talked about his little projects on the lot(s) he bought...who knows-time will tell, and I try  not to lose sleep over it.
Monday Cannon's school had a literacy/basketball night. It was a fun little event we called family night-they fed us pizza so I didn't have to worry about dinner. I was sold. It was a fun little event though. They did a nice job with it. Colt...yikes...but he did warm up and ended up loving it when his name got drawn and he got to pick a new book and a prize.
These boys--its just so good so see smiles instead of little sickie eyes I probably took more pictures than normal.
Oh but it wasn't all smiles. Tanner has two teeth!!!...I'll take better pictures when they get a little further in--but he was about this happy about it....at least they're through now! He's had a big week-he's also been getting up on his knees and rocking back and forth a lot too.

Wednesday evening the Gordon's got here! So. Dang. Fun. It was totally like having family for thanksgiving. I've felt like they were family ever since we went to lake powell with them while we were dating. So in Missouri you have to be all of 6 years old to hunt. (What? Crazy right?) But hey its what got them here so we'll take it. As of tonight-still nothing though, such a long way to come (and buy and out of state tag UGH) to go back empty handed. So they still have tomorrow morning hopefully they'll have some luck. Anyway here is Nick putting on the crossbow demonstration. Colt was all about it.

Nick and Don had new crossbows they were trying out then Harrison had a rifle. Hunting in here is so different though-there's no hiking around, it more like sit and wait. But anyway this is the little Rifle Nick built for Harrison.  He's 8 and hoping for his first deer! He couldn't actually hunt until today so yesterday he just stayed and hung out with the boys and they had a blast. They have played and played and played and he's been a great little helper too. I only have blurry pictures but he and TanTan have been best buds with a mutual adoration, its pretty cute.

We've had so much fun having them here and they've spoiled us. They showed up with a ham and a turkey! (And a delicious pumpkin roll!) So we pretty much had two thanksgiving feasts the last two nights! ~after hunting of course~
Today when they went hunting-the entertainment left- my boys were so restless. "What should we do? What should we do?" So we made the only logical choice-the day after Thanksgiving-we busted out the Christmas stuff. Oh but first my little scripture lover--he's so dang cute.

I told Isaac today I think we're going to keep this little $3 yard sale Christmas tree forever...but someday it's going to go in their room and I'm going to have one that I decorate. But for now...why not this? Its about the light of Christ and the light in their eyes when they are helping. They were so dang cute. As we were fluffing the (pathetic) branches they asked to sing Jingle Bells. So we did. When they were decorating it they made a little system where Colt got stuff out  of the box and brought it over to Cannon to put on, I tried to take a video to get the full effect but I haven't even looked at it. I'll have to check it out and maybe put it on youtube then upload it here. We'll see. And try as I might I couldn't convince them that the ribbon was a job for me. I took the picture of him trying to toss it but then I was in the other room with Tanner when they actually put it on, the dialogue was great though I kept hearing things like "Are you ready? Here it comes Colton!" and the finished product...

But for a little better idea of the ornament clusters and ribbon wrap check it out in the background of these proud little star heads. But, they love it, so I love it. And they had fun so we'll call it a win. Make no mistake about it though-their work of art is under attack by little Tanner the tree Terrorist.
Ha! Good times! We as so blessed, and looking fwd to this special time of year!

Sick Is-on shheesh, I could rename the blog!

Last weekend was horrible I was supposed to go to Nauvoo for some primary meetings and I was going to take Tanner with me but he was too sick. So we stayed home.
We ended up staying home Sunday too, well Isaac and I switched off for church. Waiting for Monday morning to be able to get in the doctor seemed like forever! I felt so bad for him!! But we finally got there and the poor little guy still had the double ear infection that had spread to his eyes plus all the sinus junk oh it was terrible! We ended up with a new antibiotic, why won't they just give them a shot and be done with it??? Tanner medicine =Tanner puke. He HATES it,  I don't blame him it smells awful, but it works! Here's a before an after just one day of medicine.

So its a twice a day fight that I totally dread-but I am also so thankful for. There are some side effects that are a little rough too, but I can't change 20 diapers a day if he will feel better! Now lets talk Colt. Monday when we were at the Dr. both the senior medical student and the Dr. told him it was good to see him feeling better and he responded "Fanks" and kept coloring. (He was doing a great job) At that point he had been done with the antibiotic since the Thursday before. That was Monday. Tuesday he was happy and himself but kept telling me how tired he was. I was fine with that and didn't think anything of it, I just told him to go in and lay down when he was tired. That night when I leaned down to give him a goodnight kiss he was burning up!!! I grabbed the thermometer and sure enough-more fever. Poor little guy! Here's a before and after of him.
We had this random house guest. He was a really nice guy. He had done medical school here but then did his military pay back time before residency-so he's hoping to come back here for residency. Anyway he was just staying down in the basement, but I made him earn his keep and check Colt out. His ears and such were fine. BUT, he's not good! Poor little man. That guy said probably just ride it out...so I might be in for another awful weekend. He's hilarious when he talks about how he's feeling and describes his clogged nose as "His buggars being stuck" and such. But the poor little guy is miserable. Tonight he was saying his eyes hurt...so I'm wondering if it is like Tanner's minus the ear infections. Who knows.
On to happier things--Cannon pulled his own tooth the other morning! So much for me taking pictures, it was 5:30 in the morning, this is as good as it got.

Then we were down at the bus stop and I realized the other one was just about in!
I love that he is enjoying school so much. He got sent to Mr. Motley for anther positive referral. And I'm pretty sure the note says "I am happy." Which of course made a mom VERY happy to find.

I had half a mind to start another blog where I put pictures of school projects and stuff. I need to. Because I assure you I don't save stuff like this...hello recycling bin. But I DO want to remember it. So here for now...maybe a school projects blog later.
I remember Cannon always getting into the scriptures when we lived in Ivins. Tanner's onto it these days-ever since he's been feeling better. Well buddy-may you always get into the scriptures! Its a great place to be! Although that's not quite what the "feast upon the words of Christ" scripture means.
We've been practice our parts for the primary program. (I'm praying Colt is healthy enough to go Sunday...not that you ever get what you expect out of a 3 year old--but at home he's got it down!)
And he keeps telling me he can pull of funny face...what a goof! Get feeling better my little goof.
